Beal had a No Trade Clause, meaning he can decide which team he would get traded to, which completely killed any viable trade options for the Wizards. The Wizards had to continue being mediocre or biting it now and try to rebuild earlier, which is the much smarter choice. Even then the pick swaps with the suns are not awful, specifically the later ones when the Suns are no longer good. The Porzingis trade was also not too awful, he was on an expiring contract so he could have just left for nothing in return. The trade brought them Tyus Jones, who is a decent pg and could be a better starting pg. Finally, this new front office is a completely different one from the past years. A majority of the new FO used to be on the Thunder and were great at scouting players in drafts and developing them. Their definitely fixing the detrimental issues the previous FO began. All in all, the moves they made were probably the best given the circumstances and they are now focused on their direction moving forward

Poole is sort of the scapegoat for this warriors season. Not that he doesn't deserve it, he played like shit and caused tons of drama. Couldn't trust him to even inbound the ball cause he fucked that up and lost games at a time when every game mattered near the end. Hope he does well with the Wizards but my guy needs an ego check. He wasn't the sole reason the Warriors had problems but he definitely was a big part of it

Exactly! I hate when casuals are all like “but he averaged over 20” “dumb to trade him for cp3”. But for someone who watched nearly every game last season, I lost count how many late games turnovers Poole would have with his wreckless style of play. And if people are wondering why we would have so many close games poole almost always after a bad turnover or shot he would immediately foul and change the momentum. All those things add up. I mean if Kerr has to call you out on TV that tells me that it was even worse behind the scenes… the kid has talent mostly speed. But his ego and IQ needs serious work.

All I can remember watching Warriors games near the end is either “Poole from way down town… off” or “Poole taking the ball up the court, stolen by…” then including chemistry issues like disrespecting Draymond and then ignoring Curry… yeah he had to go, at least he’s likely to turn into a scoring machine and average a smooth 25 ppg on the Wizards.

Tbh I hope this year/experience humbles him, he has a victim narrative that isn’t truly accurate, yes he got punched but he was causing a lot of unnecessary in team fighting confirmed by multiple veterans. He thinks he’s bigger then is- he’s NOT Steph Curry and he played in the playoffs this last season like he was while in reality played wreck less and selfish. He doesn’t realize how much of a gigantic risk this team took drafting him and developing him and giving him the playing time they did. Jordan Poole is gonna be like a guard version of Harrison Barnes and get crushed in DC, it’s not the Warriors system and with everything they lack over there his lack of defense is gonna show even more. I think he’s in for a middle of the pack performance next season for himself with inflated numbers and a trip to the lottery for the Wizards. Yeah he really did “get the bag” and destroyed his credibility in the locker room with everyone who mattered cause I guarantee Steph had to give some kind of ok on this.

You got this one wrong. The new leadership has direction. They are purposely tanking. Kuzma was our best player last year and better to re-sign him than let him walk for nothing. His contract can easily be moved. Beal might be a top 20 player when healthy but he missed half the games the past two seasons. Look it up. Availability, leadership and late game turnovers are issues with Beal. Also, he's 30 years old. Poole will blossom. Dude is 23 years old and you are writing him off despite stating that he was an integral part of the Warriors championship. Given the contracts signed this offseason, Poole's contract is looking better by the day. Sounds like you are just player hating. Let's see!

Poole cannot play without steph on the court, the only reason he did well in 2022 is because of wide open looks from the warriors system and steph pulling defenders away from him. When he's a first option on scoring you can see he's turnover prone and has super weak mental. The video ALSO addresses the wizards purposefully tanking, I'm betting you didn't even bother watching before commenting this lmao

@@ItsMeStrider lol my point is less about Poole and more about the Wizards now having direction and making the right moves in trading Beal (while a few seasons late) and re-signing Kuzma instead of letting him walk for nada. With that said, seems presumptuous to say a 23 year old can't play well without Curry. I'll let Poole's game (whether on the Wiz or another team) do the talking in the years to come. Peace!

The Washington Wizards weren't going anywhere with Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis. They needed to rebuild. They had to do the Suns trade, because Beal had a no-trade clause, and Brad specifically promised to veto any trade EXCEPT Phoenix. Porzingis was going to "opt out" of his contract if the Wizards didn't trade him to Boston. That means Washington would lose him for nothing. So in a sense, the stars on the Wizards team held the front office hostage. The best offer for Beal came from Miami, but Brad didn't want to go there. Ironically, the worst offer for Damian Lillard is coming from Miami but Dame WANTS to go there. 🤯

You're right Washington is really a WASH up team. Sad to say, they are washed up then, they are wash up now and they'll be wash up in a few years. The only thing that I like is the Wall-Beal team up, they would have been like the next Splash bros. of DC but then Wall gets injured time and time again and just when Beal is about to get serious, he gets traded to the Suns. I mean, I get it when you sacrifice your former first draft pick to get someone healthier but to trade one of your best players with someone who's not that good, this team won't go any further. Aside from Beal, they traded one of their best big men Porzingis to the Celtics and what do they get, some washed up players who'll soon be retiring. Yep, this is the bomb. I feel sorry for Jordan Poole going there. He's going to get stuck for the whole season and sooner or later, he wants a trade.

If they're going to tank they should do it next season when they have their draft pick and because the 2025 Draft class is much better then 2024.

I think he will have a a nice year and will be a great face for a franchise! GO JP!

This is going to be fuel for the Poole party bonfire. They are a snake bitten franchise that even MJ couldn't resuscitate back to life. What it will take is Poole getting that Rip Hamilton type of fire and going to Detroit and them taking home a title.
