Taught my daughter this! Curls need individual love and attention, diligence and conditioning. I talk to them and love on them as I massage oil in with conditioner. Curly hair, and coils are more work than people think! Loved the way you cared for each strand gently!🤎

Omg a stylist that detangles a client’s hair without talking shit, being condescending or wanting to charge an extra $40. Holy fuck… I went to a salon ONE time back in 2020 and on my life she made me feel so bad I was gonna go next door to the barber shop and chop all my shit off…I had hair past my shoulders too. Didn’t mean to trauma dump but I struggle trying to figure out how to take care of my hair myself instead of worrying about other people and who I may inconvenience cause my hair isn’t all the way detangled 🙄

Experiment with products that work for your hair. Type 4 hair is so unique. Not to mention different porosity needs different proteins/moisturizers.

The only thing I don't like about curl defining with mousse or setting lotion, is how stiff it ends up. Like, it moves, but not a lot. I prefer water, leave in, and curl activator gel for myself and clients . It moves, flows, shines, and moisturizes. Yall should try it

Some of them can't shampoo hair because they aren't licensed. Shampoo and conditioner are considered chemicals, you need a license to provide chemical services. Most licensed stylist will not style your hair unless they shampoo and conditioner it.

You can always tell when a stylist loves curly hair. That's why I subscribed and also cause they shampoo 😂

What people don’t understand is that you get better definition when you take sections of hair and define them the size of your curl pattern. My nape is softer and looser so I can style from my ear and below in 2 sections if I wanted. From my ear to crown I could do up to 5 sections because my curls are tighter so I take a smaller section to define

What products do you use?

I gave it a 👍🏾 as soon as she said, ‘we wash hair around here.’ Something so basic and essential, yet, uncommon.

Honestly when I go to a salon I style is least of my worries. As not to brag but I can style. I just want someone to wash and detangling my hair, maybe even a little scalp massage. 😂 So props to you for doing all of the above.

❤🔥 when someone at the salón takes the time to really care for your hair stand by stand. Amazing job

I have curls a little tighter than the lady in the video. The best way by far to maintain my hair all week is with a silk lined buff then steam in the morning (either via the shower or hair steamer) to refresh. This method works way better than any other method I’ve tried.

With beautiful hair like that, I would wear it long ❤

Girl same. Just loc’d up. Where was this when I needed it 😩. The hardest I use to try and do them 3a, 3c wash n goes on my 4C HAIR?!?!?!?!! I was rly forcing that stuff 😭! My hair use to be so dry so I stopped, but damn I didn’t know I could still define it tho 😭.
