I remember back in 1984, I walked up on a huge lodge. There was a blanket beaver out swimming around. I sat still as I watched as the beaver submerged, pin pointing the entrance, as the bottom was all rock with no mud trails. I waded out and placed a Victor 330 in the run. The next day, I came upon a huge 65 Lbs beaver floating on the surface. This 14 year old hauled that beaver several miles home while listening to Huey Lewis' SPORTS album blasting on a boom box in the wicker pack basket. Sphagnum Pond, Black Rock Forest, December, 1984.

And then where do you think the beavers would go? Right to the next tree that doesn't have it which is the next neighbors property and problem. No matter where they go they do damage on certified lakes. Hence then need to be managed

Iron wood, (American Hornbeam) 3 kinds of it that I know of,& oak. Both very slow growing varieties of hardwoods. Typical that beavers would destroy such slow growing good hardwoods. Do them justice!!!

I'm so tired of people saying that if anyone is out of breath. Doesn't matter that he's wearing waders, dragging around a sled half the time, slogging through mud and snow, hammering sticks into the bottom, climbing down and up out of beaver runs. Nooooo, can't be that he's physically exerting himself. Can't be that he has a slight cough or something caught in his throat. It's like you never have done any physical activities in the cold.

Such a naive childish person, biased by Disney's fairytales. Beavers are the most destructive pests on the planet, regardles whether you are aware of that obvious fact or not. These damned pests destroyed my whole property, drained my pond by ripping holes in levees an caused death of majority of fishes. Stay naive child.
