This was top tier arc opening. The anime went HARD for the Lulusia moment, and I LOVE IT.

I love Wano don’t get me wrong but it’s so refreshing being finally out of that arc in both anime and manga, i'm glad they’re changing the art style and make it bright and fun because we've been in Wano for so long i feel like changing stuff will be more fun and interesting. It fits this arc so much! Egghead is gonna be amazing to watch.

honestly you can tell now that Gear 5 is out they want to be a little more free with the animation so they can do more looney tunes and crazy stuff. You can tell with how they animated Usopp's reaction to Chopper getting lifted by the wind, that is not how they would have animated that before.

This is one heck of an opening. Absolutely amazing beyond measure. I’m actually surprised they fit so many spoilers in here, everything except for the final battle of the arc is here, and even that gets hinted at with Kizaru’s appearance here.

bro the animators and the director Megumi Ishitani are actually geniuses, firstly coming up with such a vibrant and amazing art style is just insane, and the way the changed the art style to this more charatoonish and extremely vibrant and colorful style is absolutely genius, they are almost giving the effect that the goofy cartoonish powers of nika are rubbing off on the rest of the crew and people and places luffy is around, it perfectly encapsulates the whole vibe that gear 5 has. ISTG I was nearly crying because of how insane the art style is. Even the way the music became eerie and they were perfectly able to change the atmosphere for lulusia being wiped out was beautiful. Im actually so hyped for what they are going to do for the rest of egghead arc 👍

Its honestly unreal how good of a helmsman Jimbei is. Man was coming in clutch all pre timeskip. He has no shortage of clutch moments even into Wano and Whole Cake.

The animation, the opening, the ost🔥🔥🔥 About to be another great year for One Piece 🔥

I love how One Piece touches us all in LITERALY the same way ! Here is why : I had the exact same feeling as B.D. A Law in regard to the pre-time skip feel. In pre-time skip, there was this awe...whenever the strawhats where introduced to a new Island---they were just discovering Grand Line...everything felt bigger than them and we had WOOW discovering the world of One Piece ! This episode had that ! I was worried that these moments will fade as Luffy is now a Yonko ! But, let's not forget that...The Strawhats are a different group of pirates..and they're on an adventure ! Normally, a Yonko will have a Base, and every now & then, he will collect money from all the Islands he/she has under his 'control' ...Luffy wants to be the King of the Pirates ( the most free pirate amongt all - in order to experience that Freedom, you have to be the strongest as nobody will just let you travel around the world without challenging you for liberty. glory & power ) I just love how, Oda Sensei can make One Piece story relates to all people ( that's really difficult to do in my opinion )

The music at Imu's appearance was absolut perfect, aswell as the animation overall. Lads and Ladys, Egghead will be a fuggin feast for the eyes, I smell dat.

This feels like a teaser into Wit Piece. Gotta see who did the intro because it gave me strong Spy Family vibes with how it was done.

The animation definitely looks movie quality, hope it keeps up. And Franky's VA is amazing, i'll die on this hill.

That opening has a video's worth of dissection itself with all the spoilers. It's so incredible.

My eyes damn popped out of my head when I seen the anime portrayal of the destruction of Lulusia

It's funny how you stopped at the green hair for Grus, because I had also missed that in the manga coloring. And I had the same reaction of going "huh?" and then it's funny that the green hair alone immediately triggered the "oh, excuse me for not noticing sooner. I think I just now see what we're doing here, oda". Because I feel we are getting us another one of "those" dynamics. Next time we run into the marines, we probably have Koby being in command, and now below him we have the green hair to argue with the blond again, the "prince" vs the swordsman. It's a dynamic oda loves doing with some mixing and matching (e.g. also with Barto and Cavendish) and it makes sense that when we get a next Koby/Luffy meetup we now added a few more people to Koby's squad so we have not just Koby and Helmeppo but we also got Grus and probably also Hibari and Kujaku.

0:40 Maximum epic level in the melody/song is on that top view of the island.

I legit cried watching the ending. Something about it just made me so emotional on how far One Piece has come. Damnit One Piece stop making me CRY!

With these changes that many people correctly and positively commended on(artstyle,animation,music,change of eerie to adventurus feelings, direction and perfect adding to the existent amazing manga scenario), this episode is one of the key-stone episodes to make one piece one of the greatest fictional stories ever portrayed , and finally the best long runniung anime (eastern animation) ever created

Holy sht, when I was watching and they show Imu with the background music playing that some amazing setup up there, it's completely different from something like a Yonko introduction. You can literally tell this is endgame apocalypses stuff happing there, the atmosphere, the enigma, the menacing presence etc. Like the hand of God is interacting with the world. Dam thats really fire

Man, everything about this first episode was 🔥. Intro was so good. Animation, I hope it stays the same for the whole arc, was amazing. So excited for this arc. Kuma backstory animated! Lots of tears will be shed

Loved the banter on the ship. Reminded me of the old days.

The Anime Starts This Year with a Bang especially since I love Opening 26th (which I have watched repeatedly seeing so many details) which is called “Assu!” by Hiroshi Kitadani who also created opening 1 “We Are!”, opening 15 “We Go!”, & opening 22 “OVER THE TOP” while Ending 20 is “Dear sunrise” by Maki Otsuki who also created ending 1 “memories” & ending 2 “Run! Run! Run!”

Straight peak the whole way through even the comedy bits. Everything was chef's kiss

Whoa wtf! That was a crazy change up and I'm loving every moment of it! Every episode is for sure about to be this gas

I've watched this episode 5x now and I just keep smiling, I'm so happy watching One Piece. The fact that Oda and Toei can make us feel the feels 1089 episodes later! Masterful!

Why does everyone get this wrong; the Mother Flame isn't what destroyed Lulusia. Dragon and Ivankov even discuss it, that Vegapunk wouldn't have created a weapon of that magnitude. The Mother Flame is the power source, and it is being used to POWER Uranus, which is the actual weapon

This opening was so full of little easter eggs it's crazy

This was a movie! I enjoyed every second of it.

That ending slowing down with Usopp saying "Run!", Zoro and Sanji fighting, Chopper and Luffy getting blown away, and Franky and Brook flailing around preparing the ship was AMAZING.

I think its good to remember that an anime opening spoils very little to anime only watchers since manga readers will recognize scenes but anime only people won't know whats going on and even if what they are seeing is gonna be actual scenes

THEY MADE THAT SCENE SO GOOD OMDS

If you look at emu in the most recent episode, they kind of look like they could be a member of the long arm tribe. This got me thinking about how the long arm tribe and the long leg tribe have been at war for thousands of years. Like, their war precedes the void century and the ancient kingdom and is still being waged to this day. And with the recent reveal of Saturn, using a magic circle, my mind, yet again, was brought to the long arm tribe in their attempts to use a magic circle during the time skip. Makes me wonder if there’s some big reveal related to the long limb tribes coming up.
