in the meetings in 2004 where I saw him - I felt the truth of his message - but my feeling of separation remained and his meetings felt dramatic & frustrating for me... in 2009 the seeker was burned up and everything that remained was everything thats there. it was suddenly obvious that there never was a seperate me...

Its like seeing that there is no water in the desert mirage. The water does not disappear it just was never there even though it appeared to be. It does not require understanding of what caused the mirage or how it formed in the mind, it just is effortlessly seen for what it is.

It’s so strange. A body and mind grappling with the thoughts and ideas they have imposed on the magnificent spectacle which is simply the tapestry of colours and shapes we see before us. A body and mind that assumes an identity and says I am here. It is simply energy contracted! Around the head and behind the eyes which gathers and says I am here. Really. Where is here? There is only everywhere and nowhere. Simply perception. Perfect and aloof of all direction.

The thing that wants to understand this isn't you. The thing that wants to go through the enlightenment process isn't you. There isn't a you. The thing that tries to figure out that statement doesn't actually exist. What you actually are is what everything is and it can't be spoken to. It is incapable of comprehension or understanding or even any form of communication. It is incapable of doing anything for it is absolute, eternal stillness. It NEVER moves. The most shocking statement that could help you, the ghost - the character in the dream, to understand this is that you are a character in someone else's dream. You wont awaken because ITS NOT YOUR DREAM. The thing that is dreaming this is not you. The best definition of this thing is you can't ever know what it is and neither can anyone else EVER. It is wholly and completely unknowable and it's dreaming you and you want to awaken but you're not dreaming, you're not the dreamer, you're not asleep. So awakening is impossible. Unfortunately there's NOTHING that can be done about this. You are absolutely 100% powerless. So am I. Oh well. It's really actually quite silly.

Beautiful. And "he" put into words exactly what "I" have been feeling about compassion. Grateful.

What is generally not explained is that all the stuff that appears to us moment by moment, thoughts, things, emotions, people etc. is not separate from the knowing of it. We have gotten used to focusing on the stuff and not on the inseparable knowing. There is nothing compelling us to focus on the stuff other than the habit that we trained in. Waking up is the gradual shift from the stuff to the awareness. The stuff doesn't need to change as it is awareness and so we can let all the stuff be as it is, this includes the apparent separate self which doesn't need to be dropped in any way as it is also just another thing that is already inseparable from awareness. We don't have to wait for Being to drop the self simply notice awareness

I always come back to this beautiful video even though it is so short. It sustains my attention much more than any of the popular shorts or gimmicks that everyone else is sucked into. 😅 At 13:50 Tony gives an explanation on True Compassion, and I love it b/c it rings true, but also it is super subversive, he renders everyone complicit who validates the seeking energy, and tries to make the prison more comfortable, this includes some of the groups that we are encouraged to praise and bow down to, such has therapists and teachers.

Teresa has heard this message for years and gives an honest response to it "I don't get it". Tony loves this and seizes on it with the predictable "You never will" come back. "there's been been many droppings away of the sense of the person" says Tony and there we have the dangling carrot on the end of the rope. So keep coming back folks because it could be you.

This reminds me of Thomas Aquinas and the discussion of how many angels can danse on the head of a pin. It boils down to words and of course all this is beyond words, yet words and the individual's expression of them ie their personality is what we are left with.

Enjoy your honesty Teresa and had that same pattern as you " I don't get it " What broke me through the pattern of " I don't get it" is the knowing that pattern as it is. Its just a pattern. There is nothing wrong with " I don't get it " The pattern unto itself is meaningless. Its the charging it up with meaning and importance that keeps it into existence thus a self contraction. One can be enlightened and not get it . LOL

This could not be simpler. It is a coping mechanism about death. Embrace it as the perfect state (and in the process decrease your fear). That's it.

having had a tiny glimpse of what tony describes i can only confirm all his language is precise in terms of how i would describe it. i am aware that others and myself at present continually fall back in to trying to grasp, understand and work out how to feel free from lifes disturbances. The bottom line is that it should be obvious to any seeker that trying to attain something that is unborn, uncreated, etc cannot be done. Realisation of things the way they are is experienced as a pure gift however it comes to be realised. That is the paradox. so, go on, keep on searching even by denial-youre on the right road. By the way I have never met Tony or any other person who claims to be realised. I dont know how I had my experience and I dont know how to repeat it but, i know it exists as tony describes it.

Again your opinion about my opinion that is what is called lame. This clearly indicates that you have not understood the message or no message, and that this so called dialogue between you and me is just that! It is what is and nothing more or less, there is no right or wrong,it is just what is or is not. The seeker cannot comprehend this and rightly said never will, I do not claim to comprehend it either but the realization is becoming more and more apparent.

What she doesn’t realize is that the “me” is actually preventing her from seeing this.

As the "Awakening" according to Tony and others is an energetic shift,then no amount of talking about it will be of any use. Its beyond mind,which is just a bundle of thoughts and ideas..it simply happens on its own ,there nothing we as a person idea can do about it even when we intellectually understand there is no person.

Tony means the end of self-consiousness. Evolution took millions of years to come to this point and Tony says self-conscioueness is illusory.

Mindfulness of mindfulness until there is no-thing left will loose any local witness or seeker. Anyhow meditation can be fun and help people to chill even if there is local witness or subtle container. There are many other reasons besides being a false self fulfilling prophecy(limiting beliefs) that draw people back into contraction . To name a few: - remembered thoughts that carry methods into the body , social sense of approval, imputed judgments from people etc. Being with the country surround by simple actual nature is a great place to stabilize being like what 'Tony' points to.

This sounds like ancient teachings where one states that everything is an illusion, also not real. Isn't it so, that Illusion is just the way as we perceive reality thru our limited minds, but not denying that there is a reality, that is greater than we can comprehend. Tony states that there is nothing we can do, cause everything just happens. But he himself states that he was a seeker, looking for love as he experienced the shift in energy during a walk in the park? I don't doubt he experienced the shift. He just denies everyone the access to it by just saying there is no I and no you and there is nothing you can do.❤

There is no me and no dentists

There are seekers who seek bliss and peace, this is as a reaction to the turmoil and suffering to normal everyday life. However it doesn't work as it is an attempt to neutralise the unpleasant stuff or get rid of it and to replace it with love, peace and bliss. However much peace is achieved there will always be a disquiet in the background and an effort to blot it out. Conversely the seekers of no self seek this as an escape from the suffering of life. They hope that by attaining a state of no self that there will be no one left to suffer. This method can be more succesful as the escape into no self if genuine and not merely intellectual is actually a liberation of sorts. However it is a personal liberation. This seems contradictory as the no self seeker is convinced that it can't be personal liberation as they have seen through the me. Nevertheless it is the case and is still an escape into emptiness. Being stuck in emptiness is much nicer than being stuck in personhood. The hallmarks of personal liberation are: 1. Always referring back to the self, either as the self that used to be believed in or the new state which is characterised as being no self. Always going on about the self as is the way of those personally liberated. 2. No further depth or understanding about life, awakening and the world only able to talk about self and no self. Gross superficiality. 3. Compassionless, uncaring, cold, detached, holding the belief that nothing matters and suffering is just an illusion so one shouldn't care. A loveless state. 4. Arrogance. The belief that they have attained something superior to others. In complete awakening there is no attempt to neutralise suffering or to replace anger for peace, arrogance for humility, bliss or love. There is no attempt to escape suffering by hiding out in emptiness either. The extremes are not sought. There is no fear of negative states and there is no problem with the self at all. Rather it is seen that everything is included.Anger left as it is is seen as being inseparable from great peace. It is seen that there is no independent self also but there isn't a getting stuck in this realisation. It is seen that after all everything is already inseparable from love, bliss and great peace and there was never a need to seek bliss and peace or to escape from suffering into the no self state. Compassion and wisdom reign and the wonders of the universe open up.

Yes, I love what you say. It seems to me that some non dual teachers can end up saying ridiculous or even horrible things. For instance, whether your a paedophile abusing or a nurse caring it makes no difference since it is "just life happening". They go strangely quiet when I ask if they think the Moors murders are an expression of "boundless unconditional love". I love the teachings of Tim Freke and his Lucid Living philosophy which sees oneness and our individuality as different aspects of our nature depending on where our attention is.

DIBBY40 Yes I too have heard some very chilling things being said in the name of modern non duality. It generally isn't understood that the purpose for non duality and the reason it is prized is because it can bring great benefit into the world. This benefit looks like being nicer with each other and ourselves, genuine uncontrived care and love. Solving difficult problems such as the environmental problems. True compassion. If it didn't bring benefit then why bother at all? Much better than saying that there is no one, so no need to care about people or worse still value the logic which assigns equal value to hitler and genuine philanthropists because it's all Being. It isn't about losing our humanity but becoming truly human. Tim Freke has a much broader understanding and there are other non dual teachers who also communicate a much less selfish message. Non duality is beginning to grow up thank goodness!

the perfect symbol for what tony describes as our predicament, is a dog madly chasing it own tail. we're dashing round and round seeking the [no]thing that we already are. maybe some of us think if only we could go fast enough, we'd start to levitate ! maybe we should just give up and scratch our ear, or lick our own bum!

Every teaching is not a literal statement of truth but a response to a particular illusion. The emphasis on “there’s nothing you can do because the seeker is an illusion so it can’t do anything” is a pointer for a certain type of seeking energy - one that is effort and future oriented, that thinks ok if I do this practice long enough and hard enough I will get somewhere” or one that is really lost in struggling to “figure it out”. But as soon as a pointer is put on an altar as The Truth, you have a new belief, a new religion. Mistaking the pointer for the moon. For some people this pointer is effective, for other people this is not particularly helpful. It wouldn’t have helped me at all. A teacher told me to question whether any of my thoughts or opinions were actually true with 100% certainty. I sincerely looked with a deep openness and willingness to see whatever was really true and like a revelation out of a movie I saw these various random scenes from my life where I was saying something and I could see that not only were the opinions not true, right in those moments there was something underneath that knew they weren’t true, and it was clear as day that the opinions were only being spoken for the purpose of creating the illusory self - a mask to show the world for protection, that the opinions and beliefs were actually creating the illusion of a self that was known both then and now not to exist. In this direct seeing of the architecture of the illusory self that bubble popped and the wild mystery outside of that little bubble was revealed. This was the direct result of a “doing” pointer. Every person is in their own maze of conditioning, thoughts, tendencies, habits, etc. and different pointers speak to different points of stuckness. I only bother to say all this because I see a proliferation on KZread of this particular pointer being held as The One True Truth and many minds using the closed loop of the statement “there’s nothing you can do because there is no you” as a sense of certainty, “yes this must be true because it sounds very logical and my mind loves that feeling!” But if you actually look closely, that statement directly contradicts itself. It assumes that the body being spoken to is only the illusory self. It speaks only to what it is claiming doesn’t exist. A more accurate statement might be “the illusory aspect of you that doesn’t exist can’t do anything” but honestly I don’t know that that’s always true either. The vastness of the mystery can bubble through any element of manifestation. The possibilities are endless. All I’m saying is don’t believe any words to be the actual truth, they’re only pointers. Medicine for a particular condition. The medicine for one condition might not treat another condition. I get what is being pointed to- the separate identity is an illusion, there is something else going. But this particular verbalizing of it is not the one true truth and is very easily co-opted by the dualistic mind because it seems so logical (and freeing bc it promises you don’t have to deal anything ever again!) I found/find a sincere investigation into the nature of one’s own identity/thoughts/beliefs/opinions with a deep deep honesty and willingness to see whatever is revealed to be more illuminating than this. Best to everyone on their endeavors to know the truth of their existence and be free from painful illusions.

Avatar Meher Baba said it best when he said" the ego must die, it's called manonash ( annhiliation of the ego) but final destruction comes by the grace of the Perfect Master. You have to earn it through hundred of thousands of lifetimes of devotion to the Hoghest of the High--to Jesus or Buddha or Meher Baba. It is my opinion that none of the thousands of non-duality speakers, teachers, followers, etc have arrived at God Realization ( the goal) which translates into Infinite knowledge Power and Bliss continuous without a break. According to Meher Baba, of the 8 billion souls on the Gross sphere of our planet, there are only at all times 56 God Realized souls. Not many and certainly not any of your non-duality teachers or followers. But their existential spirituality can be of some halp for those who are attempting to become what they already are--an impossibility. Baba said it best in this passage ( my favorite): THE LOVER AND THE BELOVED "God is love. And love must love. And to love there must be a Beloved. But since God is Existence infinite and eternal there is no one for Him to love but Himself. And in order to love Himself, He must imagine Himself as the Beloved whom He as the lover imagines He loves. Beloved and lover implies separation. And separation creates longing; and longing causes search. And the wider and more intense the search, the greater the separation and the more terrible the longing. When longing is at its most intense point, separation is complete, and the purpose of separation, which was that love might experience itself as lover and Beloved, is fulfilled; and union follows. And when union is attained, the lover knows that he himself was all along the Beloved, whom he loved and desired union with; and that all the impossible situations that he overcame were obstacles which he himself had placed in the path to himself. To attain union is so impossibly difficult because it is impossible to become what you already are! I listened to many non dual youtube videos for years, simply searching for someone who was having an experience similar to my experience. Non duality was the closest I found but it was not at all the same. I made a video to share my experience of no self. And when I say no self I mean I see no individuals anywhere I look. Ich weißt zwar, was sie damit meinen, also dass sie damit meinen, dass das Sein so frei ist, einfach so zu sein, wie es ist, bzW. einfach so zu erscheinen, wie es erscheint. Aber dennoch erleben wir uns ja durch diese Körper, bzW. die Körperwahrnehmung ist bei jedem da. Sogesehen finde ich nicht, dass wir wirklich frei sind, da wir ja an diese Körper gebunden sind. Darauf würde ein Nonduality-Talker sicher sagen, dass da niemand ist, der an einen Körper gebunden ist, weil da einfach nur das ist, was ist. Aber was genau hat das nun mit Freiheit zu tun, wenn gesehen wird, dass da niemand ist, dem etwas passiert, sondern dass einfach passiert was passiert? Erlebt wird dennoch, der Traum wird dennoch erlebt, selbst wenn klar ist, dass es kein persönliches Ich gibt. Wenn der Körper schwer krank ist, dann wird das dennoch so erlebt, auch wenn man keinen persönlichen Bezug (mehr) dazu hat. Bei mir ist auch klar, dass es kein persönliches Ich gibt, dennoch wird das Körperempfinden hier als sehr unangenehm erlebt und der Körper wird als nicht normal intakt erlebt... auch dass das was ist, die einzige Möglichkeit ist, ist letztendlich nur eine Annahme... wissen kann man es nicht. Alles, was hier klar ist, ist dass hier ein 3D "Film" erlebt wird, der mal als angenehm und mal als unangenehm empfunden wird. Ich wäre vorsichtig mit radikalen Aussagen wie, dass da niemand ist, der eine Wahl hat, denn man hört oft genug Aussagen wie, dass wir Schöpfer sind etc... wenn da wirklich niemand ist, der eine Wahl hat, dann frage ich mich, wie es sein kann, dass hier Menschen erscheinen, die das Gegenteil sagen können oder die Aussagen treffen können wie: "Wir sind Schöpfer.". Nonduality-Talker würden darauf sicherlich sagen, dass Sein auch als scheinbare Menschen erscheint, die sagen: "Wir sind Schöpfer.". Das Leben ist einfach und komplex zugleich.
