I worked on all the minesweepers from the RH53D to the MH53E over 16 years in the Navy. Awesome Helicopter.

I first saw the 53 at Camp Lejeune while playing soccer on a field in 1967. After flying around for a while, we were shocked to see two of the fly complete loop. We were shocked. I saw them at different times and places as time on, including Vietnam. As a young parachutist at Camp Pendleton one day, after a jump from a CH46, a CH53 came in. We were asked if we wanted to jump from the bigger bird as they departed. Silly question. Great log entry.

I came across this video due to the fact that I was ever so lucky to see one fly into an airport yesterday, just amazing. I had no idea the name of this aircraft so I began researching.

The Chinook is very loud, you can hear them for miles and they usually travel in pairs. I had two land in front of my house in a soccer field when the King of Something visited the little school in my hometown (Cal Berkeley). The week prior FBI agents came in our house and interviewed us all and looked out our windows. They literally were the men in black.

Defiance's is beautiful. Fast holds a. Lot of troops. But its all politics. The best doesn't always win. Look at the F22 and the F23 I think the F23 was a better designed. But what do I know its only my tax dollars. Watch the Japanese will revive it and it will be a beast
