Great people think alike! I have reused the stuffing and squeakers too! I have added squeakers to other dog toys that didn't have them. That was so fun watching your cute doggies go after their new toys! ♥️🤗🐕🐕🐾🐾

What a great idea! My dog would take out the squeaker first thing and then the stuffing. It wouldn’t take long but he loved it. I would restuff a few times, for him to do it all over again. Taking them to the shelters is another good idea. They are always in need of

Hi Vickie! 🙋🏻‍♀️ Lol 😂 Some dogs are definitely very quick to demolish their toys. I plan on attempting some basic shapes: bone, disc etc this week. Yes, I agree… the shelter would be so appreciative. 🐕🐈‍⬛🐩🐕‍🦺🦮🐶🐱🐈🐕

Aww, little cutie pies. Urgh, my dogs toys always need to go to “ teddy hospital “ and as I loathe sewing I don’t make a happy nurse,lol.🤗🧶👍

Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!! What a fun project and great recycling idea! I love your fur babies. They’re adorable.😍 I have used the stuffing from inside shredded dog toys to stuff amigurumi, but never thought to just make a new toy.🤦🏼‍♀️ I really love the idea of bringing new toys for the animals in the shelter. I say pound too I don’t know when the name was officially changed 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ . I am exactly like you wanting to bring every single animal home with me. It’s heartbreaking. So bringing toys to help make their lives not so miserable while they wait to be adopted is a wonderful thing to do. Another thing you could do is sew long tubes , stuff, and braid together for a tug o’ war toy. My beasties are destroyers of toys, especially those with limbs. They will essentially draw & quarter them😱 so simpler shapes would definitely last longer. Thanks for the idea! Cheers from FL😺

Well a very Merry and belated Christmas and New Year to you too! ❤️ Thank you very much! I thought it was a good idea to just create new toys. 😊 I never thought to use stuffing for amigurumi. Clever! And that’s a wonderful idea to make tubes/ stuff them and braid them for tug o’ war toys! I love it! Thank you! I think they are pretty darn cute myself. 🤣🥰 I love these little fur babies so much! I frequently have people tell me “in their next life they want to come back as my dog” 😂😂😂😂😂 Yeah, I agree, giving the sweet animals something special just for them while they wait for their “forever home” is something I am putting on my priority list this year. I just need to make some final obligations etc and find out exactly what will / can be accepted and then get to work. ❤️🥰

What beautiful babies and an excellent recycling project, my dad used to make them for our dogs, he used odd bits of upholstery material - we have a furniture restoration place locally - he often got piece of leather as well which he just knotted and they loved so much. Have you even made them dog treats ? I used to make my staffie them and she LOVED them, from memory it was unsalted peanut butter, wholemeal flour and a egg I think, I often added a little heart or liver in for extra nutrition.

I even have purchased special doggie shaped cookie cutters ( bone, dog house, shoe etc) to cut them out. I have made the all natural peanut butter ones as well as pure pumpkin ones. They absolutely love them! Thank you for sharing your story with me and the dog treat recipe! ❤️

Mine don’t play either toys much anymore, but if I do get them one I get the ones without squeakers. Great idea tho, dog toys are outrageous in price ❤
