🇦🇫 This is Taliban Country | Fault Lines

A Taliban stronghold in the Charkh District, just an hour outside Kabul, has become a microcosm of Taliban rule in Afghanistan.
Though only an hour from Kabul, armed Taliban patrol the streets openly and have built a parallel administration in Charkh, including Islamic law courts and girls schools.
So what is it like to live under Taliban rule?
Nagieb Khaja reports from the Taliban stronghold of Charkh, Logar Province. Khaja bears witness to the parallel administration the Taliban have built in Charkh, and hears testimony from the population - including from the families of civilian casualties of Afghan National Army bombings.
Khaja is the first Western journalist to film a Taliban Islamic law court where he witnesses a case in which the defendant is a Taliban member. The outcome is surprising.
Khaja also visits local boys and girls schools run in concert with the Taliban.
This is Taliban Country shows a defiant Taliban determined to continue attacking the Afghan National Army bases and keep control of the region.

Haris Al Ansari what about TTP. I love TTP Taliban. Army public school Peshawar attack was my favourite. I will pray to Allah next time they kill every student in school. When Sharia law is inducted in Pakistan we will free gilgit baltistan and Azad Kashmir from Pakistan and implement UN regulations in Pakistan occupied Kashmir as it is written in UN resolution of self determination. Inshallah we will bring Sharia law to Pakistan.

A beautiful country with a huge majority of warm, nice, peace loving people. It could be flooding with tourists that bring their money from their country's and spend it in Afghanistan, to eat the local food, to hike the beautiful mountains, get to know each other and cultures, and so much more…. I hope i can travel in Afghanistan with my backpack one day, without worrying about safety. Just to experience its beauty, and to make friends. And then come back home in Europe and tell my friends and family what wonderful time i had, and what wonderful friends i have made. You may say i'm a dreamer, but i'm not the only one. ;) Good luck Afghanistan, love your country.

I really dont find this a big mystery about why people so easily side with Taliban. When someone looses his family member like this.. its so easy to instigate them. They WILL pick up a weapon. "USA Mujahedeen" were war lords and war criminals, who went crazy after Russia was defeated, they started killing each others over land and territory, causing a huge civil war. That's when Taliban was born and took over the country from these USA Terrorists.

I'm not American nor from the Middle-East but i know better then what they try to make us believe. The media is dehumanizing & giving a false picture of Muslims. You have good, bad & ugly everywhere. If we really look at the numbers of killing innocent people there is no one who can tip on the American government. More then 65 million people are killed in unfair wars by the USA. More then the Taliban, IS or any other group or country. I condemn all of them tho; their doing all the same; killing innocent people for their so called hidden political agenda.

From Hong Kong. I feel sorry for all those ordinary Afghanistan who only wants to live in peace, have a normal live, and don't have to worry being attacked by air strike of shelling. Who is in charge of their country is not their concern. Anyway, they know they have no right/power to choose or say a word. When communism North Vietnam defected the South, everybody is worrying the communist party will torture or enslave the south Vietnam people. But Vietnam people are living quite happy now. So, why don't we just give Afghanistan a chance to solve their problem by themselves. Just leave them alone, withdraw all foreign troops from Afghanistan. Taliban may be bad at the time being, but still they will have to adjust its policy to face the reality of this world, like what the communist parties of USSR, China and Vietnam have done.

Ali mustachio It's a theory, that has been tested and proven over and over again. There is as much evidence for it, as there is for gravity. Which 'God'? Thor? Zeus? There are more than 4000 religions. If you had of been born into another culture you wouldn't even believe in your current 'God'. You ought to do some research, into your own culture. I'm guessing it's either Islam or Christianity. Both books of hatred, extreme phobias, sexism, and intolerance.

In fact after a lot of surveys and research many countries ( which includes U.S. , a few european countries and also India) people came to this conclusion. There r even proofs of ur country's guv sponsoring Taliban and other such terrorist groups.

It is so sad, my sister and her friend visited Afghanistan in the late 60s and early 70s. They like many young Europeans made the overland journey through Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan to India. My sister is an artist and painted the portraits of many tribesmen and tea pots for some reason lol. She always said the people were very friendly and hospitality boarded on the embarrassing. It would be awesome if this overland route was available again, but thanks to religious fundamentalism it looks like it will stay shut for many years to come.

It's really saddening to see Afghans still in war after 35 years of war. It's time for peace taking all on board that includes Talibans, either you like it or not, they are part of the society. All Afghan fictions should be included in the peace process. This is the only way forward, otherwise they would be fighting for next 35 years.
