When Thordan summons his knights it's a close representation of the animation "Knights of the Round" summon in FF7. It's nice that 14 has previous games to reference in cool ways.

God I still remember the chocobo breeding involved to get the summon in ff7.

RIP Stephen Critchlow, Ser Edmont's voice actor. Everytime I hear his voice, I can feel a stab of sadness hit me still. When he died, across every server there were a flood of players outside Fortemps Manor paying their respects. And many of us crafters (me included) were giving away that campfire minion. So there were more campfire tributes outside Fortemps Manor than any videocard could render!

The 'Who- What are you!?' Remember that. Remember that line as you progress~

The reason why Thordan was so confident, and later so panicked by you overcoming him, was due to the amount of power he had behind him. A 1000 years of prayer from Ishgard, combined with the power of the Right Eye, the soul of Lahabrea, AND the power his sword absorbed in the Aetherochemical Research Facility is an unimaginable combination of power for a primal. And you survived it. And defeated him. Your strength is monstrous to defeat him so he asks what are you. The whole point of Ultimate End being Thordan’s most powerful attack was he was letting the sword with Nidhogg’s eye in it, partake of the massive amount of power in the facility by plunging it in the ground and having the Heavens’ Ward fight us off for it to charge.

We are quite overpowered, but we have plot armor from our crystal mom 😆

I found it very easy to get sucked into the story and care for all the characters which is probably why the two that are gone hit me so hard. Though FF14 has so many love letters to previous FF games, it is great. Keep on enjoying the game! Also that primal has a great story to go with it \o/

When an enemy uses a gaze attack, shown with the large eye symbol, your character needs to face away from the attack to not get hit. Spinning the camera around is not good enough. Need to actually turn your character away.

It's sad that the Heavens Ward were mostly just young men in their 20/30's (aside from a couple) tempered by Thordan, even at the point of the Vault. You even see Zephirins tempering in a previous cutscene, implied for sure, but it's there.

Still doesn’t change the fact they had to be stopped. It makes me understand their situation better, but I feel nothing for them, especially Zephirin. Some of them were bad people before the tempering.

I wonder if we'll ever see you slap the Extreme version of the fight :) 22:22 You can get a similar-looking sword as a paladin! It uses the same model afaik (with a tweaked texture) as the level 50 Relic weapon!

I plan on going back through the game playing extremes of the old content. First I have to catch up lol

A friendly tip! I do highly recommend zooming out to maximum when doing fights -- as you kinda mention at the start of the fight, it's sometimes quite difficult to see what's going on if you're zoomed in so far.

@@madiganva Yep! If you still have trouble seeing what's going on, you can also go into the settings and set other people's effects to "Limited" so their moves don't make as many particle effects, if that helps.
