I have a similar 6Kw induction heater that I built a few years back. You should really use an SSR and power resistor as a soft start to charge up the capacitors before they are directly connected to mains voltage. I basically run 240V through a 300W 500ohm power resistor with a 5 second 555 timer circuit and latch to activate the solid state relay, that way the resistor charges up the caps slowly before fully connecting them. I have also been considering using a microcontroller to measure the voltage on the capacitors to switch over to mains as soon as they are charged above a certain threshold, which would be nice to prevent any potential short from blowing things up (since it would pull power from the cap faster than the resistor lets it charge the circuit just never switches to mains if something is wrong).

Its a, somewhat, janky induction forge. Basically, instead of using coal or gas to heat your steel when forging, you use induction instead. HEY You don't need that inductance ! This heating technique uses the ferrous metal induced saturation to heat, so obviously that inductor is also heating. You should instead use the metal part that you are heating as inductor. And you need to have a Microcontroller that select the correct frequency depending on the current consumption : - optimizes frequency to that heated metal part inductance (like a MPPT tracker) - but don't go for highest current point, instead use a current limiter (so that it has a constant input current predefined by SW)

@@disliked1390 LTT gets at minimum, an average of 10x the amount of views, if anything, this is good publicity for Asmongold lol.
I usually add Intel Extreme Upgrades to a watch later playlist. But this one is special, it has Alex. it's going to be filled with Alex shenanigans and there's going to be something jank definitely.

Ohh, this has ben just sucha joy to watch! Thank you so much, I want more!
This was so good. We need more of Alex and Tynan!

What will we do next? The same thing we always do, try to take over the world. The 'evil' shirt and his finger tents mark Tynan as The Next Mad Scientist.
These two definitely follow two stereotypes of engineers. One is super chaotic with crazy ideas yet still follows safety guides, the other is very down to earth and calm when things are being discussed. No wonder Alex has made it to where he is and is so well like at Linus media group.
Love a Alex hosted Intel tech upgrade
I usually just play the Intel tech upgrades in the background but man this episode kept my attention the whole time! Alex and Tynan need to do more insane things together!
This totally could have been two separate videos. One tech upgrade and one crazy Alex cooling video of Tynan's crazy induction forge.

Do get his coil heating metal faster he needs to have a smaller coil that's almost a snug fit for the rod that's being heated
Tynans chaos level is incredible. That dude has some crazy professor vibes going xD

Tynan Mad Science Tips.
What a great episode, loved the dynamic between the boys.
I love copper builds. I did one with two loops and loved it. It was gorgeous.
Omg yes. Can we have a video where Tynan goes over the build of that inductive heater, what everything inside it does and why he made the decisions he did? Also any safety features like temperature switches etc. I'm disappointed that it doesn't seem to have a proper disconnect switch built in so that you can safely connect the cords while disconnected.

I guess u need to go to Floatplane to get a Video about the heater. I guess the big Black Switch does exactly that. And they only forgot to turn it off. But only a guess
I can appreciate a man like this. He makes me feel so much more comfortable having a room full of chaos and junk.
I like watching these because they give me ideas for my set-up. I can confidently say I won't be duplicating what I saw here
The sheer chaotic energy of Alex and Tynan together is wild
While watching the death machine part, I ended up forgetting that Tynan and Alex were building a computer.
I love how much Alex has grown as a host. This was a fantastic upgrade!
The Alex/Tynan dynamic duo is easily one of my favorites, right up there with Alex/Riley and Jake/Linus. The shenanigans that go down are always immaculate
Need to see more Tynan and Alex. Best episode of Intel upgrades for sure!
This PC turned out REALLY pretty! Also, I'm glad you guys didn't die in this video even though you tried your best. Alex as a host is fantastic as always.
Alex did a really good job on hosting this episode, I liked it!

Half of my video selection process is determining whether Alex is in the video. His projects are always interesting and its always a good watch.
Their dynamic is truly awesome to watch
Now this is a pairing i can get behind!!!...Alex and Tynan really work well together now if they can just stop throwing safety out the first window the can find
Alex' comment about pre-stressing the motherboard is an instant classic! I liked that a lot.

It feels like the classic, "Trust me, I'm an engineer." vibe. hahaha
Tynan is my favorite ltt employee, it's always "we could die but nothing to worry about" vibes 😂

He's like the Steve Irwin of electricity
Yeah, went with one of the classic "BFCs" (Big Fraking Cases) that are bigger than a test bench. Love those.
This was great, I'd love to see more of this guy. He seems insane.
I didn't realize I needed Alex to host one of these tech upgrades. This was chaotic and fantastic
This was both exhilerating and terrifying. And to see Alex being the sensible one was refreshing! Probably my favourite LTT video of all time. Can we have more of these nerds together?
Awe BLACK LAB. I just rescued a lab mix from our shelter and she's been amazing. LIKE HOLY CRAP. Got her at 8 months old, had been int he shelter for like 2 months and she's better behaved than my 4 year old Foxhound mix. LOVE her. Your's is so handsome.
This is my favorite IXTU so far. Tynan needs to be in more videos.
