Trent... this guy is pretty smooth! A friend of mine has a local car lot and had a nice car in for service. He sold Volvo and BMW used cars. He sent the owner of the service car home in a very nice BMW while the work was done on his car. My son was looking for a car so I stopped to see my friend for a few minutes and guess what... the service job was finished. The owner was buying the BMW and my son ended up buying the car in for service after a short test drive. Your Kitfox friend who just "happening to loan you that brand new whizbang Rotax powered rocket ship" was just watching you sail away, laughing to himself, saying "You'll be back my friend... sooner than you think!" That's just smart marketing. Know your product. Know your customer. Know when to put the two together. That's how you spell "Done Deal!!" ;^)

That's the same thing I said about the LIl' BItts Biplane, I'd rename it Lil Titts and promote the hell out of it. But these companies are too stupid to recognize that kind of opportunity. And I hang out on the same aircraft forum as the guy that bought the Lil Bitts rights last year... and I'm all over that sight, and have said as much... so, go figure. Love your videos. Extra horsepower is always welcome for a plane. Burn more fuel but the climb performance makes it worthwhile on hot days or in higher terrain. I fly a Bonanza. They started with 225hp in early 1950s then progressed up to 250, 260, 285 and finally 300hp. Every time the gain in performance made a wonderful airplane even better.

So cool Trent. I was watching the comparison and my first thought was this is not fair; the turbo Kitfox is departing on pavement. Then u swapped and the turbo still walked away. In my previous life I owned a 210 HP M20K Turbocharged Mooney. The non-turbo 200HP J model actually did better up to about 10k’ but between there and 12k the K model shinned, and then we routinely flew the Mooney 231 at 17,500. I think the Kitfox 915iS is going to be a winner. A lot of versatility.

Way back in the early 70's I bought a new type of hover craft called an Air Cycle. It would hover over any flat service like water or ice and would go about 70 mph on ice but extremely hard to control. It had a 33 hp Rotex engine. Up until that I had never heard of Rotex.

High points were Kittyhawk, Chicago, Dubuque Iowa, Rapid City/Mount Rushmore, Ogden Utah, Wendover field UT, Lake Powel UT, Monument Valley, Santa Fe, Tulsa, then home to JAX. What I would have given for a turbo on our C172 😎, especially flying the last ridge into Santa Fe.

For pretty much a brand new plane with a higher end motor it's not a lot. Its half the price of the average house. A little over double that of a high end car. Planes can last for 60+ years. you can get loans to buy them and it wouldn't be a cheap monthly payment but its doable for a number of people.
