Rein dominates low ranks because people play grouped, in the open, on the ground, and don't run or play their lives. His swing cleave destroys that play style. Add his fire strike for range and his shield to block the obviously telegraphed abilities. This is why rein can wreck metal ranks.

Sure but the real reasoning is that positioning isn’t even learned until gold let alone mastered which may happen in plat. (Alternatively you have plats with high mechanics or game knowledge but never really two, diamond is where you get players with two which means.) You know how Emongg says it’s better to have the whole team doing a bad thing then to have one this that the other. Rein enables bad things.

Make Rein's ult a spinning attack using the rocket hammer that rotates 900 degrees into a jumping earthshatter that doesn't stun, just does damage around the hammer.

I think Rein just isn't good in high ranks because he wasn't designed to be a solo Tank... He would need a massive rework but Mirror Watch isn't even good for him because my team never shoots threw the shield. They just flank and die or stand behind me then die when my shield breaks. It's just stressful because I don't have any good options. 😢

I think the issues is that they didn't put dps heroes to help with the new shield. They put 2 flankers and widow, who's mostly on the high grounds. Bastion is the only one who can benefit, but his recon mode they gave him puts him in a weird flank/off angle role. If they put Cass or Sojourn in, they might have been a better pick with the new shield.

@@banzaibean1165 Yeah the hero choices/synergy (or rather lack thereof) is my only issue with Mirrorwatch, but it's a big issue. Mercy also doesn't synergize well with most of the hero choices, but unlike Rein, they made her feel more independent. Usually I'll see Zens making the most use of the Rein shield amp matrix thing lol

A counter-charge should have less downtime, meaning the original charger should be flat on their back as usual but the one that countered should only be staggered for a second - rewarded for a good play and allows follow up

Totally not, there is no reason you should be rewarded so much and punished so heavily for who charges first.

Actually using shield, be it through shield hops or hard holding it when lowish hp and learning to counter charge would get them at least near gold

This Rein is using shield like it’s take a breather. I’d have to say Rein shield is… The exact opposite. But honestly if you wanna play like this and I hate to say it… Just play Hog. Big burst damage? Corner, charge out. Low in HP? Corner, charge out. Your shield is just like a Zen shield, additional HP that regenerates.

I’m going to say this because I do this myself: thinking higher than my rank often gets me into more trouble because I’m trying to do too much. It just winds up confusing me. I’m not saying thinking higher than your rank is necessarily a bad thing but it can be more harmful considering you’re not in said higher rank.

bro just needs to learn how to shield hop. Jump, hold w, bring up the shield when you are in the air and let it go when you hit the ground, this is now how you move forward at all times, you're welcome.

LHCloudy went from unranked to rank 200 with 0 dmg mitigated and M2 unbound (which btw is probably the greatest achievement anyone has ever done in the game). While it is indeed super difficult, the shield is actually overrated. The game becomes 10x easier if you learn to play around natural covers, with any hero really.

Shield also helps the team so I wouldn’t call it overrated. There are times when the team could also use natural cover, but that shield is more so for the team than Reinhardt imo

This actually qualifies as griefing and should be reported. I watched a couple of those games and he made it very difficult for his team. These types of challenges are horrible for the game and the streamer community.

At 7:26 in the video, Moria should've sent a heal orb after Rein charged the enemy Rein into the cart. Might have survived the Mei.

I think it's more likely that fewer people are playing because 5v5 for Tank is just terrible. So some of the Tank players aren't watching this, because they just want to give up on being Tank.
