  • @The2Coolest2
    @The2Coolest22 жыл бұрын

    There's many tests for brake boosters, this is one of many. Mine has a minor leak but not enough to warrant a replacement yet. It eventually makes the engine run lean after a while. It looks like it was replaced with a Bosch unit (mine is an 07 ES) by the previous owner but it has failed. You can actually have your current one in your car rebuilt rather buying a rebuilt unit as well. But a lot of cars it's a pain to get to the boosters, they're so deep in you have to disassemble half of the area. Thankfully mine has direct access.

    Thanks Scotty! Looks like my master cylinder may have went. Have an 01 Impreza. Had a leak in my drivers side brake hose. Replaced both the front, went to bleed all 4 brakes and brake pedal still goes to the floor. Stiff went pumped with the car off, but when turned on, the pedal goes to the floor, so that gives me an indication the booster is still working. Anything else I should be looking for as to what is causing it to drop to the floor still? Any advice is appreciated. No other visible leaks.

    I have a weird one. My abs sensor and traction control light turned. I already know the pedals will feel funny because of the ABS being turned off and on so the brake feeling would change. I noticed that when the ABS was back on my brake got very sensitive, one little tap, the car would be stopped like I had pressed the brakes hard. I also pressed the brakes hard and for sure it stopped quickly. I have already replaced all the sensors and also did a line test and I had a good signal on all the harnesses and sensors. There are no leak anywhere. If you have experienced this issue or how to go about further diagnosing the issue. Any help would be appreciated Thanks

    I just had a collision where the master cylinder was pressed on by the fuse box, no noticeable damage to the exterior of the master cylinder but the brake lines were pushed over a little (not pinched). My brake pedal is acting like the system is not getting enough vacuum, the pedal becomes stiff, BUT the brakes are EXTRA sensitive and do not fully disengage unless I come to a complete stop and force the pedal to the floor for a full range of motion of the pedal. If I'm in slow but moving traffic where I only partially brake, not coming to a complete stop, the brakes stick/drag and if I'm on the highway the truck starts shaking because it's like I'm riding the brakes and they're heating up so I have to pull onto the shoulder, stop completely and fully force the stiff pedal to the floor and release in order for the brakes to release. The idiots at the dealer said it's not a result of the collision, just a coincidentally failed vacuum pump. They're idiots, the brakes work, TOO good, the OPPOSITE of what happens with low vacuum. but the pedal is stiff, the breaks are SUPER touchy. What's the deal? Before I go play process of elimination, throwing random parts at the problem. 2017 Silverado, L86

    My vehicle doesn't have a booster and the brakes are always the hard and mostly work off the combination of prayer and quenching my butt cheeks harder than holding a fart in at church. If it weren't for it being a stick, I don't believe I'd honestly manage to stop

    Is there a manual tensioner? The new belt may stretch a little at first, and it will need to be retightened.
