I remember when I was at the Butcher (Metzger) he noticed that I was from Germany and thought that I wanted it faster although I said nothing. Than he meant that it needs a bit of time and after a said that everything is fine and take your time and stuff like that he was kinda surprised and very friendly. By the way. I love Zürich. Such a nice and the people can be very nice, also to German people ;)

Asking such a question is rarely going to result in honest answers because - A. they are being asked by a German what they think of his country, and B. they're being filmed doing so. Most people when put in that position will not want to cause offence so they give the most diplomatic answers they can. They're hardly going to say anything really negative in that position because of tact or like that boat owner- their livelihood depends on the tourist money they get from Germans. Only in private will many people reveal their true feelings about another country and its people. This I've learned from experience.

If you want an answer they don't really like the border workers but we have some rivalry too with cheese, watches, chocolate and mountains especially if you ask in the border territories. But sometimes french speaking swiss don't like french people far from the borders because they're not living in the same way, swiss are humble and french big mouth so it's complicated.... (generalities) Its often like that, I think. Borders neighbors are always getting along while others are kind of unappreciated.

Berliner Schnauze, baierisches Poltern oder rheinische Übermut tut sich dann halt schwer.

That's what I say all the time! There are also several cultural similarities between the Swiss and the Scottish, for example that they don't like to be ruled by foreign people and are fierce fighters when it comes to their freedom ... Stubborn mountain people who love their freedom and do strange sports ;) And the harsh "ch"-sound is quite unique to both languages, too. Very funny to compare both.

One of the reasons why is Swiss German (but not Swiss Standard German) is dialect-based (it is part of the Allemanic group of dialects in German). And even within Switzerland, different cantons will have different dialects due to geographical isolation; the Basel dialect is entirely different from the Zürich dialect or the Wallis dialect.

Some germans still think that everything is so much easier in switzerland, and that we have such an easy life. But it's not that this comes from nothing. Swiss people are hard working people. They work to have that kind of lifestyle. This way of living doesn't come from nothing. The best example is, that the swiss didn't want less working our nor more holidays. Because they want to work to keep that lifestyle. And it's annoying to hear that everything is that easy, and they just have a nice life without doing anything, because that's not the case at all.
