I installed the same exact kit on my 2005 unfortunately I didn’t hammer in completely those bolts in the undersize holes and after a week of running it there’s cracking noises on every turn . I’ll have to take them back off and re install hope that fixes my issue . It sucks that the installation instructions don’t come more specific , for instance the issue of the holes and they don’t tell to what spects to torque down bolts . Guess we get what we pay for .

i got a 04 lariat crewcab with a set up like this truck for 1500 due to noises under the truck the owner though it was the transmission going out and dindnt want to waste money he got 2013 coyote f150 instead turns out was the 4x4 shift motor on the transfer case and the actuators on the wheels engaging randomly just recently install the 6 inch rough country and some used 20x35 i really like the look but now i cant u turn in thigh streets like before but still a decent looking toy without breaking the bank

I am not sure the offset. They are 18" wheels from an Expedition.

Trucks naturally sit with the rear end higher to account for hauling heavy loads so if you add 2" or so of leveling kit in the front it should match the factory rear height pretty well.

So the lower bolt for the shock tower is so far away and even with bending the lower control arm as far as it will go still being bolted up it’s still far off. Can I just lossen the lower control arm move it doen then install the shock tower?

You should be able to and they will correct it when you get an alignment after 👍🏼

Did you did something to the back or just level the front with the back and sorry what was the leveling kit measure you use

Nothing on the back. I just measured with a tape measure.

I am planning on doing this 2.5 inch rough country leveling kit, but after I do it do I need to get an alignment for all 4 tires? Or can I just get an alignment for the front 2?

Get a 2 axle alignment since you are gonna be installing a 1 inch lift block on the rear axle as well. Just to make sure everything is straight

Just the front 2. I didn’t put any blocks or anything in the rear but the rear suspension doesn’t have any adjustment on these trucks. Some places will still just charge you for 4 wheel just to hook it all up.

I got the truck for $4,600 but it was in rough shape. I’m a little over $10k into it total as of now.

Dude my UCA is like touching my shock and I’m worried it’s to much pressure and it’s a bad angle for the ball joint. Are those stock UCA or should I get ones made for a lift?

I kinda did an alignment on mine myself I put the original bolts right in the middle and it seems fine I just a a clink noise but everything is new what could it be ?? A loose bolt ??

I’ve got a 08 fx2 and mine does the same. I’ll be installing some cheapo Amazon 2-4 inch lift upper control arms tomorrow. Hopefully those correct the angle

Will this put excessive wear and tear on the suspension?

It will. But I would say nothing major in my opinion, if anything it accelerates an issue. You are adding an angle that isn’t accounted for in the stock geometry. It’s not something most people have an issue with but if you’re riding on 15 year old suspension in the first place it’s bound to have an issue or two. For example my upper control arm ball joints are splitting now after 2 years. I’m going to look into replacing with upgraded ones.

Do the headlights need to be readjusted after the lift?

I don’t think so.

Everything was helpful I changed all my suspension at the end and torqued every to specifications but when u drive it I hear a clunk noise ?? Idk what it could be ?? The upper control arm looks separated but when I kept tightening it I broke the bolt and had to redo everything any helpful hints ???

None! Alignment has been good and rides great a year later 👍🏼

yeah but when I did it my toe in I so outta wack I can't even drive it to get an alignment 😭

Ya I gotta say I’ve been lucky with that growing up in Vegas. Never been much of an issue past some surface rust here and there. I’ve watched a few KZread videos from other states and I couldn’t imagine dealing with that on top of the regular challenges of installs like this.
