Hey Jamie!! Another Great tutorial!! One thing i might change... Place the drop shadow after the DVE.. when it is before, the shadow rotates like the light is changing, and that seems unnatural to me.. Cheers!

@@JamieFennor you rotate 90dgrees -> then 180 again... that way it looks like it's rotating but the shadow stays on the same side, no?

Because of the angle I had to go to the other side of the rotation because it doesn't make it to the angle that I wanted if I went the other way. Doesn't matter anyways as long as the shadow matches the lighting source. @@NickAVellii

Hi Jamie. Let me start by saying that you make some really awesome effects. Really love them. Now there's one thing i hope you will consider for future tutorial vids. And that's the following...I edit video's for years now and from After Effects i'm starting out using (and learning) resolve. As anybody stated, the fusion page is a steap learning curve and i fully agree with that. Now, i have some problem keeping up with your tutorials as i often have to look and find where you are with your mouse, where you clicking on etc. eventually i find it and i can continue the tut, but sometimes it takes some time :-) Now, i haven't seen all your videos yet (planning too) so i dont know if you ever use some kind of ' mouse locator' of some kind, but it would be very convinient for us to track down where you are clicking on. You do call out the names of buttons and options and so forth...but as a beginner in fusion i dont know all those names and locations yet. I hope this is something you will consider adding to your tutorials. To end this post, i would like to thank you for above tutorial. Its really awesome and i see alot of use for it 🙂

Fantastic tutorial! However, I'm facing a bit of a hiccup - I can't seem to locate the patch replacer in my current version (18.6.4). Instead, only the latlong patcher pops up, and it seems to require the paid version. Any insights on finding the patch replacer? Keep up the great work!

Hi Jamie, I'm just starting with davinci resolve and just wondering if you could show some simple giant effects and the best way to do them. There are people showing how to do them on other programs but can't seem to find any for davinci resolve. Thanks.

0:52 If you've made the same stupid mistake I did and are wondering why the speed doesn't change when you drag the clip...you actually have to drag the ends of the clip at the top of the clip and not just in the middle of the clip as usual. Maybe I was able to help someone who was just as surprised as I was as to why the speed doesn't change. XD

I used my particle plugin/transition (see the link inside my description of this video) I filmed a clean plate and used the plugin as a transition going into the clip of me sitting there.

Are you using the free version? If you do t have the patch replacer you can duplicate the freeze frame inside fusion and polygon mask a part of the hood and move it over the logo.

Its too difficult. CapCut has IA masking, why does not Davinci?

It’s for both. But instead of using the patch replacer you can duplicate mediain1 and use a polygon mask to cover the logo. You’ll just have to use a transform to move over the masked out part like I did with the patch replacer
