Tony Parsons Berlin 24.06.2012 part 1 of 3

Recorded in Germany, Berlin the 24th of June 2012
Tony Parsons website:
www.theopensecret.com/
To meet with Tony Parsons is to encounter a paradox. Tony is unexpectedly ordinary and very approachable, but the message he communicates is unique and revolutionary. It is delivered with a gentle but impersonal authenticity which recognisably emanates from absolute clarity.
The Open Secret discussions illuminate rather than seek to satisfy the mind as the enquirer's perceptions are turned to discover that they are already the very illumination they seek. Long silences often fill the space with a resonance that is palpable.
Friendship, simplicity and much laughter carries a singular, radical message that can leave those that hear with nothing and everything.

I love the fact that Tony is honest and not trying to convince or prove anything. I can take him or leave him but never feel threatened or humiliated by him. He speaks the TRUTH - for me anyway! Good for you, Tony!

Tony always says that this message is useless, but since I have discovered it, I have changed so much, I have lost all interest in me, in finding myself, buahahaha, in listening to any teachers, even the one I really admired, and I still think they are kind, very kind people, but Tony and the crew are true Buddha killers, and I take my hat off to him.

Tony Parsons is a rare real deal. Much respect to this beautiful Nobody! It is not short of astonishment that Tony Parsons was able to compress so elegantly in modern tongue the entire Sutra of unadulterated Buddhism. Even though Great Britain as an empire has many a criminal repertoire in her shameful history, when he says there is nothing to teach, I knew immediately he was a genuine Buddha from England.

Good quality video and audio! Maybe a fair warning if you watch this video. Non-dualism is just an idea of "dying". Dying of the old concept and the reborn of a newone. The homeostasis kicks in and i also was afraid of loosing my old idea and i still do..So enjoy this trip

"There isn't something that now know it is one with everything, there is just everything" .. Whatever it is that is asserting this statement must know it from direct experience, otherwise it will be no better than a belief from hearsay!

As with you I can only speak from my experience of now , although you are experiencing the same now as I. I think the dilemma lies in that I can recall memory of now passed yet cannot anticipate now to come , this gives rise to the duality of now , now is all and the single source , it takes time for cognition from now so I am unable to be this singularity as I am always slightly behind it. my perception is divided into duality where the singularity of now splits , so to does my reality, inside - outside, light- dark, hot - cold, before - after and so on...

there is so many people out there and even around in youtube who listen few satsangs and read one book and start to use only this advaita-talk...impersonal talk without using 'me', 'we' or 'i' at all and interpreting everyone else who does. annoying. anyhow, great video quality, thanks.

Amazing how threatened folk feel by Tony. The rampaging ego hates being challenged. After if you have been seeking for so many years it must be hard to realise the truth! Hilarious!

wow, it's the grand High Priest of FUTILITY himself, tony parsons ! if there's nothing to do, nothing to get and nobody to know it, why does he bother to open is mouth at all ? what's the sensible response to hearing his message? never to give him even one more second of your attention? after hearing it once, why do people STILL waste their time chasing his wonderful message of Futilty?

He's a philosopher playing with words, negating every world, and describing a word-less world of words. This is what happens to advaita on a intellectual western mind... And he doesn't seem to understand Ramana Maharshi. Sure there's people who misuse self-enquiry, but it's not a practice so that the "me" gets to liberation, it's turning the mind inward to observe that the "me" doesn't exist, so that the "me" seeking itselfs drops.

  • @jimcrich

IMO, Tony and Ramana are pointing towards the very same thing but I don't let Tony's preferences spoil the power of his or Ramana's teachings. It all works for me to arrive at a self-less state of being or Unity. Maybe Tony dislikes the "practicing" concepts in Ramana's teachings.

self-enquiry only reinforces a sense of seperation and doership, although it can sometimes lead to temporary states of peace and detachment that resemble the loss of identity. It's all within the dream. The individual is hopeless.

It´s easy to say that "the floor is unconditional love" in a seminar room, with calm "spiritually interested people". I always wonder, what Tony would say when someone punches him in the face => would he still say:"The fist in Tony´s face is unconditional love. Because there is no seperate entity in the Tony body to feel offended by the punch"....

  • @19Marc79

I would just like to see how his body behaves in a really challenging situation - and not always in a chair with a desk near to it and some flowers and a glass of water on it. It´s just too easy to talk this stuff "this is not happening TO someone anymore" in a room full of people who already think that the speaker is on a higher level of "ego-lessness" and paid money to listen to him.

What happens is what happens, there is no rhyme or reason. If Tony gets punched in the face than that’s what’s happening. If anger arises, that’s what happens, if confusion happens, that’s what happens. WHAT ever arises is simply what happens. He’s not telling us how to live, only that there is no one there, only life. Words and concepts only go so far..

deeply unimpressive - all seeking is an illusion - except the thought - all seeking is illusion - its fine to seek - its inevitable - seek until seeking fails you - then you find what your where seeking - but to condemn seeking is reductionist - over simplistic - non dual fundamentalist - its sounds smart but your not transformed -
