This Nintendo 3DS XL Was Disgusting Inside - Let's Restore it!
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
How to Deep Clean a "New" Nintendo 3DS XL - In this video, Robert will be tearing down, cleaning, and reassembling a New Nintendo 3DS XL Galaxy Edition. But while the word new is in this game console's name, it's apparently seen a lot of use and needs a lot of cleaning.

Yep, it's the new guy, Robert, again! Steve will still be making his normal Friday videos (Although this Fridays' video is a little different). We're just adding more videos to the channel. Hope you enjoy!

@@Tronicsfix ok yeah I loved the part of him fixing a switch that was water damaged and that was back in 2020 in September, what my great memories
These are great, but I would have liked to see more of the cleaning process. Not just a few parts, all of them. Love that you guys are trying new things and keeping it fresh! Literally... 😅

To be fair, if something doesn't require cleaning, there's no need to clean it. and I doubt anyone wants to watch small stuff get cleaned.(aka fingerprints, etc)
Damn, Steve must've levelled up and got a new skin.

More videos is always a good thing. Great job Robert! I like the idea of making roughed up tech look new again. Keep them coming 😊
I enjoyed the narration. ASMR cleaning, like the last video, is nice, but I think showing a bit of personality while cleaning is part of what makes this channel work. At least for me. Great video.
Dig these restoration as well as repair videos. Disassembly/reassembly instruction is always appreciated as well.
The fact you've added the commentary with opinions, little tips and flaws you had through the process helped to stand it out so much. and while I understand the reasoning behind it, to distinguish these vids from the others use yourself in the thumbnails. I get a kick out of seeing something so neglected getting restored so I will watch regardless and it's just a matter of time and repetition of being comfortable doing these that the rough edges are going to get ironed out, so it's going to be great to see how these progress over time. I kind of look forward to the first two parter where something needs fixing, but is also in dire need of a clean. in Steve's video its almost instant, but your video gets to expose all the nastiness within.
Been here from the days Steve used to use his brown wooden table if I remember properly, great episode just don't lose the content that brought everyone here, cleaning and restoration videos are everywhere...
I'm here for this content as well! Throw them in as often as you can.
I would love to see more of this content, I'm personally thinking about getting a pre-owned 3ds xl but I'm always worried about the internal condition of the console. Great video!
Thanks for this video! Just bought a new 3ds xl on ebay, this helped remind me to make sure it's clean when it arrives. Hope to see more videos with you hosting!
The amount of satisfaction I get from a good cleaning like this is almost embarrassing 😂 Needless to say, I'm def into watching more of these!
Thanks for listening to us and adding commentary as well!!! Great to actually see and hear Robert! :D
Love it! Having more videos on teardown, cleaning, refurbishing (as well as the repairs) is great to see. Good to see the transparency about any mistakes made. Would also like to keep seeing any steps used to fix them if the ever happen. I was wrestling with a New 2DS XL over the weekend. Could only bring myself to teardown the lower half for deep cleaning. The rest got a dry bath in 99% Isopropyl alcohol and some lightly damp gauze. Those 3DS ribbon cables and tiny hole in the hinge drama is just too much 😂. And some of those connectors seem way too flimsy. Lucky nothing broke on me! Have a CUH-1116a PS4 that sounds like a jet engine to refurb next. Your channel's videos really help me gain my bearings without the need to dig around the obscure corners of the internet for an official service manual.
This is great content!! I'm happy to keep seeing both types of videos with both of you guys!

Good luck , Robert! Love to see more console and other electronics repair/restoration stuff
I'm liking this new restoration content, more lengthy videos are welcome! Great work on the 3DS.
Awesome to see the channel growing! Best of luck Robert.
one thing i like about steve's vids on the channel is the live commentary rather than the voiceover not sure if that can be applied here, but good stuff! im with rob i like to polish it all too
Yes. More of this please. I really enjoyed this, along with the commentary and explanations.
I love seeing restoration videos and expanding your channel. Only feedback would be to make it your own. Bring your style and energy to these videos. Seems a lot like the other popular restoration video channel on KZread.
I don't think I could live with the white speck on the screen, it would drive me nuts. Possibly more than the sticky buttons.
A job that exceeds excellence. Sincere congratulations Robert. Thank you very much for sharing. All the best.
Fantastic video. Professional cleaning. Though I think that white speck in the screen would drive me crazy 😂
Skills in restoring and playing, keep up the good work.
Robert is really good at mario kart. I enjoy very much these repair style videos
Love the deep clean, keep up the good job 😊
Adding a new host = more videos. Welcome aboard Robert. Hoping to see twice the content per week. Congrats to the channel. 👌
Good cleaning/refurbish video. You are more subdued in your videos than we are used to, but once you get more comfortable with doing them, I think you will be a very valuable addition to this channel. You've already done 1 good video, so you can only get better as you go along.
Great adjustment to the new content. I like this.
Good stuff man looking for the next 😊😊😊
So satisfying!!! Loved the vídeo!!!
Who Is this Imposter!!!!! Seriously welcome to the channel and I look forward to more great fixes.
Where'd you get those orange tweezers? The ones I got from Ifixit aren't even thickness so I'm looking for better ones.
Very much enjoy and would like more of this. Would love a teardown and cleaning video for an xbox controller (360 and above) Thanks!
I have a question lol may sound stupid but just out of curiosity. Could a person use a flash drive with the Swiss boot files on it and solder it to the GameCube board in the place of a pico? Haven’t tried but just curious if it would be possible.
How did you change the black circle pad to the gray circle pad? Mine needs changing
Heavy Odd Tinkering channel vibes for me. I love it.
I think it would be cool to see this cleaning combined with his fixing videos so you get an all in one...
Keep up the good work and have fun

Wow ur good Robert ..I tried to follow you but lost you when u got to the motherboard and lost you even more wen u started to put everything back together 😂..very impressive
Really awesome to be changing some stuff up! We welcome you Robert with open arms here. Great job on this video
Hi Robert ! Your type of videos (as opposed to Steve's) are very familiar to me. His are too but what I mean is that I used to manage a computer shop in the early 2000's. Every so often, we would get people who would drop off their computers. I'd fix them and call for them to be picked up but they would never come pay for the machines, they'd abandon them. After much communication (voice mails), my boss would allow me to take the machines apart and recover any parts we had installed. So we had a bunch of half fixed PCs cluttering the shelves. What I did was take all the systems, clean out the nicotine, bugs and food crumbs/soda drips, take the best combination of case, MB/CPU/RAM and make a Frankenstein PC. I'd use old cast off sound cards, NICs, video cards and then sell these as "used" systems. The cases and cards that I couldn't use I sold individually. We made several hundred dollars off of this.
Ah yes the perfect amount of Robert. Great job!
yoooo new guy, that's awesome 😎👊 this video also reminds me of odd thinkering restoration videos 🤔
Loved it! More content the better!
As long as this guy says the magic word over here I'm fine with having a fresh new face on the channel. (By the way for all the new people the magic word is The perfect amount of Thermo Paste)

Good job! Look´s like the battery is swollen?
Hey Robert Sir You had another vid not to long ago And you also do great work
great video xxx
Disgusting inside aside, that galaxy plate is gorgeous. Wonder if I can find it as a standalone plate swap for my new 3ds xl.
This was great. As much as I love Steve's videos, I really do like to see the cleaning / restoring part too. These will be a great addition to the channel.
Always get stoked seeing new people in big channels. It’s a sign of growth or change!
Aww bummer about that white spec! I think if I had to, I could probably handle this tear down - except for that top screen! Getting that ribbon cable twirled up enough to safely pass it through the ring looks too stressful. 😱
Thought I'm in the wrong channel. Saying hi to the new face.

Love it! Glad to have more content! Great job, Robert!
Too many channels doing the "restore" thing for me. The education is what I enjoy.
Can you do some cleaning product comparisons (like contact cleaners vs alcohol) along with what harms the typical game console plastic? Like the broken xbox series x, cut it up and soak it different solutions for 24 hrs. Do the same for the rubber pieces too. Kind of like a Project Farm video but for the tech side of things.
That white spot on the screen would drive me crazy. 😆
Cleaning disgusting consoles is very nice. Good series
Love seeing new faces! Keep up the good work, guys!!!
Like the content. Good stuff. That white spec would drive me nuts though. Of course we enjoy Steve, but I'm sure Steve needs a break sometimes and this gives others a chance to show what they can do.
That tiny white speck would kill me. OCD not having it lol.
Glad to enjoy this video maybe you can do a video together like have Steve do the repair then have this guy do the cleaning
Love the new addition to the team

Hey thanks!
That damn ribbon cable of the upper screen is the reason cause i never fix a nintendo dual screen console, i just hate them too much.
That white speck... It's killing me. Is the top screen's lens removable? I would peel that in a heartbeat to clean underneath.
So we’re adding videos, not replacing? Good. I’m really used to Tronfix’s voice and demeanor

I love this videos :)
is the white spec not fixable?
Thx for the help😀
Thanks, I enjoyed the video! But, man, that white speck in the screen would drive me crazy!
I like this Rob!
Hey Robert! Nice to see you in your TronicsFix debut/reveal! I look forward to seeing more of your style and videos! I also wanted to throw out the channel name of Wristwatch Revival who you remind me of. They are excellent at sharing a passion for restoration and attention to detail with the audience. I get the same feel from you! Every console has a story and almost always an inner kid who played the heck out of it. I would like to hear you share your passion for video game consoles and what it means to revive play and that inner-child for people of all ages.
I'm so confused I thought this was Steves channel my mind is in a state of disarray
Yooo, my ps5 keeps shutting off when I play hogwarts, would you guys be able to fix it in a video

Two video formats for me from the same channel??? 🎉😊🍻👍
I might be ok with this if he wears a Steve mask and says 'The perfect amount of cleaning'! But really can't wait to see more deep cleaning of some nasty systems. I suggest a neat channel spasific brush or custom cleaning tool thats a reflection of your channel. Or ya know just stir it with your finger, ya know what ever you want.
All that trouble to clean, and at the end I can only look at that white dot in the center of the play screen... That would drive me insane.
