I’m in my early 20’s and am increasingly uncomfortable with how much *I’VE* shared on social media when I was younger. I genuinely can’t imagine how a lot of these kids will feel when they grow up.

It’s not too late to go back and scrub social media. Make as much private as you can. Change your names/handle/username so it’s not related to your real name and harder to find with a google search. Heck, save what you want and delete your accounts. Make new ones for your adult self that you can be proud of. Facebook was only just barely a thing when I was in uni so I don’t have nearly as much content on there to potentially be ashamed of but I’ve done the same thing. Take the time and do it. You’ll feel way better about it.

Luckily, I was never a major sharer but all my social media is private and I only use Instagram to share things involving my child, which is limited to my closest friends/family. I can't tell you the amount of eye rolls I get and had to stop friends and family members from sharing on their own social media when they take pictures when we're out together. I've even had comments about why I didn't share my pregnancy on Facebook... 'Because I don't feel like sharing pictures of my scans/belly with people I went to school with over a decade ago' is apparently odd 😂

Instead she had to fake it so hard....it makes you wonder if she ever consoled him at all. It was just really callous and upsetting. I worry about the kid growing up too. She's inadvertently teaching him that optics are more important than his feelings. That it doesn't ever matter how he feels, the only thing that matters is how much attention he gets from strangers. I remember coming across one of these videos about body language, and I do almost everything the video’s creator claimed proves someone is lying and/or faking their emotion. Whenever I see comments about body language, I think about the famous case of the dingo attacking the baby. That baby’s mother was considered guilty of murdering her child by the public and authorities because she didn’t have the body language or display emotion the way someone “should”. The woman was completely innocent.

People react to Stress very differently. Some show their distress, some go the opposite Route. When sth upsets me, i dont get a trembly voice and i dont lol a certain way - i tense Up and i Go very cold and analytical. Thats how i protect myself. Now If i were to Release a Video in that state, plenty of people would be quick to call me a Psychopath because i would Look to calm. I have noticed that with a whole ton of true crime youtubers who Claim that a spouse or sth is suspicious because they seem to collected.... That could literally Just be shock. Imagine you find your spouse dead and suddenly your talking to the cops, and then someone shoved a camera in your face. Meanwhile, you havent even processed whats happened yet. I think this whole scenario parallels well with veganism: Same as family vlogging, participants are incentivised to make questionable decisions that aren't strictly outlawed. With veganism, a frustrating argument is that killing animals is admissible if they're 'treated humanely,' but the temptation to cut corners is inherent to the industry itself, so it's not good enough to just 'support the good ones.' Just like family vlogging, the only way to completely eliminate abuse is to eliminate the industry.

I don't think it's fair to say 'never apologise'. As a youtuber, you're going to get pushback when you apologise because you have an audience. However, a lot of people just want youtubers to take accountability. And we don't have accept an apology for an apology to be made. It's the first step in them taking accountability. But they have to continue to reflect and work on themselves, like we all have to do in life. KZreadrs have chosen to make parts of their life public, which means that their growth and accountability will be public too.

I almost had to turn off this video because of that clip. It seriously made me sick to my stomach. I actually stopped posting pics of my kiddos on Instagram for this very reason. They can't give consent and it feels weird that their photos would be out there for the entire world. It is a weird thing for people to make money off their children and I don't agree with it, but I also don't think they're monsters either. People who aren't family vloggers can do shitty things to their kiddos too.

I'm quite sad to see more and more channels become like semi family vlogging platforms. There's one channel in particular that I have in mind - it was a travel channel, led by a nice couple who were visiting some of my dream destinations and had many interesting and useful things to say about these places. Then they had a kid. While their child is not main focus of their channel, the couple still talks about travel for the most part, but their kid appears on so many of the b-rolls and photos they publish, that it made me uncomfortable and I ended up unsubscribing. Like, I get you enjoy taking pictures and videos of your child, we all love to do that, but I came for the pretty landscapes, not a 2 minute clip of your child bathing in a hot spring. Something like that should remain in your family archive D:

Her son learns faking tears and lying for money is how it is done. How likely is it for a kid to want to become the next neurosurgeon or biochemical engineer after years of that deception? She lied and forced her son to do that too. Why she did it is irrelevant. She didn’t volunteer the truth. She was caught and had very few options.

Just wanna point out that even if the kid agreed to be in the video and genuinely meant it, there’s this thing called consent that a child simple can not give. Parents have to make the decisions for them. So it’s so stupid when parents say like oh but they like it amd agree to it! No maam they’re too young to understand any of it and therefore can not consent to it.

First of all any kid that age would say "yeah I wanna do it" even if they don't because they want to make their parent happy and are seeking parental approval! Forcing that poor child to expose their emotions on youtube is just appalling! And I think we seriously need to find a way to hold "parents" who exploit their children in this manner responsible for the mental/emotional damage they are causing. Second of all I'm digusted she is using the pain of the possibility of losing their pup for views. A couple of years ago we had a set of 3 sisters who developed parvo, we spent a week force feeding them meds Pedialyte and bone broth in attempt to save them. We lost one of them and our house was in mourning for months afterwards, her sisters along with us still miss her every day!

I use to follow her years ago. This is who she is. Yes, she does a ton of “boss babe” content, has her son is in a lot of her videos (and she seems like a good mom), but she also gets wrapped up with clickbait videos. I chose to unfollow her years ago when she was constantly putting her relationship drama out on KZread. Her thumbnails were ALWAYS clickbait type stuff, and the back and forth drama involving her relationships at that time (very personal stuff) on her videos was ridiculous. She made it very clear what was important to her at that time, and that was the views. Obviously, it’s still the same for her, and I don’t think she’ll ever change.
