The guy in Heilung throat singing is a real shaman. So what you and many others, including myself, feel is spiritual connection. I feel like it opens up wounds that we never thought we had, so that we can heal them through the sort of guided meditation that is their music.

I do love Heilung and what they are doing to help us hold on to the memory and/or spirit of our ancestors that we have almost lost all information about. And I do connect to every performer through there incredible musical talents. But what do you mean by "real shaman"? magical powers? does he have a degree in shamanism? Isn't he just a guy who found a connection to an old world and is excellent at sharing that connection or what shamans actually did... someone who gathers wisdom and knowledge to share with his people. I am sure these men felt magical but these are just men that are, perhaps, excellent at expressing themselves Kai Uwe Faust doesn't need magic to be amazing, if you feel a spiritual connection to him, then that's all him, no woo woo required I am on the other hand open to the possibility of genetic memories lighting up because tribal is who we are and evolved as. modern culture and behavior is just what we very recently decided to do (were forced to do)

Your not alone brother. I broke down during alfadhirhaiti live in London 2022 as it resonated with the passing of my brother who committed suicide. When it DROPS around 2:45 The beat of the drums and powerful vocals matched the beat of my feet carrying his coffin to his final home but it also gave me closure. Heilung truly mean everything to me, spiritually and emotionally they just unlock that primal state inside of me, I've just seen them at download festival last Friday and have already booked tickets when they return to London next April. Truly one of a kind❤

I kinda think of them as the physical embodiment of Touch Grass. We could all stand a reset to the basic primary fundamental natural state of being. 🖖🏻🤘🏻 My dad always said we'd find more God sitting on a hillside watching the sunrise during deer season. Then, any churchgoers can. Wish you well on your journey. Enlightenment often comes to those who stop seeking it, and start living it.

Your story resonates with me. When I was 10 or 11 (this was back in the 70's) and I stopped going to church, I chose the path of 'The Forest'. I do not play music when I'm out in nature, but I listen to the natural music nature provides. Just the other day I stopped and listened to leaves falling for about five minutes where there were no other background sounds, it was incredible and soul satisfying. You are heard Brother, follow your heart and soul.

I stumbled across Heilung Anoana and the music stirred something within my soul, I now find peace and solitude in nature. Ironically, Anoana was the protector of nature in Germanic or Norse not sure which mythology.

When I’m asked what religion I follow… I tell them the one that’s doesn’t divide. I feel like we are pushed to be so divided with politics, religion & money… I could never understand why. Raised as a Christian I never felt connected, finding Heilung in 2018 was the first time I felt completely connected in a way I can’t explain. I lost a grandson during birth May 2022… I didn’t think I could handle the pain not only of the loss, but my kids. Watching them during the birth & the screams of sorrow after, nobody should have to live through that pain… I was so angry inside. The week after I put my ear buds in & stood in the freezing ocean blasting Lifa… that connection that has no words released that fear & hurt. I knew everything was for a reason, I could feel it!!! Here we are now with our rainbow grandson that will join us March & my kids are stronger then ever. You touched me in this video… Thank you!!! I understand exactly what you were explaining… I’m so thankful for finding Heilung. ♥️♥️♥️

i think the world interprets God and Jesus the wrong way. God is nature, God is all around us, he is the forest, he is the leaves, he is the spirit all around us. Heilung brings out the spirituality. Yeah they are pre-Christian band and sing pagan music but what you feel will be real and only your experience will be different from others (which is great). Im not religious,im also Christian i belive in God but no one will stop me in respecting and exporing humanities past even pre-Christian. Im Bulgarian and our culture dates back pre-Christianity and we use to believe in Tangra (pagan God) we are now Christian but there is something magical listening to our music (look up bulgarian magic voices, and you will experience something similar to what Heilung brings) . I believe that God is in the music, the voices and the way the songs are sung that gives you goosebumps

Heilung woke up something *deep* inside me. It's as if I can feel every human heart beating in synch with my own. I feel more connected and whole. The first time Heilung popped up was on Spotify after searching for nordic/viking/icelandic/etc. music. It feels like I’ve been listening to them for a long time when in reality it’s only been around 2 months. This song right here has to be the one I connect with the deepest. I’ve had many experiences, too many to remember, with spirits/ghosts/entities/etc. throughout my life. Inexplicable, really. Grew up Christian; one side extremely religious, to the point where they chose which things to believe and which to ignore; the other side verrrrry loosely spiritual. I, according to my Grandad and Nana (loosely spiritual), would tell stories of “the people walking around the house/yard/cemetery/etc.” and how they would tell me their life story; so much detail that only someone in their family would know. I live next to 3 cemeteries currently and the ground were on, I firmly believe, is/was an indigenous burial ground. There are (entities) in my apt; my wife isn’t a non-believer in such yet she also isn’t a believer. Somewhere in between. Always been called an old soul. When I go past a cemetery, I feel all the anger, anguish, sadness, all the emotions floating around. I find solace in those places, connected to the world. I can look at a picture/painting of just a field of grass and flowers and it evokes an emotion so profound that I have no words to describe it. My favorite kind place is a national park (nature mostly); I feel all the life that is and has been. It’s amazing, fills me with awe, I really don’t know how to describe all of it. But I’m damn sure glad I do.

I've searched for countless words to describe how good your reaction was, but they certainly aren't enough. I tend to think that Heilung isn't just a band, it's that they don't just make music, it's because of the way everyone there does it with their heart, as well as your reactions, from the first reaction it wasn't just a man watching a video, but rather a man, putting everything you feel, being as honest as possible, you are genuine, true, authentic, that's what makes you magical. It was great to understand how your faith was shaped over time and by events, it was great to understand your story of faith, and I am also extremely happy for your sincerity, for your courage in talking about such a personal subject, as well as making it well Of course, it respects individual beliefs. I confess that at the end of the video I cried a lot, but it was a cry of happiness.

They were in New Orleans last month; myself and two daughters attended the ritual, and it was an experience...unfortunately, a flawed one. Heilung was everything you could expect or hope for; some of the fans, however, were not. Sitting on the end of a row, this couple kept dancing in front of us in the walkway, blocking half the stage. We asked them to dance on the other side of the walkway, where they wouldn't block anyone. Their response? It was our fault for not getting up and dancing with them and blocking more people's view. Even after six others said something, house personnel wouldn't do anything because the performers told them to not stop people from dancing. We didn't want them to stop, we just wanted them to not do it in front of us. All that being said, it was an experience I would hope to partake in many, many more times.

I think what happens when we hear music like this (ancient and primal, in a language we don’t really understand) is that it speaks to us on a deeper level than mere words can convey. For people sensitive to emotion and the feel of things around you, music can absolutely spark that sensation within you, I’m the same way. Thank you for sharing your philosophy and journey with us as well. I’ve had a similar journey myself, and I know exactly how you feel. As I’ve gotten older, I find that it’s less about institutions and rules and doctrine, it’s more about relationships and how you deal with others. It’s so much more complex and intricate than any set of beliefs can really nail down. The thing that really helped me at my own crossroads is realizing that it’s all about people. Not about philosophy or theology, but how we relate to other people, and no matter what they believe or look like or behave, they’re all worthy of our love and respect as human beings. For me, the divine is evidenced by how we treat our fellow man. Am I perfect with this, hell no, but I try and try to make the right decisions when I’m faced with them.

There music is so deep seeded with emotional......just piercing spirituality. Being part native American I can feel this music in my soul. Brother I have made it clear in this community that I'm very much a athiest. With that said when I was in a coma about a decade ago something happened to me there that I will never be able to fully explain. I was asked to by friends so I actually filmed a bunch of videos on Tiktok telling the experience. All I will say is there is so.....SO much more.

I've had a very similar walk in my life. My upbringing was a lot like yours and I went from believing in God because of my upbringing, to becoming a full-blown atheist, to completely finding God again and completely believing with every fiber of my being. I had to humble myself completely and truly seek him before I could see the truth. I don't know why I feel compelled to tell you this, but God did not create evil and it's not in his will that we suffer. Darkness is the absence of light, cold is the absence of heat, evil is the absence of love and God. I'll be praying for you.

I love the thing you said about the forest. Tommy, sometimes the ego mind wants to make sense of things that have no explanation. Truth is, we need to 'feel' and accept with the soul. Music like this, transcends the logic, It speaks to us on a deep level because it awakens our very core to the memories of 'tribe' and our intrinsic connection to the Universe. In spite of all the 3D things in this modern world, we are sooo much more.. And to love..learning to love oneself first is the hardest thing to do..( not in an egotistical way you understand!) Love will then find you..I truly believe that! We are all on a quest of self discovery..it's not easy but it will be soo worth it ! Take care Tommy! Thankyou for your vulnerability..🤗🦋

Its my first time watching you and i loved this video. First off i must say, I was at this Ritual. In the crowd. And if you think the video is magical, being there experiencing this was beyond anything i have ever experienced. Your reaction is so pure, i once got taught to believe one way. And my spiritual journey took me elsewhere. Funnily enough with the Gods that Heilung evision and express. And this is an Awakening that's happening to so many people, Paganism is returning in a big way, to the point that Pre-Christian Faiths in general are the fastest growing religions outside of Christianity. So what you're feeling, I understand. Heilung is a movement, an expression. A voice among so many others, like Wardruna and others. Spiritual Awakening is happening. Be proud of it.

I couldnt agree more that listening to Heilung can be a spiritual experience. Their live show is a full on healing spell they are performing every night. I was fortunate enough to see them in January of this year and it was an amazing experience which I hope to be part of again very soon. You seem to be on a path where you are looking for something bigger than yourself and are finding it in a personal place rather than what you are being fed and thats a hard but rewarding process. I hope you follow where it leads you to wherever you end up. Heilung and bands like them do help very much in this process as the right songs feel like they connect you with divinity. I myself am always brought to tears when listening to Helvegen by Wardruna, it just fills me with emotion every single time. I cant say that music such as this brought me to my faith as I was pagan many years before the bands formed but they have definitely helped me connect with my gods more since hearing them. I wish you everything you need to find the peace youre looking for.

This is what Heilung is about. The healing of the soul, of our soul. We all have harsh moments in our live. I believe what we all are missing in our "modern and sophisticated" world is spiritualism. Why does myth and legend fascinate us? It is because not everything needs to be explained. We hurt, that makes us human, we cry that means can also feel joy. Crying is cathartic. Whenever I hear this song the last couple of days I cry, I cry becaue we all lost something, but I also cry because this is hope. We feel a change in ourself and it is good. We get our eyes opened to a world we lost the moment we stopped being children and became adults, because modern society forces us to kill this part of us, becaue it is "unproductiv" and doesn't fit in the capitalistic world we live in. Greed and selfishness are predominant in the world, because it is dangerously easy to be cruel and hateful, like a demon or a bad spirit posioning our thoughts and our soul. Being kind, respecting nature, respecting other and even ourself, that is what is truely importent. No, I don't think sharing your expierence with us is wrond. This song, no this music helps us confront things and share something beautiful. It is not weak to feel emotions. Only cowards repress it and laugh at others. You my friend are incredible strong, thank you for sharing this with us.

Whether or not there is a god or gods in it.. i would always choose the forest. Simply because i love forests and to feel how life lingers all around me without the stress and noise of mankind. Being in a forest with little to no sounds from mankind calms me down more than anything else. And Whenever i want to feel or experience even more i put on Heilung on my MP3-Player, sit down, and let be taken away by some, let's call it "ancient", somewhat mystical force. Once i went to the forest nearby, sat down and listened to Heilung (on just one ear, the other one open for the sound of nature) and i seriously was spiritually far far away, because the next thing i remember is, that it's gone dark (it was like 19:00 when i set off to the forest) and that Heilung wasn't playing anymore but Helheim (the following Band entry on my list) blasted my ear. All 3:40 of Heilung playtime played through and i can remember shit. :D Was a fkn great exprience for what music can do. I Love Heilung's ritualistic/shamanistic (Kai) background and for being able to create art that lets me experience something spiritual that seems to be very, very deep hidden inside me. Mankind invented technology and evolved technology to it's current state, but mankind itself didn't evolve as fast with technology. We're still the same as we were 20,000 years ago. But technology made us forget that we need nature to relax our souls and senses, imo. I can only suggest to go somewhere where mankinds noises don't reach you and listen to Heilung, be open for anything that happens. Maybe you'll experience what i did, maybe not, but for sure you'll feel something deep within.

As a man who has been through a lot of physical and mental anguish in the last 40 odd years, been wrapped up in Catholic prayer, which helped with my physical pain in the last 10 years, but always in the background was an obsession with the Occult, and pagan religions too. Found Heilung in the last year or so, and they've opened up a vast chasm under me. A chasm of beauty, emotional turmoil, and a gut wrenching realisation that my heart is in nature, in a connection with something earthy and pagan, and Heilung are the key. Not sure where I go from here. I love Jesus, and I love Nature, and I love the Nature God and Goddess. Listening to Heilung makes me want to bang a drum, chant, go into trances, and connect with old Gods and Godesses. My rational mind says it's a fantasy, but my heart and soul only come to life when I see and hear Heilung, or when I'm on the local Iron age hill in nature, or watching videos of people in trance states doing ritual. I long to find and join with people of the same mind. It might be a long journey, as I need to sort out my money problems, and my health, before i can contemplate finding and feeding my soul.

I'm with you. The one that comes to me is this, if I was a god I wouldn't want you to dive into anything else and tell you everything else is false...if I was a god. That's what comes to me personally. I know we are all on different paths, but I know being raised in around the Christian faith for almost 40 years and being told all things are false but that...it doesn't add up for me. Again this is what comes to my mind. I feel alive in nature and surrounded by trees. I feel peace and when i've been depressed and I get lost in the forest...I instantly feel better. When I was devout to the Christian faith, those were some of the loneliest years of my life. I hope no matter what you follow your soul and see where it leads.

@@TheWolffAndTheMelody Thanks for the reply. Yes, as the Bible says, 'I am a jealous God'. I tend to think any entity prone to jealousy is a very limited and unintelligent entity. One thing I have noticed, is that when one gets deep into Christianity, their lives often fall apart. Perhaps it's due to the nature of Christianity.....Suffering and carrying ones Cross, not retaliating to being abused and attacked etc. I'll admit that while praying, my physical pains were taken away. Was that God? I presume so. Was it the Christian God? Maybe not. I refuse to believe that all God's other than the Christian one are evil. I look at other cultures, with their rituals and trances, and I see the people getting what they need, spiritually and physically. The old ways, with their rituals, Gods, Mushrooms, Peyote, nature spirits, Demons etc, are just as valid, at least for me right now. Perhaps it's possible to become a follower of many systems, and ignore any one deities claims to be the 'only one'. It's pretty much universally believed that Good and Evil exist, and most religions are on the side of good. I think that, perhaps, is the only criteria that matters. Or maybe I'm wrong, and Jesus is the only way, and I'm going to burn in hell for my transgressions. But I don't think so 😎

Your spiritual awakening can be a powerful even, on occasion, a traumatic period in your life. As an old Witch I would suggest that you take care of yourself and don't let others tell you what to believe, trust your heart and find your own path. There are many kind and good people out there, but also there are those who like to feel power over others, they often set themselves up as, I suppose I might say "False Prophets". You see them in these Evangelical churches and yes even in some covens. My experience over many, many years is that your heart can guide you to YOUR true path better than listening to so called truth tellers who want to lead you. This is not to say that there are not those that we can seek out to help us along our individual path, but your path is individual to you hold true to your truth. Blessed Be! 🌒🌕🌘

Raised in a Pentecostal Christian church (my grandad was the founder of said church) but grew to loath and despise organized religion due to those experiences (my parents DID try to force it down my throat, so much more negative for me); but I've gone from hardcore atheist to more agnostic atheist as I've grown older (early 40s now), but I've always been drawn to the "other", the unseen and unknown, the intuitive and emotional. I too recall deep seeded connections to the woods and wilderness when I was a kid that has stuck with me through my entire life. Heilung have brought those feelings to the surface again.

Heilung are not a band making music they are the essence of the music on a spiritual level, this song never lets up it is life and new life it is everything good in the world, Maria as the High Priestess in this is perfect, guiding those around her beautifully, the multi layered chanting has an energy and life you will not encounter anywhere else. I was brought up Christian, but not blindly following the bible, I was always taught to question and challenge what I believe. I found something was missing and did not make any sense to me so I looked around me at what others believe, slowly I found for me Celtic Paganism makes sense, it stands up to what I wanted to question, and as I learned more I found that the Celtic ways gave me the freedom to learn and understand, I can work things out and there are no wrong answers just my answers, I will defend those I see as needing my help and give help to anybody who asks for the help, I have gained a form of wisdom based in the ancient ways, but those ways would have been at the forefront of technology as they were then, I have the utmost respect for anybody's beliefs, as long as they are honestly held, I will never preach (though I may explain myself, it can be confusing as it touches all aspects of life) I have helped many many people over the years, in the process they have helped me because sometimes it made sense of something that did not quite make sense until that moment. Big love Brother

Also listen to Kai‘s interviews - he grew up in a strictly christian family too and rebelled big time. Took a while and some wrong paths until he found that being a shaman is who he really is. Honestly, seeing someone else really "get" the feelings listening to heilung give you is amazing. I do card readings for people when i can and this is exactly the band i put on in the background, they just create the perfect spiritual energy you need when you need it most. Much love 🖤
