Just offer the bishop every move, wow.
Bishop: "Go on. Take me, menacing moving castle. My descendants will carry for me and my king."

Bro this puzzle is older than 99% of Nelson's viewers Grandparents.

how 99% if the puzzle is 132 years old? It's older than 100% of Nelson's viewers grandparents and 99.9% of Nelson's viewers great grandparents.

Like the oldest person alive is like 122 years old so their grandparents could be like 180 years old
I think us people can appreciate this puzzle but I'm pretty sure the bishop doesn't appreciate being sacrificed 😂
wow saw every move too. Only 1400 but my chess rating has been rising rapidly lately after a 1300 plateau for many months. That's a good sign.
Bro as per your variation after the sacrifice of bishop to the pawn, then white pawn moves to e7, I excepted you also tell the variation of giving check by rook in h file and moving to h8 to prevent the promotion happens in e-file, but there also two pawns were acrossed 6th rank so the plan fails with another variation of rook to a8
Beautiful!!
Real nice sacrifices! Absolutely wouldn't think of that myself for like a loooong shot
Known as The Lemming Bishop Puzzle.
Nice puzzle! What a brave Legolas this is. Sacrifice you must! 🤗
Saw all of these moves, very cool interference pattern that I have seen in the past; if not then I wouldn't have seen this.
The very first thought that came to mind was pushing the right side pawn forward. Black’s pawn blocks the rook, and then you have your bishop for protecting your pawn until it reach the back row.
That is just amazing.
Beautiful puzzle.
I knew the idea but didn't know there were so many moves to win!!!!
And after all this, still have R vs Q endgame
Awesome that your grandfather came up with this one!
I guess it's important to say that on 7:51 black do has a way to prevent white from queening immediately by playing Rh6+ and then Rh8 but white still wins because of d6
@kzkaa.

Rh6+ isn't a legal move in that timestamp

I'm going to name this "The Martyr."
Interference is pretty cool
You forgot to mention the author of this superb study : Hermann Neustadtl, composition from 1897 published in "Deutsches Wochenschach".
what u mean to say is always play london so that we can sacrifice bishop faster
Having never (to my knowledge) encountered it before, I literally just won an endgame using the sixth rank trick! I decided to give up my rook for an enemy pawn threatening to promote, leaving me down three points of material (two pawns vs a rook), but I could see I'd be able to get both pawns safely to the sixth rank... So thank you, Nelson!
I hope everyone who watched this video also had a chance to look at it
Poor bisschop getting kinda taken for granted
Good luck Nelson
White can force the promotion of one of his pawns: 1.e6 ch Ka2 2. Be5!!(If black takes then white has 2 connected passed pawns versus the rook) so Black should move his rook to his first rank 2...R a8! Then 3 Bxd6 and white still has 2 connected passed pawns versus the rook. When white gets a queen it becomes merely a matter of technique for the queen to win the game for white.
7:40 It won't take time because rook and king are in the same line.
please nelson have a look at the game between salem saleh vs fedoseev in SHARIJA masters, GREAT ONE indeed
For me it was obvious from start you have to move pawn, not take pawn or other move
elegant!
Cool puzzle indeed, so how about giving credit to the composer who actually created it? Source is Hermann Neustadtl, Deutsches Wochenschach 1897.
wtf Nelson finally uploaded something worth watching 😂
The bishop sacrifice to save his flock.
Could this not have been on Puzzle Island?
After bishop to e5, what if black moves rook to a8?
1:27 is kf4 legal (since pawn cannot attack the king)?
3:27 What if the king runs all the way up to f7, attacking the rook?
The side which plays first wins these type of puzzles. Do you have any puzzle where the opposite is true.
Nice !
2:38 that move was obvious
Be5 was so easy to spot hahaha
Moral lesson: 2>5
This is the original ‘he sacks the Rooook only it’s a Bishop instead
Bruh this puzzle is older than my great grandpa

nice. puzzle
It was the easiest puzzle ever!😁 I have found all the correct moves including the top 4 Bishop Sacrifices!😎
By method of probability, white wins. First of all, their pawns are going up which is a telltale sign, and also because as you’ve said yourself, about 99% of all composed puzzles is white to play and win 😂 Also, on a more serious note, I’ve seen enough puzzles to know that even though it’s tricky, it’s extremely rare for a rook to stop two connected pawns that far advanced especially if the one with the pawns can get support from a piece.
Well, I got the first move right...
This amazing stuff is by far much better than the rushed limited timed chess games that you keep showing occasionally and they are insanely full of blunders.
