I LOVE this piece!!!! I love illuminated pages and then seeing how you used it here was genious! BTW! Can i borrow your hubby to do that with my jars as my hubby is too busy working on the bathroom right now. Lol. Ohhh and that kitty yawning - priceless lol. XTibbyX

Such a beautiful and inspirational piece! I really love it and watching the process. I was just given a generous gift of Amazon gift cards from the parents where I teach. I am finally able to pursue the exploration of encaustic paints.I'm so excited! I have a question. Have you used an iron in your work? I'm intrigued by its use by some artists I've seen. I'm torn by the reviews. Every iron has raves or deep regrets about its purchase. Do you have any opinions on the matter? Thanks again for a lovely video.

Francie, thank you so much for your comments and questions. I really appreciate your words of affirmation. Aren't teacher giftcards the best? I used to teach elementary school. So...regarding the iron. I bought one because, like you, I saw tutorials of people using it. I just got so consumed with projects like you saw on this video that I haven't even messed with it yet haha. If I had to do it again, I probably wouldn't have bought one so soon. Maybe down the road I will experiment with it more. The same goes for my heated stylus. :/

Can you use another oil for wiping clean? As i cant get liquid coconut oil where i am? Thanks in advance. XTibbyX

You can use linseed oil and one artist told me that regular vegetable oil works too!

Hi Do you apply the Yes! paste over the encaustic medium?

As long as the wax is cool, you can. I usually put the Yes paste on the back of the paper I am adding, or onto the board itself. But I have used it on wax that is cool and it works to adhere. Thank you for taking the time to ask.
