This is my Story...for those who weep

This is a story about my grief journey, and how God used art to help heal me. It also offers a resource to those who are grieving a loss. All proceeds go to fund free art classes for those who have lost a loved one traumatically.

Oh, yes, art is so healing. A gift from God. Thank you for being brave enough to share your pain. Bless you for not being afraid to praise & glorify our God for His tender mercies...I have lived with a son who suffers depression but is not a believer (yet!). It's not too PC to be a believer in our culture. New subscriber...

Jolene, thank you for your encouraging words. Hard to believe it's been almost 10 years since Jay left us. My heart is with you in hearing of your nephew's passing. Suicide grief is so complex indeed. May you experience God's peace.

Thank you so much for having the courage to share your story! Seeing your art, I felt an instant connection to you, and after hearing your story, I understand why. I have been a Christian counselor, and I have had the privilege of walking through grief with others, as well as having had the personal experience of dealing with the suicides of people for whom I cared deeply. I appreciate your message of hope arising from the guidance and reassurance in the middle of pain from a God who experienced loss, pain & sorrow on our behalf, and who grieves with us, & offers help with the healing. Having a creative outlet for all the pain and tangled feelings is such a help in the process! Thank you for reaching out to others who are hurting!

Difficult. A young friend of mine also made this choice. Their love has to live through us and what we bring to the world. Thank you. If one person sees this and is healed, then it was a gift you gave them.

Unfortunately, the pain will be a part of you forever. It does ease with time and then it will turn to regret. I miss them and wish to share things in my life with them. That is the hardest part. But, I know that they are with me, and cheering me on. Life is hard, and sometimes I get very angry over the selfishness of it all. Their pain is over, but ours will last a lifetime. My friend Regina was my cheerleader for art. She loved everything that I did. Even when my family was telling me to grow up and get a real job-she encouraged me to not give up. Mark was the same way. He believed in me, even when I didn't believe in myself. I miss them. Thank you for sharing your art, and your story.

Every life, no matter how long or short, is full. It starts and ends exactly as it should, to serve humanity exactly as it should. There are no mistakes. For every yin, there is a yang. Your story is a testament to that! Thank you for opening up and sharing it with us!!! xo

Penny, this video is great! I hope others get some help from watching this. Help is out there for grievers, they just need to ask. I wouldn't have made it without the Tramatic Loss Group and realizing there are others who are feeling our pain. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Thankyou for your courage to share. It feels internal until others share in it. :D I have a different loss of relationships, and I find that painting and creating has always been a source of healing, comfort, and it really does bring us closer to understanding. It brings us closer to Listening for Him...doesnt it?
