I bought the 48" LG Oled in 2020 after graduating graduate school, and I have absolutely loved it. I have it placed with a flat wall mount, and sits crazy snug to the wall; my desk allows me to multitask greatly with this size as well. For gaming, it depends on the game. For example 4k, I use a controller anyways, and just sit a little bit back and am comfy. For First person shooters, the flexibility with these monitors allows you to use "Window" mode and then change the resolution; I usually use 2560 x 1400 as it creates a smaller screen to be able to play on and is the perfect size. It also allows my frames to go faster with this setting. The 48" is so versatile that I just wish companies had been doing this earlier.

When monitors are at this kind of size the market is mainly going to be for SIM racers and Microsoft flight simulator fans so they have a "to scale" view and the FPS to go with it. Alot use TVs when they want a view this big view which normally don't have frame rates above 60hz. This could be a good shout for them

@N7Andy you and I are cut from the same cloth it seems haha you really can’t match an LG C-Series for any media viewing when it comes to versatility and quality. I like being able to just switch between watching KZread to Netflix to PC and etc on the fly, all while having fantastic picture quality (calibrated my TV myself on every input for every instance). I’m with you about fps, I’m no frame chaser either, 120hz is definitely all I’d really need at 4K, even with my 3090ti I can’t hit that consistently with RTX and max settings which is why I’ve been happy with 60hz all this time. I also play single payer 99% of the time with a controller so frames above 60 do not matter to me too much

I play my PC games on a 55” LG OLED CX, but I don’t use it for actual PC use, so I sit back about 5 feet from the screen. I can’t imagine sitting up close to a screen that size for normal PC use, but that’s just me. Definitely love my OLED for gaming though. Long-term usage including non-gaming / non-movie / non-video workloads like office applications, video editing and so forth, which include using static elements on the screen for long periods of time would be most interesting for me. I would genuinely like to try an OLED monitor myself, but the thing is that I use my setup for homeoffice as well and on a screen that large I would definitely have four to eight windows open at all times with four of those being in the foreground at all times. I still feel that burn-in would happen to quickly in such a use case. And if that happens, well ... one or several good LCDs would have been the superior choice, even if used for gaming as well.

The viewing angle isn’t as bad as the BenQ monitor but it sucks in that regard too. On PS5 I have to turn the HDR off to even access any color settings or else it looks washed out. There isn’t a 32 inch and 42 inch is the smallest at the moment. For me since I was upgrading and concern there is IPS technology, then WOLED, now there’s QD-OLED, and even more technology is to come in the next couple years. When I spend lot of money on technology I like to buy the best I can afford so I don’t have to upgrade for a while. Don’t buy more than you can afford so you’re in a bad financial situation

I have ran triple monitor setup for the last 10yrs. About a year ago I bought a 49" Samsung Super Ultrawide 32:9 which wasn't as wide as I was using with triples but wow but a perfect solution to my widescreen gaming. No more tweaking the setup, just set the resolution in game and play. It's basically two 27" 16:9 screens on one panel. After using super wide setups for a long time even big 16:9 monitors just feel too narrow. Just snagged a 32" LG 1440p 165hz monitor for $150 for my son's PC and it's nice but playing my standard games on it just has me wanting more width in resolution. I can't see this monitor or an OLED TV at 75" providing that width. 16:9 is nice for video playback and easy game compatibility which isn't a big issue anymore on 98% of games on 32:9

I just got mine this past weekend and for me this is perfect, however I do use a controller for most games. My desk is 30" wide and I have it mounted to the wall. Definitely took some getting used to coming from a 27", but after a couple hours I was good. Just like most OLED's you need a fairly dark room for everything to pop (I need some black out curtains for my office window). Coming from a 1440 IPS panel to this has made every game feel new, almost like they've been remastered. 4k, OLED, 120/138 Hz, what else could you ask for. FYI, the remote from my C1 works for it as well.

I've been using a 48" LG CX OLED TV for over a year now as my daily driver for work and games (got it on sale for 50% off at a local electronics store when the C1s came out) and found it to be the perfect size for me and wouldn't want to go back to anything smaller (or bigger). It's nice to see that there are actual monitors in this size now, although I still think it's probably better to get a TV with an equivalent screen as they tend to be cheaper (plus you get full TV functionality if you wanted to use it for that as well for whatever reason - I never understood why monitors using the same panel weren't cheaper than TVs with the same panel).

mount those speakers on some sturdy monitor arms and swing them out to the side or up above the monitor. just build a little base (i just used 1/4 plywood and put a 1' lip around the base) to screw the monitor mount into. as long as the base is on securely and the speakers fit inside the base should be perfectly stable. or if the speakers have mounting holes/bracket already use that to connect the monitor arm directly. ive got my jamo c103 speakers (theyre big, and heavy) up on some cheap $30 amazon special monitor arms and it holds them up perfectly. so my speakers are up off the desk entirely and i can move them around quite a bit to place them just where i want.

I just started to use the C2, and had heard a few comments on reflections though not rgb specifically. Ive only noticed them a few times, and that usually when the screen went dark for a moment and there was plenty of light in the background. It didnt bother me. The only points I think buyers of the C2 should be aware of is that it is a tv first and behaves like one. Small things like the computer waking up the monitor and having a display port 1.4 connection would be really nice. But those are it. Otherwise I would say that going from a smaller monitor like a 27" or other, these large displays are really quite stunning. I watch a fair bit of youtube as well and wish that I could have bought something like this years ago. I'm going to look into the 48" GQ a bit more, but only for the reasons I stated. Otherwise the C2 is has really impressed me.

It does take some getting used to but once you have one for a while and use it for games it's hard to go back to 1440 on a monitor with no HDR and such. Love my C1. Best thing I ever bought for my setup.

This size is great for me. But, I'm different since I no longer play online first person shooters, only single player shooters and world building games for the most part. I want to put this ON the wall instead of on the desk and really clean things up. I think it will be awesome.

People who say that a 48" is too big can just go to hell. They have probably never tried a larger monitor than their 24" 240 hz IPS and they think they are superior

...and never realized that scaling is optional. Run your favorite FPS in 2K without scaling and you got a 32" display ...or in FHD if you prefer - and you're sitting in front of a 24" screen. Some games support borderless if you like to see your Discord and OBS and Twitch chat as well while playing ...or select window mode so you can stretch it to your desired size and aspect ratio (like ultrawide) - works even with BF3 (picture won't be distorted - you just see much more left and right). Good luck doing the opposite on a SMALLER screen ;)

Good luck doing the opposite on a SMALLER screen ;) For MSFS, DCS, Forza, Star Citizen (games you probably sit further away due to desk/chair mounted HOTAS and/or gamepad or steering wheel etc.) you run the full 48" scaled option or native 4K resolution ..if you got a beefy GPU.

VESA 300x200 and requires a very heavy duty arm like a ergotron HX or a Wali... monitor weight without stand is 34lbs so your pushing it on a WALI. Using the monitor in portrait for productivity is epic. You don't need to scale image, since the monitor is so big, and its a TON of real-estate you can actually read.

I've been using the 42" LG C2 OLED as my PC monitor since launch day and its the perfect size. I also like that it has an eARC socket so you can connect it to a Dolby Atmos Soundbar or AV Receiver (which is something that no monitor can do).

Exactly I have the Samsung 43QN90B and love that size. Tried a 55 and it is unpractical for a PC use. 42 is the perfect ticket. Now we need a slightly 42 inch curved like 1800 not 1000 like samsung. Why still make monitors Need to give better TV as monitors than you can use it as a dual function. They are getting better.

I think that aspect ratio is way better than an Ultrawide. When you think about it a wider screen you have to sit back to get the FOV, yet the screen just gets smaller as you move back. A larger screen with larger items on it you're able to move back yet still see everything AND get the full FOV. Confusing but sitting far back on an ultrawide to get FOV in- you won't be able to make out text or small details. I prefer high pixel density and don't want to be too far away that I miss small items and details, plus don't wish for heaps of eye travel or turning the head unless it's a movie. 34" OLED in this aspect might be cool, but sharp clear text is still an downfall with OLED.

I've been using a 50 inches as a monitor with zero problems for years, you just sit 30 cm back and it's the best display you'll ever use, in fact I want a 75 or something like that if I only could pay for it. Being OLED though I would use a secondary monitor for desktop use and keep it with a black wallpaper, and the start bar hidden(no icons)... to be perfectly sure that it doesn't get stuck on the same image.
