Provided there are no dds around, yes. Yes it does. I've had a couple games were my cruiers got shot to pieces trying to kill the dds and when they finally succeeded it was a good feeling rolling out ahead of them in my battleship, drawing fire from enemy battleships, going "Okay, little friends, you did your job now get behind me and I'll do mine."

No better feeling than when you clean up a whole flank with your team because they can think and breathe at the same time. Can we get a video in the constellation please?

I think its worth noting that every battleship is capable of tanking. Even ships that are considered soft like Japanese and British. But you have to understand your armour scheme and the ships you're up against. Effective use of your repair kits and damage control are just as important as knowing how to take shots on the belt.

Some battleships such as Vladivostok, Bismarck are great for tanking in my opinion, but I prefer to stay away from cap since most destroyer player's I've seen is effective as the Italian navy during battle of Cape Matapan, I rather not get close to cap unless if the battleship has sonar, which helps mitigate the torpedo issue. (Side note, I am very unamused by the constant fire I get because either the destroyer or cruiser players act like the Kamchatka and not spotting the target, or that running seems to be the best choice for most of them.)

When he says that is a very heavy cruiser mashup I just get more excited. Meanwhile if it is a 3 destroyer per-team game, I'll be the scared for my life at every second that I don't spot someone and I'm spotted

I usually dont push in right off the bat due to lack of faith in my spawn mates. I tend to slow push or drag-tank in. Really wish headsets & mics were more in use

If ships actually supported one another like a normal team should games would be much more satisfying to play

Love it. Absolutely love it Ive been saying this since the 1st year of the game and you may (or may not) be surprised at how many times i got laughed at or talked down to for suggesting Battleships were meant to play a tanking role in this game. Its absolutely true though and its a big part of why i cant stand to play snipers that sit in the back failing to be effective If anyone wants an easy 1st step towards improving their BB play, here it is...throw Gyrating Drillbits in the trash. Your speed and mobility will go a lot further towards choosing your engagements and keeping you in the fight longer to do more damage over the course of the entire game than Gyrating Drillbits will by giving you a little damage boost while cementing you in place to die in 5 minutes

To be honest doesn't matter the countries BB. All of them should be attempting that. I know they are all not created equal when it comes to tanking but if the support is there tanking in any BB works. When I get support it makes playing the BB very exciting. However support doesn't always happen knowing when and not to push is also key.

@sheyrd7778 exactly. And it gets so infuriating when you spawn in a BB with that exact mindset and the DD who spawns with you goes "Nope, I wanted to spawn over there"

I remember that I have used New Orlean to tank Florida, Florida exploded and me only losing 1,290 Hp😅. I don’t know why, but my New Orlean tanking is insane.

The New Orleans buff is crazy, it has enough bow armour to tank 14 inch guns now

just highlights how the game scoring needs to change based on what class you pick, otherwise people will be too focused on the XP or whatever shite task they need to complete for the campaign... looks to the "set 30 fires" mission and gets out a he fire spam machine.... screw the team i got ships to earn, and crates to open! until that changes we will have shite teammates to deal with.

Guys like PG said be aware on how many DDs the enemy team has and which they are otherwise you will end up like a Yamato i saw yesterday having around 30 torpedoes maybe more from 3 smimikazes 😂

A good strategy for attracting enemy fire 👍, but it does not work in all cases!? For reasons, including that there was only one destroyer in the game and it was not at that point! And that your ship, with all these secondary guns, is able to defend and attack well, and this is difficult to do in other ships 😏 Then you found good support, which does not always happen. Anyway, thanks for the info 👍 well done.
