There was a tournament a little while back with about 16 players I think. They asked each player who they thought the #1 player in the world was. 15 players said serral and 1 player said dark was #1 in their opinion. That one player who voted for dark was dark himself lol

I can just imagine protoss players trying to win a micro battle in zvz and literally falling to the ground crying HAHAHAHAHA

Honestly I love mirror matches. They are the only matches where balance can't ever be a complaint. Both players have the same tools.

There are actually more balance issues in mirror matches... That's why in mirror matches you mostly see two same builds vs each other

first and last matches were crazy

The whole "It's an older build but it checks out" thing is usually cliche, this however is a freaking WoL build. Loved it!!!

Spoilers for the first game: That push was so interesting to watch play out. Holding the Zealots back repeatedly, treating them like an integral part of the push, held in reserve, and not just thrown away in the first A-move was such a nice change of pace from any Protoss player.

can someone answer an honest question, I used to be GM in protoss and masters in zerg, but stopped a bit before the starting worker count changed, do people still play? Is it worth getting back into the game and competing again? Or is it a dead game on ladder?

There's still plenty of players but it depends on if you want to learn all the builds from scratch again, its a totally different & much faster game.

As a WoL player who quit during the HotS beta and then returned last year, you'll find games pretty fast, but as you get better and higher MMR you'll see the same group of players a lot and maybe even play vs them 3-4 times the same day. There are still surprisingly a lot of players but many are split between other various game modes (coop, arcade custom games, team games, campaign, etc) - I would guess most people don't actually play the 1v1 mode. As far as if it's "worth" getting back into, that's up to you. Most people find the game fun, and there's still not really much competition in the RTS world for this style of RTS. Perhaps that will be different once stormgate and zerospace and immortal:gates of pyre are out... But until then, most other rts are very different. In a vacuum I'd say get into BAR, AoE, DoW, CoH, etc, but there's still nothing quite like StarCraft 2 - and the heart is still beating, despite what you may have heard. LotV is much faster and harder than WoL btw.

If you need more than 1 or 2 bases to win PvZ, 9 times out of 10 it means you are doing something wrong. The last season I played SC2, I played 1 game per day that season and I ended Rank 1 middle Diamond and won EVERY pvp and EVERY pvz game of the season. I win every PvP and PvZ at the 8 minute mark against Diamond and Masters opponents, almost always on one base without ever expanding. My second best build order is 3 gate 1 robo immoral all-in in both matchups, and I am not going to tell you what I do instead if I scout something 3 gate robo doesn't beat. If I see a Z go for a fast 3rd hatch, I'm immortal rushing. If I see a Protoss build a Nexus before he has enough production to defend, I'm also going for an Immortal rush. I scout with my 12th probe and keep poking in and out and I KNOW you have over-expanding within 2 seconds of you over-expanding. I KNOW you have the wrong tech within 2 seconds of you building the wrong tech,a nd I WIN in 8 minutes flat. I know by the sound of the music when I'm moving out that I have the timing attack right again and have already won the game.

@seanmasters9558 If this is only on your iPhone I would try going into settings, flushing YT cache etc. Then maybe reinstalling the app if that doesn't work.
