Although he might not be a goalscoring presence we need to take the burden off Højlund, having a ST completely different to Højlund's profile is better for the squad. It was wise to bring in Martial's replacement (who is a link-up ST) rather than getting a similar profile to Højlund. It offers great tactical flexibility and at times, both the STs could play in the same XI. Look at all the good teams in PL, Haaland-Alvarez, Nunez-Jota, Jackson-Nkunku. I think it's the right move. Bruno played the deep lying forward role in the last 3 games of the seasons, that's exactly the role where Zirkzee would thrive. Also, it's good to have different solutions against diff teams rather than labelling Højlund as the starting ST while the new ST as backup. He also fits the profile of players we correctly lack. Tall (6ft4), technical, positionally flexible and relatively experienced in a top 5 league (and Dutch too😅)

I think he would be an amazing signing, he kind of reminds me of berbatov. He makes it look so simple. But I heard there is a 15 million agent fee on top of the 40 million.

You need a player who will get you around 20 goals a season if you want to qualify for champions league, as a team you need to score around 70 goals minus the occasional exception(us last year and Chelsea under Tuchel). So i don't really think signing a player with 11 goals in 34 games in Serie A really moves the needle at all for a team that has scored 60 or more in a season since Ole. Like this would be an interesting signing for Fullham or Bournemouth, his out put and possession stats are very similar to Zeki Amdouni, who didn't cut it last year for Burnley. 40 million euro's plus a reported 12 million agent fee isn't cheap either for a player in the 35th percentile for non penalty goals per 90 and 54th percentile for assists per 90.

he thrives playing around with direct wingers.. but unfortunately will be a conflict playing with Amad. Amad is winger who loves to hold the ball and dribble and thus it can interfere with zirkzee's timing of movement into space.

It's not a stupid reason, its literally what false 9's and deep forwards are supposed to do. To facilitate other teammates, disrupt and create space in behind.🤭🤭🤭

I am thinking so in an old traditional 4-4-2 formation or 3-5-2 with 2 wing backs like Shaw and dalot and 1 winger of either rashford or Garna...then a number 6 like Maino and a number 8 like Bruno. Dalot will be required to get into the midfield to add number from time to time and the defenders must be high line merchants while Maino will be strictly required to remain and stay put in the midfield. Only Bruno will be required to move forward and play with Zirkzee and Hojlund.

So he is just another Anthony martial

too expensive doesnt score enough, 33 goal Pavlidis is better and also very good technically and at dribbling

40 million for a backup striker isn’t expensive. Also that’s another Eredivisie player who is a gamble. There are some good players from that league & then there are players that don’t translate well to the PL like Antony.
