No, it just means you were raised by good women. I was anti-feminist for a great amount of time because all the women around me, especially my family, were sexist against themselves and conformed to the patriarchy. Which is also why they all thought it was acceptable to bully me for having big tits, being overweight, and enjoying traditionally male hobbies. All of which was also a likely contributor to why I do not identify as female despite being AFAB. I've met excellent female role models now, so my own sexism has calmed down, but yes, it is entirely possible, in fact, one could argue, commonplace, for women to be sexist against themselves. After all, we still live in a patriarchal structure.

I looked forward to seeing every day shows like Batman, X-Men, Power Rangers etc. I only ever liked wearing shorts or track pants with t shirts. I enjoyed fishing and gold mining with my dad. But I also enjoyed playing with horse toys and riding ponies, and watching some girly shows, and enjoyed doing crafts and baking with mum. Video games are a big form of escapism, so we get a lot 'colorful' people - just miserable types that are really unhappy with their lives. So they naturally gravitate toward games to escape from the issues... and naturally, a lot of their worst parts are on full display. Holy shit, the level of outward bigotry I experience sometimes is completely bonkers. Like some of these people never left the 00's, you know? Publicly you might see gamers saying 'keep politics out of my games', and yet as soon as they think they're safe, they go completely mask off with the racism, homophobia, sexism, transphobia... all of it. Just pull out the hate list and check every box. And you make a grand point; I am never completely sure, if this guy I'm playing with... is a total piece of shit at heart? At least it usually doesn't take too long to find out - they're really chomping at the bit for fellow bigots to get cozy with.

Could have ended the video at 59 seconds. Literally conversation ending point. As a gay amab (trans nb) feminist, I will always go directly to the argument that women who propose anti-women arguments or laws get to shut up and make a sandwich, their ability to think or speak is forfeit - let other women live their lives with absolute freedom, let everyone express their sex and gender and orientation freely and consensually.

Seeing my mom be completely dependent on a man has made me not want to be the same way. I am a bi woman who has both masculine and feminine qualities. I want to be able to fix my car on my own and renovate my house like my aunt does. My aunt has showed what it’s like to be an independent strong ass woman and that’s how id prefer it to be and my boyfriend agrees and loves the fact I want to be able to do more with my life than be a traditional stay at home wife or whatever lmfao were equals and I couldn’t ask for anything more.

I feel like most people are still stuck in the habit of picturing sex work as prostitution on the street and pornos by default. I think it’s much more common nowadays for sex workers to just be regular people who are happy with their bodies or sexuality and already want to show it off, and charging viewers for it is just a plus. Not all sex workers do things out of necessity or obligation or even have sex as part of their job. Some people just want to show off their goods and get a nice cash reward and praise

I think we can even broader this to care work in general! Looking after children, looking after the elderly, looking after those with illnesses and disabilities - not just medical but also social care, looking after your friends and family, looking after yourself! I invested a lot of time and energy supporting my brother who has schitzophrenia but I doubt I'm ever going to be able to put that on my resume. Just bringing up that I have a family member with a severe mental illness is something that feels taboo, that I'm probably better of pretending he doesn't exist. The fact that the part of my life that I'm most proud of is something that didn't earn me any money of a piece of paper with my name of - it's very gender-non-conforming IMO. And I'm glad. Burn down the patriarchy and restrictive gender norms. Furthermore, I think care work deserves more recognition and compensation in general - too often it's taken for granted or invisible. It's only when things really break down that the need is seen. Aged care, child care, mental health support etc. are essential to a healthy society, but too often those areas are neglected. The people most affected have bariers to representing themselves, and the care workers are hardly listened to because they don't have the social or economic power to push in the ways that are really felt.

She and others like her are exactly the reason it's so hard to be LGBTQ+.These people are so bad at connecting the dots to see the bigger picture. She tells her son bluntly that it's not okay to be gay or trans and implies she will never accept him if he is. Can you imagine what that would do to his psyche if he was actually gay or trans? To hear over and over again that you'll never be accepted if you decide to come out to her. I feel for her kid if he ever expresses to her that he's different in any way.

Appreciate the editor's doing the work to give people definitions of stuff. Edit: Can't wait for ppl to understand that sex workers who choose to do sex work actually enjoy sex and giving the gift of intimacy to others. We gotta stop thinking of Johns as the stereotype and think of all the types of people who seek sex workers. Some of them are people who are physically disabled and sex work is the only way they are able to get intimacy because our society deems disabled people to be undesirable and not needing sex. Gay people in the closet often seek sex workers of their same gender. Sex work, real sex work is beautiful.
