This is what Americans think about Germany

On Christmas Eve Eve I went to the streets of my hometown with my friend Kevin and asked people what they thought about Germany. Here is what they said.

A correction. The Autobahn is not the invention of Hitler or the Nazis. The Autobahn existed around 12 years before the Nazis came to power, it was only expanded during the regime. And of course there are rules there too. Very strict rules

@@ConnorWidmaier "Back in the days" I made two bigger tripps throughout the US. Once by Greyhound for like four weeks. I slept in cheap hostels and let's say some strange looking low-budget hotels downtown 😁 And two years later, much more comfortable, by plane with a Delta Air stand by pass for 30 days and with rental cars at every destination I came in. That time I slept in clean and well maintained motels and hotels. So I got in contact with people of different social background and had at least a first impression of like 30 of the federal states.

What comes to my mind right away is of course war. But I know a lot of good things about Germany, it's a country where education is free and it's cool. But to be honest, yes, these are wars. Since I am from Russia, and we were part of the USSR, it is not good to know about it. We are proud that the victory of the USSR and of course, like all people, we want peace.

Germany needs to do something about their far right hooligans. What neighbouring countries say about Germany is increasingly negative, and the German hooligans that come destroy property each time there is a soccer match, is a big reason.

  • @malte4793

I don't think so. I think a lot of our neighbours do like us in general. I think they are most likely feeling disrespected by Germans and German politics or generally don't like us if they don't like us. I mean it's not a secret that we do not have the best image in Europe and a lot of people are still not liking us for world war 2 especially in the Netherlands or Poland.
