@@loudspl1that motor will be just fine . The gen3 motors have forged internals from factory . Not anything extreme but definitely capable of handling 500hp . What he needs to keep an eye on is the wtq. As long as it’s tuned well that motor will be just fine

@AD-ll4iz for now yes but also have a ea113 thats getting built and will probably move up to a G30-900 at some point but keen to see what the G25-660 will do on a built motor. Just the usual stuff. Rods. Pistons. ARP everything. Valve springs etc

Aiming for 450whp (pump gas) on my manual mk7.5 this summer. Any suggestion on the clutch?

These things are quick stock , this thing would run close to the 10's 1/4 . I ran a stock one a few weeks back and i was shocked at how i didnt absolutely walk it

I had a Mk6 GTI Stage 2 DSG, loved that car, I want a Mk7 R DSG, wouldn't bother with a manual.

I have a similar build with different turbo and get 22-24mpg usually.

5:30 but the manual is slower buddy. You'll never beat a dsg 😂

A Golf R is what gti owners wish they had . Awd , ko4 ,bigger brakes all stock. A gti stage 1 is still slower than a stock R.

Evo killer what 😂

I don’t need or want a big turbo Golf. I’m happy with my old school Mk5 R32, may not be as fast but sounds way better and has more mojo than the newer VW R’s. Like this guy jokingly said after blowing a few turbos, “keep it stock”…..Waste of money…..My Golf is stock apart from the exhaust having a resonator delete. Can’t say I’m a fan of the sound of this car, the pops and gurgles sound is stupid, just my opinion. I like the NA VR6 sound better. Each to their own…..I’d rather a RS3 over this featured car…..

i've said it to ppl before, AWD digs off the line. if you have straight roads its "more fun" FWD is usually better and more fun in the corners. AWD Fun from around 500HP - FWD Fun from around 300HP Thats when they start to get squirly and alive. still very handelable but will start to fight back :P Personally im enjoying the heck out of my i30N with 300hp 400Nm, makes all the right noises and hooks around corners like a champ. just kinda sad the Golf is a really bad stereotype here, they have tons of potential, but i wanted something different. (from the netherlands ;)

You must be an EVO owner lol. Whats funny is I worked with a guy who had an EVO 5 with a stock turbo, but built motor and dyno tuned. He said he was 340whp. Biggest EVO fanboy I’ve ever met. He was always asking me to race. I have an IS38 MK7 GTI 6spd. So the day I quit that job, we went and raced. He was trying to clown on my car, and didn’t think I had a chance. We raced from a 40mph roll several times. We were even in 2nd. 3rd gear I was pulling bus lengths on him. He couldn’t believe it and was very surprised. But the funniest thing is I would see him at car shows with his EVO, and I would go up to him to say what’s up, and he would be surrounded by his friends. He never ever would talk about how he lost to my GTI. He was embarrassed to bring it up 🤣🤣🤣

The stick shift ruins it. Nothing worse than getting beat by a DSG car making 50 hp less so I can feel like "Speed Racer" pulling a lever back n forth an inch smh.

@@JorgeCabrera-zh7yr lol well I make 640 whp in mr Golf R and the DSG just shifts so lighting fast its hard to compete. Shop I use just tuned one making 680 whp but I will say its terribly unreliable lol. If I go 2-3 weeks without something going wrong thats a miracle
