Tyler saying “maybe they’re mirrored” as his first guess, then discarding it even though it was the right answer and getting confused gives me pain.

What he was missing was that both columns fit together when paired up on either side.

The stuff in this game is so legendary and I'm happy it's got released. You saw a lot of areas in this first video, it's kind of surreal as a guest puzzle contributor seeing both of my puzzles in the same video :p (my contributions are the idea for the water pillar at 13:58 although the dev did improve on my initial design, and the final Shrine puzzle at 33:46)

what was the actual solution to the pillar puzzle at 13:58? I just saw that there were only 5 bits that I had no ideas for and just brute forced my way though. The final shrine puzzle was really good though, it took me ages cause I was missing the obvious

@@IcelyPuzzles Thanks, it does make sense now that I look at that spot.I think I've just been getting puzzle burnout, given how much I've been playing already
The way Tyler usually seems to struggle with tutorials then when he's learned the concept the solutions comes to him before I have even registered that there's a puzzle always baffles me!

The reason there is 3 colors of wires is they determine the difficulty Blue: easy Yellow: medium Red: hard I would assume “easy” for late game puzzles are the same level as “hard” for easy puzzles as the game transitions and progresses
@sangchoo1201

well... I think the red wire actually means "optional" or "shortcut"
@Zeragamba

Yep. Red wires are access to shortcut paths
Don't know if anyone answered this, but I believe the first enviromental puzzle with the flowers and lattice was spos to show that you are to not just to look at the structures but also the world for the answers. Thats why the second one when it included the grass was solveable.
@1e1001

the second one is solvable without the grass

@@1e1001 Indeed. As are most of them. All it was was the first example of a visual clue.
Watching Tyler pick up on patterns and rules so quickly has shown me the difference between being smart and having a high iq. And I fit neither.

I think its mostly due to his experience with prior puzzles games, particularly the Witness

This looks so fucking sick dude, I hope this gets the recognition it deserves.
less than 3 minutes in and we are already introduced to environmental puzzles, thats either going to be great or pain, looking like great

A puzzle that doesn't give pain isn't a good dedicated puzzle game, unless it's for relaxation and stress-relief
@alansmithee419
Жыл бұрын
@@swordzanderson5352 That depends on two things, really: The player's experience with puzzle games (someone very experienced may find easy what another player would find very difficult), and why the puzzles are painful (is it because they're hard, or because they're unfair? - i.e. there isn't enough info in-game to solve it and you *have* to guess some things due to poor design)
@swordzanderson5352
Жыл бұрын
@@alansmithee419 IMO, that's frustration. If even experienced puzzle players are frustrated by a puzzle, chances are the hints are way too obscure. Then again, if the game was meant to be INCREDIBLY challenging, there wouldn't be many hints at all. But all in all, yeah, I agree with you, it depends. But a puzzle game should never be afraid of giving a reasonable challenge to the player and trust that they can solve it.
3:30 The purpose of that first environment is too tell you that the environment mirrors the Tetris pieces. That's why it's a 1:1 copy - I think the intention is to make you watch the environment more closely, priming you for the second puzzle with the grass.
Having already played 10 hours of this game, I can tell you this is gonna be a great series VERY reminiscent of The Witness in the best way possible

The worst thing about Tyler's video is that his puzzle game content is so good to the point I want to play them myself, and to avoid spoilers, I can't even watch Tyler playing them. Sure, I could go back and watch when I am done with the game, but usually I am not smart enough to finish them.
27:53: by the rule of beauty I'd guess you have to combine them in pairs. This way the answer draws the same pattern as the clues but in a different orrientation, which would be beautiful.

Five minutes into the video and this is already my favorite puzzle game you’ve ever played just from the background environment and how it gives the hints
absolutely incredible. this right here is dedication at its finest, I hope the man who made it gets all the fulfillment and recognition in the world! :D its also a VERY solid puzzle game
A spiritual successor to the witness more or less let’s go :p

This looks great! Couldn't watch more than 2 mins of it because now that I want to buy it I don't want to spoil myself
This looks like a combo of Understand and The Witness, and I can’t wait for the next video to come out
Been a while since I was this excited for a series on youtube! This looks absolutely amazing so far.
This is exactly what I needed at 1am before bed. Glad to have you back.
this seems like an amazing new series for me to look forward to!
The concept of solving puzzles in a certain way for them to be usable on the world map is really cool. I know The Witness did it a bunch but it also reminds me of A Monster's Expedition and A Good Snowman is Hard To Build (and I could probably think of even more examples if I thought long enough about it)
@IcelyPuzzles

this isn't as close to your other examples, but Pipe Push Paradise and Stephen's Sausage Roll had elements of physical meta overworld gameplay although it was few
28:50 Facepalm moment, he could have made a bridge connecting all sides by changing one tile. Swap upper-left corner for the tile diagonal to it.

Same on the top right bridge where you could have a circle connecting everything.. I guess it's possible to have everything connected to each other and never had to change the bridges again :D
Tyler I really appreciate you playing these puzzle games they’ve become my new favorite kind of videos here and are really calming to watch
This was great! I definitely want to see this as a series!
Yessss another all time series from you Tyler, I’m excited
This is such a cool game! It really takes the puzzle idea to the next level, I love how even if there's multiple solutions you still have to find the right path. Reminds me a lot of Understand as well. Crazy how it took 8 years though
Looks so great I don't think I want to spoil it further! Thanks for the introduction
Wow. I can hardly keep up with the mental gymnastics you're going through, solving these puzzles so trivially. A few of them will make sense in my head, and then you'll input an answer that makes absolutely no sense to me, but it'll be correct. Blows my mind how fast you solve these puzzles, I'd probably be stuck on those solar panel pillars for hours... Hope to see lots more of this game, looks awesome!
this was so much fun to watch!! cant wait for more taiji!!
Welp time to lose myself in another of Tyler's puzzle game playthroughs. Currently on my 3rd Witness rewatch. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this game. Beautiful.
This is a lovely looking game, glad you're covering it :D Your approach to blue drives me mad,,, They're mirrored and inverted to eachother, simply.,, and the tall one is so obviously just toppled and rotated.
Yes!!
This is another one that I'm SUPER happy you told me about, and that I'm IMMEDIATELY closing until I've played it! I'll come back and watch your video after! I found you originally after I played the witness, so you know I like to watch you discover things!
I love how there are so many solutions to puzzles so even while watching i see other solutions for the same puzzle
Really excited for the rest of this! Love the art
Ooooo. Can't wait for the next one. It's funny I can't do puzzles like this or in general for shit, but it is so satisfying and calming watching Tyler do them.
I’m playing this game right now, and I’ll be damned if I don’t 100% it all first playthrough. It’s so incredible
I just finished your Witness series not too long ago so it's pretty hype to see a game inspired by it
Im not a puzzly type of person, but I watch Tyler for his insanity for puzzle games. But this is the first time I actually wanna try out the puzzle game because he's making it so intuitive that I think I could even play the game myself!
There are so many meta puzzles here just dying to be solved, I'm really looking forward to this all falling into place.
Oh my god I just now noticed that the floating bits of land you need to connect at the beginning (loosely) resemble the puzzles you need to solve My god the attention to detail in this game is amazing
Hell yeah! New favourite series!
Makes my day to eat dinner with an aliensrock video. Thanks Tyler.
Yep, this is going to be an awesome playthrough! 🤩
This is the most calming and fun puzzle game I’ve seen in 8 years
"it took someone 8 years to make this game" miegakure: hold my beer
Massive "The Witness" vibes. Love it already!
I was struggling to find out what name this game was, thanks Tyler for covering this game!
This is so goddamn cool I’m only five minutes in but I can’t wait for the rest. Thank you for sharing Tyler!
I saw joe plays puzzle games play this, and now you. I absolutely love this game
I can’t wait for more videos of this game!
Rewatching my favorite clean-shaven Tyler content to cope with the break period is so fun, but so jarring. He's too smooth lol
Hey man thanks a lot. I was really overwheld and confused but now it all makes sense. Thank you.
In love with this games art style!
I definitely would love to see more, but I've been a bit on a Demoncrawl kick recently and would love to see it revisited some time in the future
So that early overthink was fun and I was there with you. Didn't think it'd be interested in this game but it looks cool so far.
I can tell endgame and meta puzzles in this game will be glorious
This gives me a feeling of The Witness but in 2D 8-bit or 16-bit art style, and am all for it
this was so good that the half hour it took me to watch it just felt like a few minutes
omg please do the full game!!
30 seconds in you've convinced me to play the game... now I can't watch the video until I finish the... goddamnit, you're too good Tyler
This game is beautiful, and reminds me a lot of hyper light drifter's art style!
Yay let’s go can’t wait for more!
12:20 looking at the two non-damaged 2x4 pillars on the bottom you can see their two innermost columns combine to make the full set, and their two outer columns combine.
With the double-columns, each side that is 'next to' another, matches up. They also wrap around.
can't wait for more of this series
Looks absolutely beautiful
This game is so satisfying love the vid
I love the puzzle games that let you roam the world, solve the puzzles in multiple different ways, and allow for backtracking to solve greater puzzles later. All puzzles games should do something to this extent.
i dont know,im hyped for a video that is coming out tomorow like it would took 4,000 years to exist
The witness series really has some tough competition, maybe even giving the Baba series a run for its money!
The one we've been waiting for!
Sick game you found dude, I'll buy it when I get the chance
Yoooo can’t wait for this huge game
I keep seeing so many symbols that are clearly puzzle-related just in the world and my witness brain is melting
Very cool game, cant wait for more
Not only the puzzle.... The bgm is really calm and scenery for bit game is sight seeing 😌
this game has the same vibe as "a monster's expedition", awesome
Finished it today. What a great game!
I loved the witness and I think I'm going to love this
Holy cow, this is so cool!
I watched 10 minutes and rushed to buy the game... Already played half of it and got back to watch the rest of the video. This game is amazing! Truly a work of a genius!
I love games like these because I can see one solution way before tyler and feel really smart, then have no idea why something else works even with him explaining it and feel really stupid
33:38 am I loosing my mind or are those interpellation pixel art waterfalls? Not sure, but they look gorgeous
Started playing this this morning just so I wouldn't get spoiled by this video, but I didn't notice how the first few tutorial puzzles were mirrored in the environment (well, I did notice one) so I did get spoiled from you doing the third puzzle sort of.
Man this game is beautiful!
With these puzzle games I always expect some in sane twists at the start of the game bc it’s when everyone one is the least expecting and learning mechanics.
the first bridge puzzle in the section with four platforms is completable by inverting it, simply fill everything around the five squares in the middle and you have access to every path
I just want to say, This is my favorite KZreadr of all time.
I'm one minute in and I already can tell I want to play this game for myself, so I'm leaving a comment instead of providing watch time. Thank you for the game recommendation!
The dojo puzzles from second area remembers me about game "understand"
Never thought I would see 2d The witness but am absolutely loving it
12:30 I saw immediately when you skipped this puzzle earlier that it isn’t that they are flipped but rather just sides that face opposite directions match up.
please make more episodes. I need mooooooooooore
really having them environmental puzzle flashbacks lol love it
This game looks so good
wow loving this video
another game I have to buy and play before I can watch you play it :p
