2 weeks ago i started going on foot to university instead of taking a bus (30-35 minute walk). I feel a lot healthier now. Walking is amazing

Walking really helped my back pain. I have a desk job, and was working from home. I'd go from my bed, to the desk, and hardly ever move. I was moving so little, I recorded my steps.... 87. I had a day with 87 steps TOTAL. After that, I started working out more and started walking everyday. My lower back is now fine, my maintenance calories went up a lot and I feel so much better. That was in 2021, and I am still doing it. Walking is the easiest way to make a huge change.

Same, except I've been working from home my entire career. Nearly 10 years so far... Never really thought about how badly that impacted me, because I've always been very inactive, being born with a muscular dystrophy and all. Oddly, doctors have told me my whole life to move as little as possible, because moving a lot would just exasperate my symptoms or maybe even progress my disease, as it's degenerative with age. Anyway, a few months ago, not sure what clicked, but I finally started researching fitness in depth. I've averaged under 100 steps a day pretty much my entire life, but for about four months now, I've averaged nearly 15k steps a day. I also hit the gym pretty hard at least 4 times a week now. Energy, sleep, literally everything negative in my life has improved tremendously. Can't believe all my docs have been so ignorant...

@@SilkieRoo Man, at least you have changed it and see some benefits! That's awesome. I try to walk for 4 hours per week (casually walking), and pretty much manage to do 40-60 minutes per day and it's a game changer imo.
Wow, this video hits close to home for me! I lost an incredible 30 kg in just 4 months, going from 114 kg to 82 kg, and walking played a HUGE role. I didn't always hit 10,000 steps, sometimes exceeding to 15,000 or even 20,000! Walking truly transformed my life and seeing others experience similar journeys is incredibly inspiring. Keep stepping towards those goals, everyone! 💪

lol, i'm in the older section of your audience browny but you've got some great vid's bro, keep up the awesome work (yeah i was just down in Miami, got over 15k steps/day, noticed a huge difference in energy despite all the eating out and drinking.... good times man)
I've been walking 10000 steps almost every single day for the last 5 years, and the only thing that has changed, is stronger legs
This works for people that have office jobs. If your working in jobs like I have, your body is used to it and yes it helps to gain fat fast but it certainly not makes you shredded alone. You still need workouts and proper diet. Fyi I walk between 15.000 and 20.000 a day on average weekends less of course. All my jobs from the age of 10 (newspaper route) has been walking standing jobs. Never had a job that I sat down for. Conclusion yes move your ass of the couch, it helps to move around more. Oh and guys don't worry about your steps your more shredded then I am so I think you 2 are good😉💪

As someone who walks 6,000 steps a day at work alone about 14,000 all day I completely agree but just some food for thought the person in this video went from 4,000 to 10,000 which is a 2.5x increase for you to increase as much as he did you would need to get 37,000-50,000 steps

@miy-kal_ oh yeah no definitely not realistic to do that much walking and I'm pretty sure you'd be reaching more negatives then good walking 40,000+ steps a day
I really like your workout application it really have nice features. Espacially i like how you have recipes for different tasty meals.
When he said his mom walks around the living room, that reminded me of my dad. Every night he walks up and down the stairs like 40 times to get his steps in🤣

I am 64 and my body doesn't give up weight easily but in the last 10 weeks, I have lost about 10kg doing exercise with some dieting and averaging about 15000 steps a day, most days I do 16000 or so in my house. My maximum is 32000 steps in one day which if you are wondering took over 4 hours of walking fairly fast. It was hard at first but now I have adapted. Sometimes I add concerted muscle flexing in my upper body during my walking or pumping light weights which can be very effective for upping the calorie burning and fitness effects of the movement. There was a medical doctor that invented an exercise system called Heavyhands many years ago in which he added gradually increasing sizes of weights to his walking routine and eventually became exceptionally strong and fit through doing this. His VO2 max and strength per pound became exceptional. Cheers.
I used to do this in university. Didn’t have a car, needed to get to clinicals and classes. Even in internship I walked to and from the site and the internship campus requires multiple half mile walks to get to some units. Easily hit 10k each day and when I stopped and finally got a car, I actually became stir crazy because I had more energy than I could ever use up!!
When u r a responsible person, get yourself a dog… there wouldn’t be no more excuse… not when u r sick, not when u r tired, not when it’s f***ing cold or hot (maybe u have to go to any kind of water), not when it’s raining or snowing…. Nothing stops me to get me at least 15.000 steps a day, every day… thanx to my sweet heart Jers ❤❤❤
As a stone masion, just in work i walk 15-20k a day, then i go gym workout and do 10 min incline jog then go sauna 5 days a week. Yes you will see good progress at the start, but trust diet is number 1. If you drink alcohol (over 6 pints a week) and have more than 2 cheat meals a week ur progress will just be standstill. If ur tryna lose weight and maintain muscle that is. :D

Big fan of you bro❤❤
lost like 60lbs walking 10-20k steps a day for a year, felt great and transformed my body.. . now I deadlift 5 plates and row for a half hour a day and look like an athlete.. and do about 8-12k a day steps on top - all because I love it now.. 10k is doable, get at it.
I walk 18.000 steps a day for the past few years on average. I live in a medium big city for dutch standards (dordrecht) so everything i do outside my front door is walking or cycling. Till this day i never got my drivers license, because i ilke to walk or cycle and it keeeps me fit. And everything i need to reach i can do with my bicycle, walking or public transport. Also i went from dordrecht, the netherlands to basel, switzerland and back all in 17 days. Besides all that i go to the gym a few days per week and recently do also some calestenics, also inspired by Browney. Just enjoying active live and being very much outside, eating like 80/20 rule, catching sunlight daily and swim in the river/ocean and daily cold shower. Stan en arjen jullie content is altijd geweldig! Ga zo door!

I've been following the Vertical Diet for two years now and hit a 10min walk after every meal. I'm not a huge fan of cardio, but it helps spreading it out throughout my day!
Big fan of u bro ❤
I stood up and watched the video, and that got boring so I started walking around by accident, how brilliant
Even though I am just a calisthenics athelete from last 7 years and I don't do much cardio but I still walk around 17000 steps a day do to my lifestyle
well, 10K+ steps & Adjusting my diet helped me drop from 170 KG to 115 in about 9 months back in 2022, the only thing I wish I did differently was hitting the gym Sooner. but yes. it works, and it is worth it. even now it still pays its dividends by having the Cardiovascular endurance to do high weight (3plates+) high rep compound exercises
Here's a tip. get an under the desk elliptical machine and put your tracker Through your shoelaces so it will try your peddling as steps. Brownie's mom could do that instead of walking around in circles at night.
I go to work by bike. Every day, 5X a week. It's about 10 km round trip. I know, walking and cycling are not the same. But cycling is also great exercise.
I took the challenge from the guy in the blue shirt seriously and immediately started walking and watched this full video
I do this as well. I walk 10-20 mi a day plus a liquid diet and calorie deficit. Keeping track on different fitness apps. Definitely worth adding the steps in. Last was 26,138 steps
thanks🎉
Watching this video while completing my daily steps 😊
Matt D’avella is the goat! ;) Nice seeing you react to his video.
I go for an easy 30 min fasted walk as soon as a wake up (5am), leaves me with tons of energy plus breakfast after the walk, then I go to the gym fully charged, lift weights for 45 mins, walking around during sets, then a 30 min run/walk and by 8am I already hit the 10K steps, and I easily end up the day with 15k steps just by moving through the day like I normally do, If I get behind for some reason, I will go for a 30-minute walk before lunch or in the evening, it's a matter of priorities to be honest, my phone screen time went down like crazy and my energy levels are through the roof, if my feet didn't hurt after 13K steps I would push it to 20K every day, but that is just too much for my flat feet for now, let's see later on. I have to mention that I've been doing this for 2 weeks now, and my weight dropped 2.5kg so far, sparring muscle cause measurements are fine.
3:02 Arjen: "oh thats so güüd"
Did the challenge but it was so good mate
As a 16 year old I do 17 hours of sport every week, 5 tennis, 6 volleyball, 6 athletics. I have noticed my life become easier, daily activities become so simple. I've lost weight. And I am clearly the most energetic and athletic person I know. And it is the secret to my life
can u give tips to increase endurance and stamina pls
0:50 I literally just span in my spinny chair for the entire video moving my feet around
I usually walk laps around my break room at work to get steps in. People have gotten pretty used to finding me doing that haha
Browney: saying to move the whole time during the video Me: in a car trip and unable to move
My commitment to exercise is that I exercise Monday-Friday but on the weekends a take a break but mostly every other day I get about 10000 steps.
as a nurse i do 8k - 10k steps a day just from my 8 hour shift. I like to go on walks before shifts too so sometimes i can end a day at 18k steps. has helped me lose some weight for sure

I did this last year during the colder months. When it got to the summer it became harder as I had to depend on super early or super late sessions outside. But the significance in your health can be amazing. The feet can be a major issue though. I got real bad cases of athletic feet. There's things to do help it but nothing is perfect.
Im doing a body recomp, this is one of my forms of cardio. I used to be pretty fat from the bulk, and i have abs now when i flex plus i got shoulder veins again now
I used to weight 260. Am currently 135. Still have about 5-7 lbs left to lose. These last few lbs have been SO hard to get rid of. I have been getting 20-30k a day, I also eat very healthy. currently in a calorie deficit and have been for months to lose those remaining 5-7 lbs of excess belly fat. It’s just taking so long! 🤬
Bro be honest, do you do these in a hyper realistic vr simulation 😂

Oh cool
I walk 15,000-20,000 steps a day including the gym. I love walking
In my working week, at a warehouse job, i do around 30000 steps daily, few k give or take.I lift very very heavy, depending on the day also(sometimes there are easy days or less of work due to sales dropping). But i keep gaining weight drastically, i have no clue how much i am eating, nor i count. But i cannot function properly at work without it.Moment i would start some office job with less physical activity, and went to training, my weight would drop down significantly, even tho my steps then fall down to less than 15k daily.
I work in a construction site from 8 in the morning to 5 later on in the day and just from walking and not including any of the physical activity at work, I get more than 10.000 steps a day there
Bro let the dogs out 😂 2:35
On my last bulk a was struggling with cardio doing my 30 min jump rope sessions but this season it's a lot easier as i only walk for my cardio and i progress a lot better with this because i can do this everyday and not skip a session. I lost 8kg in 10 weeks.
Its very interesting to see how much or less steps some people walk. I am a mechanic and at work i already walk 8k sooo if i want walking to change my body or health i would have to fo 15k or 20k everyday. But for now i will stick with 10k steps and the summer shred from the app 😉 day 6 and the Muscheln soreness finally starts to fade 😂
As a primary school kid i averaged 10,000 steps from walking during just an hours break a day doing football, trampoline and karate. Some are considered the least inactive of activitys
Also as a mail man I walk 13/ almost 20 miles a day it’s hell 😅that’s with over time my route is all walking over time is all walking , but I know of others that walk more idk how they do it 6/7 days a week because the post office here is really down staffed
i did the challenge you said in the beginning of the video i did almost 1k etxra steps!
5am and I’m already 2057 steps
hahaha, fun fact, about 2 week ago I started to check my steps from curiosity. Daily average around 10.000 steps I have done but usually more in a day as a painter decorator, not added any extra walk. So I guess I need around 20 - 25000 steps a day if I want to loose weight. Plus I have days when I carry around a 25 - 35kg bag to work or back home with my tools...

I just finished running a marathon and the guy in the blue shirt says “I challenge you to move while watching this video” 💀
6:09. School makes me walk a lot, my average steps is 11,000 steps. My school has a shortcut, but I don't use it as much for more steps.
When we were virtual during Covid my gym teacher created a challenge who could get the most steps in a day. I was really determined so I got 32k steps that day and yeah he was surprised.
I work from home and typically get under 2k steps per day. But I do get adequate cardio by doing zone 2 bike cardio or bike HIIT cardio after work and weekends. Hopefully that negates the lack of steps
In 2021 i walked every free day for anywhere from 15k to 30k steps a day but never had any serious fat/weight loss... I kept my eating the same, but weight didn't go down much. I have a feeling that my body 'needs' to be around the 80 to 85kg to be 'happy' or something...
Challenge completed
Been walking 11k a workday for 3 years. It does help. Going to the gym and dieeting helps alot more tho. In my experince
I walk 15-20k at my job every day, with lifting etc too. I eat decently and well. I’ve not lost weight at all.
Bro I go to the gym and also play padel. But somedays I dont even hit 1k steps…its insane how working from home makes move so little. Somedays my legs hurt from sitting..so get up and do get those miles in!
It's literally watching matt de'vella all over again
The thing is, when you've been averaging 11k-13k steps a day for four to five years and your maintenance calories are down because your freaking body doesn't recognise that as an exercise anymore 😹 (I work at retail and also walk almost everywhere I go, walking alone to places takes me over an hour a day). Now looking to implement some exercise in my day-to-day to get some fat off.
Mr.browny does training at gym under 49°c for 2 hrs then a quick boxing practice for 1 hrs isn't enough 😅 so that i have to walk 2 hrs like in day to day we walk almost about 2000 steps so yeah I wanna know your pov on my cmnt 🤘🏻
During summer I get a six pack just from cycling and do my job and here and there I play soccer if I add any other exercise I get shredded
Arjen challenge completed I walked while watching the whole video
wow i am first can i have some tips to loose my gyno on chest pls
i usually walk about 13-16k steps per day because wherever i go i go by walking
I started to walk around to places coze my cycle is broken and I walked like for 2 hours and also morning walk for like 2 hours but I feel u still need to do more
For me all the days I hit 10,000 steps are just my run days for me, but discounting that I probably average around 5,000 steps a day.
I'd rather sprinting because it's short and very effective
Hey cap your challenge is done
I hit the gym 6days a week and easily walk more than 150 000 steps a week.. But I have to add I do not work an 8:00-17:00 job, But calories in and calories out are also an important factor
Netflix and anime help alot with walking on a treadmill
If the guy in blue shirt ( aka captain america) walk 10000 steps a day , he can definitely beat mr olympia 😂
ya i am in service hahahah always between 10000-15000 steps a day
For me, since I've started tracking my steps I have always aimed for 15,000 just to spite the 10,000 steps a day saying.
im walking to school and home almost everyday, and gets around 15 000 steps each day. But everytime I dont I feel so unhealth.
I can't even walk because I had surgery last week I tore my ACL and meniscus 😅
I walked 20k - 30k steps a day... After a month doing it, I can't stop and has been walking that much for a year now...
It makes a big difference. For 2 months I walked an average of 12000 steps a day and lost 8kg.
Walking and humping (walking with a weighted backpack) are great for back pain, and if it gets you moving the 10k steps thing can be great motivation. Walking after meals has certainly been shown in credible scientific literature to be good for gut health. The before and after thumbnail for this video have ZERO chance of being related to walking more steps. Without a massive diet change, you won’t go from tubby/normal to shredded. Without actual focussed work sets towards hypertrophy and specific muscles being targeted - you will never look like the “after” photo in the thumbnail.
My averge steps are like 800. But I leave my phone on the treadmil. And I do HIIT sometimes as well as running (without phone in pocket)
I average 15-20 thousand steps a day and I’ve lost 17KG in 6 months just from this and 3 days of running, game changer
