I think Moyes thought he'd set up the same way as when you beat us. The problem is once you go a goal down you don't have the players to come out and play and be expansive to change the game. Moyes seems like Southgate. The type of manager who doesn't realise that possession of the ball is as good as having a team of defensive players who can win the ball. Keeping possession is part of your defense as it is winning challenges. Moyes had the wrong balance and gave himself no out all because of team selection

Moyes obviously should take some blame but the players didn't seem to want to do anything, You could see him getting more and more frustrated when players weren't moving into space to receive a pass. Johnson playing on the wing was a good choice in theory to help Emerson deal with Saka but he didn't offer anything going forward and barely did anything defensively. Not a West Ham fan but I think Moyes should have gone after last season, go out on a high instead of tarnishing the accomplishment of the conference league

i can massively understand the anger re moyes but to be fair on him he did something i thought i'd never see again in my lifetime and that was west ham winning a major honour, if moyes is to go who could replace him? another foreign mercenary like that useless pellegrini (the job was a consolation prize for him) the dilemma facing hammers is typical of the modern game, i think moyes has taken hammers as far as they can realistically go in today's game, this result was so typical of west ham, it reminds me of the drubbing received at Arsenal way back in march 76, 6-1 during the magnificent cup winners cup run, best wishes to all true Hammers fans

Big Dave has a point as well why is moyes bringing on defensive players when you are behind in the game and need goals I guess he was thinking defensive as to not let too many goals in and keep the score down but also like he said he could have brought on one of the youngsters and test him against the arsenal defence to give him his debut and match experience - West Ham just seemed poor in every area only had five shots the whole game and zero goals while arsenal the away team had 25 plus and scored six is a joke

If you pick the same 11 players every game, regardless of how they are playing, that's on the manager. If you play the same formation every game, regardless of whether it's working and don't make any ingame changes, that's on the manager. If you use the same tactics in every game regardless of the standard of opposition and regardless of if it's working or not, that's on the manager. The players should be ashamed of that performance but its because of Moyes.
