There's few videos on this smart ass lol since there is x2 resonators and x2 catalytic converters even changing the mufflers out for some expensive throatier mufflers won't do jack shit for performance or sound this is actually the only way shit stick.

You don't just cut them off you put a straight piece of pipe in. If you have the exhaust just under your car, carbon monoxide and moisture from the exhaust is goin to rust your car out.

Disclaimer: if you use a grinder make sure you don't have a fuel leak. Sparks can and will ignite it if you do.

@@eriv4735 You, sir, are quite ignorant of chemistry -- and obviously, a LOT of other things. Passenger Cars have had full-length exhaust pipes for over 100 years -- to carry the exhaust fumes SAFELY away from the passenger compartment. Death from Monoxide Poisoning is NOT a "theory" for you to debate. It's a FACT !

My 08 CVPI is completely straight from the manifolds to the tips. Its crazy loud at part throttle and WOT but pretty reasonable at idle and cruising.

Great video! I sawzalled the mufflers off my 05 and replaced them with 2" cherrybombs. Kept the original tailpipe but cut as close to the mufflers as possible. U clamped the cherrybombs in. Easy job. Passes inspection here in DE. If I was in Fla Id just use a piece of pipe instead. Yours sounds great though! Awesome!

It sounds amazing I loved it. And I'll probably be doing this to my vic. How about back pressure? Does the exhaust have other mufflers or resonators? Id like to keep my valves in tact lol

You increase a little more horsepower with no mufflers it sounds good

Better way to do this is just to remove the resonators and leave the piping.. If you wanna take all the piping go for it and just put back some straight stainless steel, it wouldn't cost much more and it would look even better and sound just as nice.

Why not just cut the mufflers off and put in pipe in there place??? Would sound even better

I replaced just the mufflers with glasspacks and it sounds the same. Lol. I was in a hurry and used the same length glasspacks as the mufflers were. It's only a bit 'throatier' under acceleration.

Ramps are the way to go for most vic underworld work. I still add a couple stands on the downhill side of the ramps to catch the car if God forbid it starts to roll.

See my bolts where rusted shut, and my car doesn't have rust,so I got a zag saw and cut it completely out, also did not have any sparks. It was a tad easier to cut it out since i have the single exhaust

We build cars that don’t come with cats in the first place and I’ve been ase certified probably longer than you’ve been alive..I’ve also been driving a car with a dumped exhaust longer than I’ve been certified wil absolutely no negative affects..a real professional mechanic knows that even the “shade tree” guys know a thing or two and even bring them work their shops can not legally do from time to time..I can see clearly you’ve never built anything 🤣😂

I just replaced the stock ones with two cherry bombs and a resonator cup on each it cost me about 70 bucks and I was able to craft some sick side exit exhausts before the rear tires with the left over exhaust pipe. Used an angle grinder to make them shiny then some high temp enti rust to keep them looking good. Car sounds loud enough and deep enough without the nasty drone on the highway.

Bro, please at least put some turn down pipes or angled pipes at the end of that H pipe and angle them to the side or down so you don't get C02 poisoning. Also, I ran cheap glasspacks on my Vic and it sounded just as good and I still kept my tail pipes. Be safe bro!

Walker has the H-pipe you'll need. Next are the mufflers. The MagnaFlow GlassPax have a 2", straight-through design, with NO LOUVERS inside that restrict the flow. Louvered mufflers have a built-in restriction that's caused by the louvers extending into the flow area. Thrush GlassPack Mufflers are louvered. FlowMasters !!??? Flowmasters are internally-baffled mufflers, and are TUNED to produce power at a certain RPM level -- outside that RPM level, there's NO power gain! Flowmasters are HEAVIER than the MagnaFlow Glasspax, and they COST too much for what you get (mostly noise). On a Vic, the 2" pipe is optimal -- smaller is restrictive at high revs, and a larger pipe diameter will reduce extraction (extraction is good!), so keep with the 2" pipe throughout.'95 MERC running Walker H-Pipe, 2" x 21" MagnaFlows #18134, Walker Tailpipes, Superior Angled Tips. Smooth, powerful tone at 2,000 Rpm (80 mph) -- no barking or rasping -- and NO droning like ya get with the damned FlowMasters.

This may actually reduce HP/Tq because the exhaust has to have some back pressure to function properly. Plus anytime you're at a stop light with this mod, the fumes will certainly leak into the cabin.

I modified the Y-Pipe on the '95 MERC -- ran a 2 1/2- inch pipe from the Y to a point about 4" in front of the Right-Rear wheel, and cut the old pipe & muffler off. Pretty loud, but pulled alongside the California Highway Patrol at 75 mph on the freeway, and the Copper didn't flinch -- with the exhaust pointed right at him !! It was too noisy, with bad droning that caused headaches. Replaced with Walker H-Pipe, MagnaFlow Glasspax, and Walker Tailpipes. Smooth, powerful sound -- with no droning.

What do you think of the Lincoln Town Car? I was thinking of getting me a cheap Vic, but I thought it would be better to just hold on to my Explorer until I can get my hands on a black Town Car - black makes all the difference in that car!

Duals with open exhausts and some models of FlowMasters will drone over long distances at high speeds. Remember, if your "new" exhaust system DRONES, it's gonna cost a ton of cash to fix the problem.

It's cheaper to straight pipe it and leave the existing stock tail pipes.

I did the exact same thing to my 2003 P71. It sounded good but at 40-50mph it vibrates the entire interior to the point where the noise physically hurts your head on extended trips. Would not recommend. Buy a real exhaust set up, or at least some weld in mufflers with dumps.

It won’t drown anymore if you pipe the exhaust out from underneath. It’ll be surprising quiet with the windows up.

My 08 vic has only the 2 pre cats and straight pipe and 17inch long 5and 3/4 inch diameter tips that i made from toyota camry resonators

So...now you have short pipes and the coach will fill with exhaust fumes if you get stuck in traffic. Plus...being a P-71 the 4.6 has been modded from the factory for performance. Have you considered what the back pressure will be like on the lifters and valves and the damage it will cause over time?? A super charger or a turbo plus a K&N air breather and it will sound the same way except the noise will be under the hood where it belongs along with massive amounts of get up and go.This is NOT a smart thing to do people it will DESTROY your engine!

i'd really like to do this with my 2011, but we have annual inspections here in PA :'(

nope it doesnt affect your sensors...as long as you dony cut the catalytic converters the car wont give you a check engine light👍 and the length is towards the middle of the car its very far from the gas tank

You only get carbon monoxide poisoning when you cut before the catalytic converters. Cutting anywhere past them won't kill you.

Passes smog with no muff ?

Crown Vics are so cool! I want one so bad! I bought an '13 Impala instead since at the moment, it seemed a better deal. The Impala is definitely quicker with the 3.6 V6 and 6-speed, but nothing beats a rear-wheel drive V8! (Plus the sound!!) It'll be a while before I can get a new car.

Been there, done that. My crown vic had too much drone. No matter the rpm range. It was unbearable. I threw on cherry Bomb turbo mufflers and saved my ears.

Alright alright! Put some weight on it! Also I don't like the neon green Crown Victoria but to each their own. God bless and yours.

Car didn't seem to like the cold air set up. I put stock intake back in and she fires right back up and stays on

So many other ways. If your state has an inspection don't do this you will never pass. A hack saw with a metal blade will do the same thing. Also replace the muffler either with a pipe or glass packs or cherry bombs if you don't want a traditional muffler again only if you don't have to worry about inspection

I did it to my 2008 crown vic sounds good for a free mod but I'm going to get stainless works headers and full exhaust but I don't have 2 grand at the moment. I'm happy with it for the time being.
