With chipping, moving the head forward a little towards target on the backswing is exactly what has improved Viktor Hovland's short game, that slight movement of the sternum brings the clubhead in steeper. Interesting also is that Dan Grieve encourages us to come from outside to in and cut the ball a little (and less likely to shank !)

The putting calibration drill was awesome. No doubt when you play the video back you’ll see he was spot on with your initial alignment, but after shuffling side to side exaggerating the aim, you came back right on line. Spot putting is something I’ve done for a while now. You almost have to hyper focus on the spot when you’re aiming and tune out the cup. Especially on a big breaker…then it’s all about the speed!! Great video, hoping to further my flop shot skills with the teach! 👍🏼

Ok so I have been watching you for about a week now, and I have to say I am impressed. HOWEVER…….im calling 🐂 BULL💩 on this entire channel. NO DISRESPECT but the math aint “Mathin” You claim that you are “BRAND NEW” to the game which I can somewhat respect ✊🏿 if it were legitimate. You have progressed through the videos Ive watched decently, nothing to be wowed over but you’re getting there. You stated you left your 9to5 to do this KZread thing full time-which that alone is a major accomplishment with “zero” followers, no income, and no previous Golf experience. Realistic, hmm 🤔 not really but hey, this is still America the land of opportunity and the free BECAUSE of the Brave. Having said that….whats truly unbelievable is that you somehow recruited all these established coaches to agree to just be on this YT Channel with you all just off a whimsical idea that you would become a scratch golfer, with no pay??? Its a bit sketchy to me. Unless I missed where you broke down how much you’ve paid/and or are paying them weekly/monthly etc., for the training and the vids? Idk man again love the videos but I appreciate and respect transparency alot more and Im just going off what common sense if telling me and this just doesn’t add up. Im kinda thinking you already had previous experience playing the game and maybe saw an opportunity you could exploit 🤷🏽‍♂️ We will never truly know but like I said, NO HATE, no disrespect, just stating an observation. SALUTE

I think he made a good point that went under the radar and that is after you understand what the material/lesson is that’s being conveyed, you have to develop your own feels for the execution of it. Like the chip shot you thought felt like the club head was moving outside when it wasn’t. There’s your feel and then there’s what’s real! 😊

Deciding which short game guru instructor to follow basically comes down to if their personality suites your taste. All have different but effective methods. Whether it's ShortGame Chef, Dan Grieves, Joe Mayo, Gabe , Phil Michelson or even if you go all the way back to Dave Pelz. If one's method doesn't work for you, try another's method. I just find it off-putting when they try to hawk their products on you like it'll be the reason for your success.

I was going to say the same thing. I used to "drive" my chips but since listening to Dan, my hands aren't always as ahead as they used to be. This guy didn't mention grip pressure once which is really going to hurt in the long run. He also didn't show Jerome how to hit low chips with a 50/PW which is essential from longer ranges. Jerome keeps going to his 56 for most of his chips and it's a classic mistake made by newer golfers.

Stop watching short game chef who fixes 30 handicappers from knifing it, get the spine tilted a bit forward during backswing and use ground forces to get your low point forward.
