I am Malayali but living in chennai and my other roommates are from Delhi and MP. They have discrimination over everything eg:food and people eat using hands, why men wear dhothi, different language, color of the people, don't know hindi and they talk in hindi making fun of all these thinking I don't know hindi. One day I gave a befitting reply to them in hindi. They had no clue I was born and brought up in Gujarat. They were so embarrassed and with in a month they moved to a new place. Malayali Rocks

Same was the case with me . I am Bengali .... from Kolkata, West Bengal. I have also been bullied in North India a lot because of our language, culture , food habits , skin color , physique and everything as though even being a small child at school and society . We also wear dhoti , panjabi . They could not absorb our habits. They did not even accept me as an Indian and told that you are not Indian. And even had told me that you are not Hindu Even though I am Hindu Brahmin Those people are the worst ever one could ever find.

You are lucky in that case. Otherwise majority North Indian population always discriminate south Indians because of dark colour. But these North Indians have zero brains, they even lack basic education. They think Karnataka, Kerala and all are same and everyone eats only dosa, idli. They don't know that there is huge variety in south Indian cuisine like appam, dosa, fish moilee, Malabar parotta, mysore dosa and so on. And they know how to fool and deceive people and earn money while South Indians are intelligent and hard working. That is why all the Indian CEOs in the world are South Indians.😍😍 and they are jealous of that. I love my South Indian friends

Very true, they have the entitlement mentality. Forget the discrimination in North, the worst part is they move to south India and expect us to speak their language. Bangalore is not longer in south India. Their Hindi already killed the local la gauge Kannada. Here the communication language is Hindi now. Even after living in Bangalore for decades they don’t attempt to learn the local language. They don’t have basic sense/decency to speak in English at office even in the presence of others who don’t understand hindi. Hypocrites

INQUISITION IN GOA ORDERED BY FRANCIS XAVIER In 1545 Francis Xavier, frustrated -- wrote to Rome ( this letter is preserved ) and to the King - QUOTE “ The Hindus are an unholy race. They are liars and cheats to the very backbone. Their idols are black-as black as black can be- ugly and horrible to look at , smeared with oil and smell in a evil manner. “--UNQUOTE The Portugese viceroy Constantine De Braganza had ensconced himself in the Sultan’s palace. He was unceremoniously told to buzz off from there and 200 prison cells were built-ordered by the Pope. The Taj Hotel at Fort Aguada was also used as a torture cell. There was no limit to the types and cruelty of the tortures. The inquisition meant anything was allowed. The inquisitors were sadistic and mentally disturbed. An "Inquisition" was supposed to be a legal inquiry by the church. After the poor victims confessed to things they never did more torture was to follow. On the way to the stake or gallows victims were flogged, burned, branded and had their hands and tongues hacked off. A sharp iron fork was used to mangle breasts. Red hot pincers were used to tear off flesh. Red hot irons were inserted up vaginas and rectums. A device named the turcas was used to tear out fingernails. After the nails were ripped out needles were shoved in. Boots called bootikens were used to lacerate flesh and crush bone. Brutal methods used were - To tear off the tongues-- To blind the victim with sharp sticks or red-hot iron spikes-- The pulling of the flesh with pliers-- The skinning of the accused alive-- Quartering (in which the victims intestines would be pulled from the body) and impaling, in which a stake would be hammered through the victim’s body avoiding the vital organs, resulting in a slow death that could last for hours or days. The masses were converted into Christianity, saddled with Portuguese surnames , given menial jobs, made to eat Beef and Pork and drink cheap Feni ( a local brew made of Cashew and Coconut ). This easy inebriated life destroyed their mindset and till today no Catholic Goan boy has passed the IIT entrance exam. ( ala the Red Indians of North America and the Aborigines of Australia ) All the persons above 15 years of age were compelled to listen to Christian preaching, failing which they were punished. In 1583 all Hindu temples at Assolna and Cuncolim were destroyed through army action. Convered Hindus , who were detected to secretly hold their old religion in esteem were burnt at the stake or brutally tortured.

I have been discriminated since childhood for the same reason that i was south indian. During school days my class teacher made me dress up like shri krishna because i was dark and when i said to her i want to dance she said no you be shree krishna and just stand in the centre all the time during the performance. I was so much into dancing that when an opportunity came and an announcement was made wherein those who are interested in learning bharatnatyam for school's silver Jubilee function can come to dance room in the afternoon , i was so excited and i went and i heard dance teacher saying that she is not fair so reject her. This happened when i was in 9th. I was discriminated by teachers and classmates because of my skin color . Once my teacher asked everyone in class what's the difference between south indian and north indian and one of my classmates stood up and said south indians are dark and he pointed out on me saying that look she is dark means she is south indian. I completed my schooling in a convent school in Madhya pradesh , the school was filled with south indians since it was a convent school still they discriminated mainly on the basis of skin color. I cannot explain how all these incidents effect a kid and that time there was no counselling , no social media awareness nothing.

Then in south itself there is Discrimination between a tamilian, malayali, andhra...and other people. Similarly in north. Then lets take kerala as an example, Discrimination between north kerala and south kerala people. Finally if i take a place like trivandrum, people Discriminate according to places one lives..like this is posh locality, thats where poor lives, this is a brahmins area, here there are lots of Christians, there lives the muslim population...this all happens within the city. Same story everywhere. But when we indians go outside the country, i don't find this sort of Discrimination, they we all are indians, they get along well with people of our neighboring countries too.
