This looks GREAT Dave! This is next-level work! I can see you've finally gotten some of your dream features in this one, and this looks like a great platform to keep on growing. Between the boat project as a whole and this video series, you've really put in quite the work, I'm impressed!

Amazing to see this. Your the one who actually inspired me to get a 12 foot Jon boat with a yami 6hp. I couldn’t find a solid 9.9 at the time. Now I’m in the world of getting a 14 foot with deck, trolling motor, and a 15. Going to use your videos to see how you did the decks. Keep up the good work

Feeling a little weird. Smacks himself in the face lol
Looks great! Been watching alot of your stuff lately...curious have you looked at a foam vs carpet (seakdek or hydro turf etc) about to redo a 14ft valco

Yep, I have looked into it and done some research on hydro turf. It's becoming rapidly popular, but I personally just like the look and feel of carpet in a boat. I know there's some unique qualities specific to hydro turf, but I'm not a huge fan of the feel of EVA foam and in my experiences, carpet seems to have more traction in the rain and stays cooler in the sun. Maybe it was just a bad experience, I thought about adding some to the inside cockpit floor just to try out and see how it holds up. It seems to be a tossup between guys and more of a personal preference type of thing. Hope this helps!

@@mikeprater6898 Sorry! Had to watch through the videos again to double check. I used 5/8" 5 ply for the top decks because of the large hatches they needed to cover with no support on the front deck. I managed to get away with 1/2" marine plywood for the subfloor because of the short distance between the hull's stringers.

@MissionForFishing

@@maxmerckx We used two coats of exterior latex-based paint to seal the plywood with some TEC brand indoor/outdoor carpet adhesive from Menard's.
