Watching you grind out a Terran with Sentries was epic. You could feel the frustration and the "WTF"'s coming from the opponent every time you send in a wave of sentries, or he finds a hidden base.

so what exactly is better in a 2,5hr video you watch over 5 days instead of 5 30min videos you also watch over 5 days? it has literally no benefits and people are more likely to not start the 2 hr video at all

i would start them but if i get bored in between because content is not fun enough or too tedious to watch for long i would skip or watch something else after x amount of time. so if you don't spam 5-10 vids with stupidly uncreative intro + outros, always the same style that's when i stop watching at all because it's too annoying to skip every time in short increments... i want to lay back more than 5 min. :D@@rigdigwus

Mass sentry game was awesome, i expected a quick defeat but that game was wild 🤣

29:57 MaNa plays mass sentries, and yes: You should definitely get attack upgrades for them. and chrono them. Attack upgrades make a really big difference for sentries.

What upgrades to get for sentries? All of them! For such a weak unit you need every boost you can get.

would have been a good idea to use halucinated colosus to draw the tank fire into the mineral line at 40:55

Beating a grand master with sentries only is not an easy feat, he did say he played 150+ games….

I saw that the Mothership is greyed out and it gave me a terrible idea for a mothership rush. Use the motherships recall ability to recall a bunch of probes and warp prisms into the enemies main. Use the warp prisms to rapidly setup cannons (skipping the pylons) and protect the structures with the mothership's spells and cloak until you have a fortress in their base.

What I love about this series is how much it highlights what each unit can and can't do. Can't wait to see you do this with Zerg!

Would love to see a sentry + high templar to GM. Imagine throwing a bunch of hallucinated archons and real archons at your enemy and they don't know which is which XD

wow, im super impressed that whichever "monobattle" you're playing, you always manage to keep your unspent low. except for the gas heavy units, but even then you spam out cannon+battery and expand like a madperson. WP! awesome stuff!

That Sentry game made me cry with joy..😂 Best thing I've ever seen. The Oracle game was cool too, I use a similar build at times, and I know how devastating mass Oracles can be..😂

Protip: not only can you see the shape of the unit being built in the Stargate, you can look at the light blink pattern for Terran buildings to see which units are being built from the starport, barracks, and factory.

I think the reason mass sentries are surprisingly good comes down to density. They don't do a lot of damage individually, but you can pack a lot of them into a relatively small area. Combined with forcefields, they get the job done.

Yes I think you are right, seeing as you can use the FF to take a series of fights where you heavily outnumber the forces that are able to return fire. I think their stats are also not as bad as people think because we see the sentry as a "non combat" unit.

You don't understand at which point sentries are bad, beating GM with sentries is insane. I was diamond 2 5 years ago, and I could only beat platinium 2 with mass sentries. This is super hard. For example I could beat easily diamond 3 with mass stalkers. Sentries just die against everything. You need to do so much damage to the economy, this is insane, and he didn't even use a prism or observers like beasty 🤯 This is just insane

You have somehow captured all the nostalgia for playing single player Starcraft, all the strategies we would have loved to have tried out ... but you doing it at a professional PvP level 😂

Ah yes the legendary Trippin’ Balls build. Straight from the hay day of Novawar Says on LAGTV. A build so absurd and so undeserving of victory, but so satisfying when it happens anyway!

I knew how the Immortal game was going to go before watching it because I've done it before. This is a massively underrated when unit when played. When opponents see you commit hard with a ground unit that initially beats their army, they often make the mistake of getting base defense to stall. Problem is that is exactly what Immortals rip through so they lose even harder. And the proper way to play immortals is recognizing that you kill buildings so fast so you should be looking to shut down production and tech/upgrades as a minimum to effectively trade. Of course pylon depowering is huge too and you should always spot it and do exactly that to stop the inevitable switch to Zealots from gateways.

Sometime in the night I opened this video in my sleep and I had very Starcraft themed dreams. Most prominent was cheesing with photon cannons but putting them on the sides of cliffs so people wouldn't see until they went over or around the edge. Was quite strange but not unpleasant. Video is better a second time now that I am awake.

That sentry game was beautiful. Insane that you pulled it off without allowing warp prisms. The oracles game reminds me of the ZvT tactic where you wait for the Terran to move out and then backstab with mass ling bane. Terran loses a game losing amount of workers and need to do counter damage. But if they look away at the wrong moment to defend at home, their army evaporates to banes.

This was awesome and great job thermal! I also did an all-in sentries push once myself except I instead used all my energy on making it look like I had a like 6 Archons and 10 Colossus with all my Sentries they just insta GG'd and left the game without actually trying to defend against it lol.

Great run! I've noticed one thing in that sentry only match, that terran units tend to derp (or dirp?) if caught between force fields, so I think it would be viable to use hold position, so that they shoot more before they die.

the sentry targeted the closest marine so its better to just hault them and let them move up on it self, if you use hold position they'll stay there and miss out damage if the frontal marine dies

Also about 54:18, Oracles did use to be stronger, they had a bug which made them better against unit concentrations (which Zerg are prone to do) by dealing damage instantly after killing the last unit (due to the code of it being an ability and not an attack) instead of waiting for the cooldown.

Gotta feel a little sorry for the guy who got beat by mass sentries AND mass disruptors. After those games he probably felt like uninstalling
