I own a 2008 Ford F150 with the 5.4 L and everyone has had or will have a problem with the Passenger side Back Spark plug. I found this simple solution to that and it virtually makes getting that particular plug out ( which you didn't do in this video) Simply remove the Computer and Bracket from the Passenger side fire wall and you will gain easy access to that rear passenger side plug. I discovered this to make changing plugs on the 5.4 a very painless and more pleasant experience. You don't have to take my word for it but it will make a difference.

Just got my mechanic to change the plugs at 170k miles today. 2007 5.4L and now there’s no slight engine shake or hesitation going from 45-50 MPH. Even the drivers seat stopped vibrating now. Motorcraft is the way to go, thanks for the video! Awesome

w When I hit 100k on my 2006, I looked online for info about spark plug change. Didn't take long for me to get it to my mechanic. By this time Ford had established procedures and engineered 2 tools to assist with removal - one if the plug actually broke off and another to help extract a non-broken plug. And there was a special solvent to soak the plug in an attempt to get it to release. My mechanic had the truck for 8 days. He worked on it, very gentle turns on the plugs, for an hour every morning. He ended up needing to purchase both tools. Final bill - 8 plugs @ $15/per plus labor for a total of $325. I know Ronnie didn't make any money on the job. Probably lost money, not to mention his labor. That's why a good mechanic is worth his weight in gold.

EITHER THE CHRYSLER OR ZILLA PENETRATING OIL IS A LIFE SAVER!! Years of die hard PB blaster use before trying these other 2 What I try and do is run the engine to temperature then pull the coil then try loosing or saturating the plugs a day or week before the repair

Dang that 5.4 runs good dude, mine does too, but it's bone stock,,, well I say bone stock, and it is for the engine, transmission etc, but I had a North Dakota dealer install a block heater for my Louisiana bought truck, and had the local car audio shop in Williston install a nice Astro Start remote start, a must have in an extreme cold climate, or waste all kinds of time, while having to work oilfield hours, waiting for the 5.4 3V to warm up properly before driving in below zero temps

Rock n Roll, dude...that engine sounds great. That plug was jacked...did you eyeball the top of that piston with a camera? Cuz it looks like the top of it hit the plug for it too get bent like that? Or it was damage when installed and if that's the case and it ran well, then that gap doesn't appear to be crucial. You're lucky it didn't break off and destroy the cylinder. I would have insisted on taking a look with a camera anyway.

Motorcraft is the best for the triton period. If you have upgraded your truck and would slightly like to improve the only possible upgrade as far as plugs go. Edelbrock coilpacks. Pack a dyno tested 20% spark increase And Ford performance makes one set of performance plugs for these engines. They are hard to find. But even then I would not recommend using them unless you have already tuned your truck cold air intake. Andy, big BBK 80MM Throttlebody. And even that throttle body is snakeoil, Because your intake is smaller in diameter. So unless you HONE your intake, you have gained nothing. But if you make these modifications, it is worth it. Combined with an electric fan swap, it is an amazing difference. I. Also run a true Ram hood to my cold air intake. Dramatic difference, but I still use motorcraft plugs E3 Is a lawnmower plug, Hope this comment save someone some trouble

E3 plugs absolutely suck brother do yourself a favor and run motor craft. E3s don’t hold up, poor design, not to mention you can see all over yours how cheap that metal is to corrode so fast I mean 50k? I pulled a 120k mile set of motor crafts out of my 05 f150 and they looked way better then those

Those E3 are garbage .i think there was a video on these saying they were prone to corrosion and porcelain chipping from heat.and are prone to multiple misfires

These are the absolute cheapest worst plugs in the world. If you own a triton motor, don't put ANYTHING in it except AutoLite or oem ford

You complicated yourself on doing your plugs bud I don’t gotta undo anything but undo the coils

This is true, I just mainly do it for video purposes and it can make it easier for me not having every thing in the way. Some people take the ecu out to do the back plug on the passenger side, but it’s just about preference. For sure you can do them without undoing anything but the coil.

I had one of those E3 plugs detonate inside the motor, almost damaging my engine. They are trash. I mashed the gas going up a hill and the plug failed.
