This Old Wip - Episode 1

I’m starting a new series called:
“This Old Wip”
This is my first episode in my new series for 2024 where I will be showcasing old wip’s (works in progress) and Ufo’s (unfinished objects) that I’m completing this year. Thank you for joining me here and seeing what old projects I am working on and completing slowly but surely.
Enjoy! Happy Crocheting. 🧶 😊

    Thank you so very much!😊🧶👍🏻 yes, I received a lot of different tips from my friends here on KZread and I’m telling you… Steaming was the best tip of all! The border definitely helped a lot but steaming the yarn loosened it and relaxed it and it laid completely flat within like five minutes!

    I LOVE your Tunisian scrap blanket! The border you used looks fabulous. I wouldn't part with my steamer for anything. My bff gifted it to me I know the stitch as the moss stitch.

    Hi LindaJean! 🙋🏻‍♀️ Thank you so very much! I didn’t want to part with my steamer when I left Alaska it just seemed like something unnecessary to move. I agree with you though I will never part with this one. I love it so much. Yes it’s weird how they seem stitch, has so many names… When I first learned how to do this sitch, I was learned it as the linen stitch. I feel like most people know it as the Moss stitch though. 🧶👍🏻❤️

That border is so pretty too.. I think it's also called imitation brioche crochet. Hmm, I don't know why it has so many names. I like it tho hahaa

    Hello my dear! That is EXACTLY what I was thinking when I decided to do this series. My dad loved that show! Which meant I lived that show ( I’m a daddy’s girl) ❤️ I think that’s why I grew up loving to refurbish and restore old furniture. I also have done many “fixer upper” projects throughout my life. Thank you so much! I love it too! 🧶❤️🥰

    That Old Wip going to be awesome. Loved how you finish the blanket. I know it as the Moss stitch but that's from the tutorial I first watch talking about it. When you go back to a project from awhile back, Do you notice a difference in your tension?? I have a blanket from years ago not sure how many. Hope you're staying warm. It's cold here.

  • @AlaskaCraftyGalVictoria

    @AlaskaCraftyGalVictoria

    6 ай бұрын

    Oh thank you! 😊 I thought it would be a good series seeing how I have so many works in progress at various stages of completion…🤣 sometimes I find my tension is different especially if it’s a particularly old project. If it’s tighter, I just go down a hook size and if it’s looser, I just go up a hook size… I just fudge it until it looks the same. Yes people learn that stitch by different names. Based on how they were taught that stitch. I learned it as the winning stitch when I first learned how to do it. I also found out it’s called by another name now too! 😳 lol
