You know what? I think you've learned a lot about consistency and when to battle from sim racing. So even if the sims didn't get across one hundred percent of the physics, you still got something out of all that play time.

you learn the mental aspects from sim racing imo, like u said when to push, when to overtake and etc which is really helpful

Probably the smartest observation about sim racing compared to real racing I've read on KZread. Too many sim racers are desperate to believe there's no difference between the two, which is absurd. But yeah, for sure racecraft translates...

@@Eat-MyGoal Of course the car and tyre models aren't 100% accurate and the physicality of actual racing isn't simulated, at all. However, you obviously do learn a lot about how to drive fast on track through sims, because otherwise Jimmy and Steve wouldn't be doing as well as they are. Racecraft might actually translate the best, but the fundamentals of handling a car near the limit do translate, as well. Surely not 1:1, but significantly enough to help a lot. Obviously, I drive in sims (just for fun) and I have learned so much about weight transfer and how to handle under- and oversteer. Doesn't make me a racer, but surely a better real-life driver, overall.

Most professional racers (f1, gt3, etc) I've heard say that the popular sims all pretty much perfectly simulate how a car behaves in a physical sense, but the hardest thing to replicate is all the tiny details about how the car feels in your hands; what little noises and bumps tell you about grip and the road and whatnot

Really loving these 'IRL Racing & racing life' videos dude. And THANK YOU for always having CC's on. It's the difference between getting to experience something and of missing out totally for those of us who are deaf.

Steve you've made me realise what my purpose might be in life, I really wanna start karting and hopefully be a gt3 driver one day, currently at college and will do a motorsport course next year and will try to get any licences I need when I get the money to make a start in my goal. keep it up you're a huge inspiration 🙌

I wish you all the best. Becoming a race car driver takes a lot of talent and dedication. Unfortunately, it also usually takes A LOT of money. Maybe you can build an online following, too, so that you become more attractive to teams from a marketing perspective. Best of luck to you!

Quite a few stages before. Production spec to TCR, GT4, 992 Cup. And finally GT3 or even GTX with the KTM GT2. Though I imagine they won't have to go through all of them. Maybe just a middle stepp like GT4 before GT3. Either way let's enjoy the challenges of the present.

I drove the Nurburgring last summer in a prepped Golf R and I agree that faster traffic is the biggest challenge. I didn’t want to ruin someone’s fast lap.
