Having lost my dad from a heart disease in 2021. I think this is the most powerful song I ever heard. They said he died during the night... Washed away by the morning sun. It is the only song that does make me cry everytime I listen to it. In a sense it brings out all the pain I have hidden inside and that I do not even realize I have. In the end it's like a relief. This song is really a salvation, a therapy. Even more when I remember how my dad always loved the cold... Anyway. Sorry for the useless comment.

I love Wintersun. Loneliness is a great choice. I also suggest the Time I album, specifically "Sons of Winter and Stars" and "Time". It's great to see a metal head reacting to metal. It's very easy to get closed into a small segment of the greater spectrum, and we often find many years later we have missed a lot. I know I did. I am 43 and I probably spent 15 of those 43 years listening to the same stuff all within a narrow definition of metal.

The reason I love reaction videos is that it's the closest thing to being able to re-experience things the first time, which is very precious. That being said, I've seen hundreds of Wintersun reaction videos in KZread and this one just might be my favorite so far. You almost got as emotional as I did back in 2017 when this came out. This song means so much to me and it would be my all time favorite song, easily, if it wasn't for the song that came before it in the album: Eternal Darkness (Autumn), I'll check your reaction to it next. Thank you for this video 👍❤️

Totally with you on the overwhelming beauty of the lyrics, and "The weight of the world quietly crushed the dying light". The alliteration of the 'weight' of the 'world', and 'quietly crushed', combined with the imagery and the emotion of his voice can just break me. I don't really read or follow poetry, but the lyrics of 'Loneliness' take me out of the music and make me realize I'm reading immensely powerful, beautiful, tragic poetry. Very, very few songs have ever done that.

This would def be a song I'd listen to during depression. Many people don't know that depression can make you feel very numb and empty. And there are moments you need to feel the sadness that's underneath it. You need moments to bathe in your own pain and sadness. Allowing yourself to feel so intensely. In a weird way I see it as a warm blanket of sadness. Consolation through music. Even though the songs are super sad/negative. But for some reason, I get the feeling you might understand.

I am new to listening to your reactions so am a little late to the party. You said you had asked for sad songs. I would like to recommend what I refer to as the Journey of Sorrow and Loss. It is actually 3 songs. 1-Trees of Eternity - Broken Mirror The group Trees of Eternity was a collaboration between Juha Raivio (guitarist for Swallow the Sun) and Aleah Stanbridge. They became a couple on a previous collaboration and created this group together. Alleah died of cancer before their album was released. 2-Hallatar - My Mistake Hallatar was Juha writing music after Alleah died, and using her lyrics and poems she had left behind. 3-Swallow The Sun - Lumina Aurea While this is not Swallow the Sun's normal sound (Doom/Death which I love as well) it is a song of atmosphere relating to misery and darkness and the hole that was left in Juha's life after Aleah died.

Thanks for watching and reacting to this song. It really is a masterpiece and brings me to tears every time I listen to it. This song reminded me of another, in my opinion, outrageously good song. The metal band is called Timo Rautiainen & trio Niskalaukaus and the song is called Lumessakahlaajat https//kzread.info/dash/bejne/aI57xrmDc93LqtI.htmlsi=3QIHJFm1JjkKw-Xw

Hi, late to party, just wanted to add (don't know if it was refered prior), this album was realeased not long after Jari's father died, hence the heavy emotinal charge, for me, this specidic song is like his mourning, and takes the listener through all the phases of coming to term with loss. It's hauntingly beautifull, and, unfortunatelly, something we all can relate in life.

It's strange that there is still no Epica on your channel. I recommend starting with this: Epica - the skeleton key (official video) Epica - abyss of time (official video) Epica - essence of silence (official live video) Epica is symphonic metal, but unlike Nightwish they are heavier, they have a mixture of clean female vocals and male growling, and they also have their own epic recognizable sound.

I have the album Time 1, I still need to get The Forest Seasons. (I'm old school, I like to have the physical cd, even though all I do is rip it onto my computer and then stick it away!) It's my little way of supporting the bands. He does sing with passion and that makes it beautiful. A good song full of passion that I fell in love with is Save Me--Jelly Roll. The first time I heard/watched the video I could not believe that voice was coming from that man. As all above are still kind of same, here one with a small different twist. To continue the story: Hallatar: My mistake kzread.info/dash/bejne/lmFqmJOCh9WbgbQ.html With Juha Raivio, Tomi Joutsen from Amorphis, former HIM drummer, Gas Lipstick & Draconian vocalist, Heike Langhans. "The music of Finland's Hallatar is born from a place of great loss and sadness. Juha Raivio, of Trees of Eternity and Swallow the Sun, constructed the new death doom project following the loss of his partner , Aleah. "After the death of my beloved and my life partner Aleah Starbridge on April 18th a year ago; I have been gathering writings, lyrics, and the poems of Aleah to keep them safe and close to my heart." Raivio said in a press release for the band's upcoming debut record. "About one month after the world came down on the blackest day of my life; I knew I needed to pick up the guitar and try to create something or I would be truly destroyed." " What I see there: the musicians comin around him, who lost, and sharing the grief, just being there and keeping him in hold. (Their facial expressions and presence tell everything)
