I have hauled many tanks in the past , I would have them load them backward so the barrel pointed backward they wondered why till I hung my sign on the barrel ( tailgaters will be shot ) that always got a laugh from the troops . Not so much from the D.O.T.

@Logan Johnson We always traversed the turrets 180° on our M1's for transport. Since the turret isn't in the middle, most the barrel is over the back and only sticks out a couple feet. I would never haul one on this trailer though lol. Usually it's an Oshkosh M1070 tractor with an M1000 trailer. Things have 40 tires if I'm remembering right. Been a while. During the invasion we would be in our tanks while loaded up, they pulled us off-road, complete darkness, not a single light or glow stick even lol, from Kuwait where we staged all the way to Iraq where we started to pick up heat signatures a few miles away. Then we unloaded, got into formation and my life changed forever 😆🤘

With a quick research, I found out that the “tank” actually comes from my country, precisely the Czechoslovakia (now two separate countries). And Dave’a guess about the age was right, OT-90 is just a modernised version of the BMP-1 which was made in the 70’s and 80’s.

The fact that you imported multiple carriers - that is huge! Everheard of TBM Avenger - well - in 78 -79 - one went into a river near me. I was part of the spray plane crew - that fed the plane. The TBM pilot - was an old guy. His comment was - " he set it down on the rocks in the river - and waited for the chopper - to pick him up. The plane - was on top of the rocks - when it came to rest. Like carriers - they are on top! Cheers!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ that was a 5 star load. You guys been doing really well lately. I would like to think it's because the old man got on your ass about being unsafe & tearing shit up? 🤣🤣🤣 To bad about the hydraulic hoses. When you get the hang of it the bug beautiful grapple be just like your hand. Everything is 1 fluid motion. It's the shock load blows those hoses & don't be afraid to double the psi we you replace them. Last much, much longer. You skated on getting that hose at O'Reilly. 🤣 What happened underneath was unfortunate. You can't always see that coming. Shit flips up, stuff goes flying, you know. Good job! 😎🇺🇸

I wouldn't mind hauling that a bit. I am considering moving to flat bed. I've hauled dry van and reefer for the past 13 years. May be time to move on

Just know that alot of companies require you to tarp loads on open deck trailers. I mean you can be an owner operator.. but its alot of bills and responsibilities to pay... when times are slow youre stuck holding the bag.. i saw on youtube the other day a small compnay with dry vans and the guy was paying his drivers about 100k per year... like damn thats pretty good. ive got alot of buddies that drive rgn like this (5 axle) and step decks and some flatbeds.. most are making about $0.60/mi ends up being maybe $60-70,000 per year. Not bad but for real its a difficult job being an OTR driver, so I look to companies where I can make $100k. They are out there and so why work for a company only making $50k or $70k per year when drivers are so so so difficult to find, that you can find a $100k per year job. and thats with a company owned truck so no truck payment and responsibilities.. you can walk away whenever you want.
