Technically MJ melendez has been permenently moved to outfield
As a philles fan, i was not shocked when i heard kyle schwarber and nick castellanos were the worst outfielders

Going by errors and Rdfrs it’s Noah Syndergaard. He’s tied this year with Sandy Alcantara at -5 runs saved but has fewer innings. That and he led baseball in negative runs saved last year. There’s an argument to be made for relievers but it’s hard to judge on a smaller sample size

@@AcesShadows lol that’s really not a bad answer! Soto has -2 runs saved so far and projects to have -14 per year (I think that is assuming him to be a starter though so he won’t get those type of innings to achieve that

@@thickyjuiceIt's also harder to judge relievers' defensive abilities with the metrics we have, because those metrics are based on the assumption that players see an average mix of low-leverage and high-leverage situations. Relievers see more high-leverage situations than other players per innings played - that's often why they're called in, after all; to defuse a high-leverage situation - which means their defensive errors are more likely to result in runs.
I’d love a video where you explain the best defensive players at their respective positions
Castellanos has been a lot better this season (thank god). He “broke out” defensively during the playoffs and has been reliable since imo

I’m a tigers fan and after he got layer there about a season and a half I didn’t think he was that bad. Not good but with the bat he was more than qualified to play the outfield. May have gotten worse the last feee years though

Gorman has been stepping it up this year. It also helps that his 3B arm helps him make up for some potential bobbles on grounders
Love the video can't wait for the next one bro
I would love to see if Nolan gormans numbers are different this year he’s made some stellar plays at 2b
Worst defensive DH🧐🧐🧐
Last season against the padres Garcia tried to turn a double play but he pulled his foot off of second early and threw a two-hopper to first and didn’t get either out
Hilarious schwarber was in this after he sold the the Braves game
I understand gorman was pretty bad defensively but he has improved A LOT this year
Bryan Reynolds was 2nd in Golden glove voting for center field 2 years ago.
3:06 Joey could have just tagged him
Few things in life are more comical than the duck-billed platypus, and watching Nick Castellanos and Kyle Schwarber pretend to be outfielders. In fact, they both possess the baseball fielding acumen of said duck-billed platypus

Schwarber is what it looks like when you put a catcher in LF, which is exactly what happened.
Castellanos is clutch though. 😀
It's funny how castellanos made several important high difficulty catches in the postseason last year, it makes me think he can do things like that, but just doesn't care enough
So basically, always try to hit fly balls against Philly.
Can’t understand the Votto hate. The guy has had minor league players throwing it to him all career and has to reach for 90% of the stuff his way

It felt like I was looking at video from plays at the old timers game I couldn’t help but notice, all these guys got one thing in common, no one is wearing glasses
Also, Kyle Schwarber reminds me of Jeremy Giambi in the field.
Votto is a great defender. I must be missing something
Patrick wisdom is struggling on both sides this year
Heyyy Gleybar Torres is in here. I guess he stepped up his game.
Soto may give Castellanos a run for his money in right field though.
gormans gettin better
Wisdom’s fielding is mid, he can field well sometimes but his hitting is absolutely terrible! He can hit one 5280 ft but only when it’s his pitch. Strikes out too much, pops up too much.
I had no clue MJ was a catcher
But remember … worst among the only 60-200 players in world at their position good enough to play in MLB.
Who’s the worst fielder in this video?
Idk why but I wanted to know the worst defensive pitcher as well.
votto has been a lazy defender for a long time
Garcia has been playing 2B permanently this season. CJ Abrams hasn’t been much better fielding wise tho…
Luis Garcia hasn’t ben a shortstop for like 2 years
Idk when people are gonna realize this but the Royals' catchers have such bad defensive stats because their pitchers are historically bad, both at controlling their pitches and at holding runners. (Also MJ is a full-time right fielder now.)
