That Electra Laser was the first auger I bought for myself. Like you, the battery was a piece of crap. I'd recommend trying one of the new lithium batteries in it. Like a Marcum Brute.

That's good to know, I was using a flasher battery I had laying around which I must not had been charged in a while. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll have to keep my eye out!

Thanks for asking, should be up tonight and yes, it will be the trip! Had to focus on midterms the last few weeks.

Can't you just put a new impeller on his engine and roll out? Seems alot easier then all the work you had to do with your boat.

Yep, that would be easier, but every marine dealer we contacted either didn’t have the impeller on hand or couldn’t order it in for multiple weeks. We eventually found a place on the east coast and overnighted it back the day before we left so we had an out if needed. With that being said, it’s a good thing it didn’t work out as we found out yesterday that even with the new impeller, the outboard is still not circulating water throughout the block so there’s some other underlying issue.
