This Run-Down Building Got A Complete Make-Over

For the last several years, I have been restoring my family's farm. One of the sites on the farm, which we call Kristin & Rusty's, has been over-run and run down by junk, a fire, and weeds. Over the years, the property has started to look bad. Today, I took on the task of mowing down weeds, cleaning up junk, and organizing the property.

You need to save that old visible gas pump next to that building, there is a big market for parts and restoration, and they are expensive.

Cole, you know that little wooden wagon you found in one of the last video or two when you were cleaning out the building with 3 rooms (inc. Cooper's hay)? I wish you would have saved that to restore for little Edward for Christmas in a year or two. It looked like a really nice one...not the plastic stuff they make for kids now. And, because it looked antique, you could store it in the house to hold his other toys when he's not playing with it. I just think it's nice to keep and restore toys that belonged to a family member...to me, that's a much nicer gift that some of the new, cheaply made stuff out there now 😊 ❤!

Cole, I was born in Illinois and reside in Oregon now. I remember how neat and clean farms were back then. Even mowed bar ditches with the old sicle mowers. I n 2019 we t across the US and 23:51 , still the well-kept farms abound. As a 3rd gen farmer you Cooper and DC are doing a remarkable job maintaining Cornstar farms. Thnx for sharing. Congrats to you and Nava and the newest cornstar. When your channel first started DC was a little down. All of the family are much happier after the loss of your Grandpa. Now DC is GRANDPA CORNSTAR. Ta Daa! Life goes on.

I swear that you work as fast as your fast forward areas! It's great to see the family working together on a real family farm. Back in the 1970's and '80's, people thought it was crazy to go to college to help be a competitive family farm. I think you've graduated Magna Cum Laude! Your farm is working so efficiently after all the cleaning and organizing you've done in such a short period of time. It took decades for that stuff to pile up, and it took you only a few years to turn it around so affectively. Well done to the entire Cornstar Family 😊❤🎉

First off, there is an old gas pump I have seen in this and other videos. I wish you would take it down and refurbish it. I love seeing the old pumps like that, and they can be very valuable. You should put it inside somewhere protected from the weather. Secondly when are we going to see more work on the house. I started watching you when you first started this channel, and when you started in the house, I couldn't wait to see the house finished. You have been working on it a long time, and I would love to see you finish it or at least do more on it. Great job cleaning up. Wow, you sure do get a lot done! My ears perked up when you said you are going to take don the o,d concrete silo. I hauled a whole lot of old concrete silo staves from the salvage heap at our local landscaping company. One I got them home, I made a long curved two foot high wall that I can sit one near my fire pit and creek. It makes a perfect spot to take a rest in the shade. Maybe someone in your area would like to do the same with the old silo staves.

Use a herbicide with the chemical name of imazapyr (Arsenal) to spray around the barns and bins, should give you a couple of years without grow back. Power companies in NC use it to bareground around substations and the like, stays where you put it, doesn't move like the old Pramitol. I mix it with glyphosate when weeds are green or just put it down to keep stuff from growing.
