Lost 32 pounds and kept off for 2 yrs. Now im up 10. Its been creeping up...i Have to lose it again!!!..my new clothes dont fit. Im really upset w myself as i let it happen over 2 mths. I needed to hear this. Binged on chex mix for about a week, just couldnt stay away. Been following u for long time but seldom commented.
My husband is revolting over my diet change. He refuses to go on the diet and says I’m stealing his joy because he wants to cook. I don’t care if he cooks. I’m not going to eat sugar.

The changes are hard for everyone, do little by little , just cook healthier , and they will try to enjoy it with you. Nobody likes things puched or forced on them . ....One day I cooked the turnip in a hash brown style, my kid and husband had them , they didn't know why the hash browns had a twist , but they actually liked them 😅....then after they where all gone I showed them what they had just eaten ...The rest of the breakfast was regular normal things we all love ..

I'm the only one keto in my family it's doable.
I was 400lbs dropped to 260 then was stuck no matter the diet. I switched to low carb high protein I don’t say keto because I’m not in ketosis but I do follow it best I can. I’m 225 following your recipes and I did the thanksgiving sides you just posted. My kids loved it. I love your honesty and sincere advice. I do struggle with my fam because I don’t do sugar, rice, potatoes, pastas, tortillas, or bread unless keto. So I have to pick at whatever I think is best or I buy a salad to gatherings. They get upset saying I’m too strict and not happy. It’s a struggle because I end up serving myself a small serving of food so they don’t get offended but then I feel so sad and mad at myself for eating that. Any advice on how to handle unsupportive family members? It’s like they shame me for trying to be healthy.

keep doing what you're doing. I am actually doing keto and I went from 354 down to 272 a miracle after 40 years of dieting to no avail. Those same family members who are not supporting you if you were eating the regular food they'd be talking about you like the general public does with their fat phobic fat shaming. Those same family members want to be your enabler's. Don't listen to them. and by the way you're just fine regardless of your weight if you lose or don't lose. Nobody has to apologize for their existence.

I am the cook in my family. I make choices for me and anyone else who is low carb. I also make the potatoes, etc. I eat the delicious low carb choices (as does many of my fam not low carb) and LOVE it! I don't need to convert everyone but I know why I am doing this and don't feel I am missing out on anything! I made delicious keto cinnamon rolls (recipe at Victoria's Keto Kitchen KZread channel). They were SO good and my carb loving family loved them as well! That was my Thanksgiving treat. I also can make a mean keto pumpkin pie!
I’ve never regretted what I did not eat. I make foods I can enjoy, but I don’t need sugar/starch to have a happy holiday.
Love you girl! I fell WAY OFF back in June and I think I've gained back 20 lbs.... back over 200 again 😳 my kids got so sick of me being strict keto that I gave up. Last year at this time I was 170 doing a weight loss challenge. I just need to find a good balance. Thanks for sharing your story!
This video and advice came at the perfect time. I’ve been on my weight loss journey since April 2021. Last Thanksgiving I followed my plan and only had a little dessert so no weight gain. But this Thanksgiving I ate more desserts than I should have. It would have been okay if it was one day but I continued for a few days. Of course I gained weight but I am back on track with my healthy eating. Thank you for making me feel better about enjoying the holidays 😊

TYFS! You are so down to earth. Great advice. Special occasions for a day or two isn’t going to ruin months and months of mindful eating. Just like you said, get back on track after a couple of days. I did feel better getting back on track because what I normally eat now is healthy, but you can bet your bottom dollar I tried EVERYTHING everyone made because all of us are great cooks and it was all SO DELICIOUS!! Lol
Thank you! Your advice is right on point. I’m on WW and had a tablespoonful of my favorite things. Later a small slice of cake and pie. Didn’t feel guilty, enjoyed my family and lost 3.4# at Wednesday’s weigh in. If I had deprived myself I would have eaten anything that wasn’t tied down when I got home.

I SOOO agree with you! I've spent so many holidays 'worrying' about the food I was...or wasn't...going to eat and never truly enjoyed the holiday. Even though I've put on a few pounds, and know I need to take them off, I will get back on track. (now to convince my doctor of that when I see him in a few weeks!🙃)

Your right. Keto diet is fun, watching your body transform for the better, is fun, but it's even more fun to do so with a balanced thinking and attitude. You've got it girl. There are special occasions, I am willing to bend for but I do choose to stay with the food allowed on the keto diet. I just don't count the net carbs. That helps release a bit of that restrictive boundary to enjoy the memory more also. Then when I get back on track, I watch the net carbs as Nescessay. I enjoy your channel, the recipes you create and teach how to make are delicious. Thank you Myra for them. Much appreciated.

I am not sure I could stay on keto/low carb diet if I was a Type 2 diabetic. Lost 85 lbs and completely off meds believe me Type 2 keeps me on track cause I take my blood sugar. I give you guys credit for sticking to it .

Thank you for the video. I totally instant your thinking. If I go off plan and I have, I pay for it for 3 days of sheer misery. I cannot have gluten or my digestive system is turned inside out. I can have a little dairy like a Keto no sugar yogurt. Well it has 2 g . I find gathering of yummy food a little hard, unless I bring things I can eat. Thank you for your recipes. I’ve tried a few and they are yummy. Have the Merriest Christmas this year.

I was doing such a good job with my weight loss and I went home for Thanksgiving...yea gained back 10lbs in like a week. Im Hispanic so lots of beer, tortillas, menudo, and did I mention drinking? Lol..yea like all day haha. Now I think I can discipline myself to still enjoy foods but at my pace. Your videos have given this keto thing a new spin for me and I dont feel so restricted in enjoying meals with my family and feeling left out or like the odd one at the table.

I can no longer eat all those carbs like I used to because it makes me physically ill. Two years ago at Thanksgiving I cooked & Never again. ate a "normal" Thanksgiving meal. An hour later I was having horrible abdominal cramping, throwing up & diarrhea.

I made your keto faux sweet potatoes and it was a big hit. Everyone said it was better than potatoes.
I deal with the holiday weight after the New Year’s approaches… just can’t pass on the good food with my family and specially feeling left out. 😊 I do the intermittent fasting in the morning hours tho before the good dishes.

I agree 100% with you about Fasting until noon, then having a fatty protein, and at thanksgiving/Christmas just enjoying the meal, but not for your diabetic followers without compromising their well-being (you have a lot of them because you are promoted by diabetic help channels for the low carb recipes). I know you did not ask or plan for dealing with diabetics... :) maybe a clarification or a disclaimer will close that corner? Hugs!

I've been Low carb since Feb 2022. I didn't do well for Thanksgiving, We had Friendsgiving and our Traditional Family Dinner. At both dinners, I did not eat mashed potatoes and few other food items. Although I ate regular food, I am proud of myself that I took charge by not eating everything.

I fasted the entire week of Thanksgiving (Monday thru Friday) but not on purpose. I got the flu from my Grandkids and still had to do a large amount of cooking. I just packed it all up and sent it along with my Mr. I eat Carnivore but I’m still regaining my appetite slowly but surely.

One thing I ate for Thanksgiving which is one of my Fav food for the holiday is candied yams with marshmallows / brown sugar & cranberries.. the carbs 😭😭😭 lol & it was sooooooo good but it’s been so long I’ve been watching my carb intake that the yams made me so sick to my stomach.. I felt so bloated afterwards & my stomach was hurting but it was so worth it lol .oh & polish potato salad!’
Try gynema tea. Drink during your big meal of the day or at night.
Do you take digestive enzymes as well or just the probiotic/prebiotic?
That is why it is very important to be fat adapted. Because then you can eat less restrictive food and not worry about being in ketosis.

Thank you for this video. I just ordered from Seed as I have IBS-C. I suffer from constipation and I have to take a stool softener four days a week and psysillium husk almost daily. I need help. I don’t do dairy, or gluten either and limit certain veggies. Hoping this helps.

And I’m boarder line diabetic, ( the Dr, was a substitute,my regular doctor was on vacation) so she had no idea that this happens on an annual basis, but I’ve got to get back into the keto swing of things , ya I know I’ve been a bad boy ,but it’s the holidays, ⛄️Santa I was framed 😳 🤭

When did this become a “ journey “ ? Everything’s a journey nowadays. So tedious. As far as the food - I think we all forget about the after thanksgiving or after Christmas…when there’s good food leftover, there’s candy & sweets. She’s right - you gotta get rid of it / give it away. Good luck leaving all the leftovers with mom
I ate so much on Thanksgiving that I made myself throw up imagine how much I ate and everything was keto nothing was regular food nothing everything the turkey everything was keto and I don't know what the hell happened I ended up feeling like crap and throwing up
