This is an absolute NIGHTMARE - trying to cross CAMEROON - CONGO 🇨🇬[S7-E80]

This is part 2 of the day in which I tried to get from the Central African Republic, via Cameroon, to the Republic of Congo. The road was a lot more challenging than I thought, and it ended up being a race against the clock, to avoid crossing into the dark. I make it to the river separating Cameroon and Congo just before dark, but by the time I managed to find a 'pirogue' (a canoe made out of a tree), it's dark. When trying to get my motorcycle across the river, the worst possible happens...

To put Alaska back together with all parts and fasteners in the dark is amazing. Some people cannot do that property in their garage in the daylight. Of course I liked this episode. One tumble in to the river after countless other boat rides with Alaska is something else. Having the people at customs call a mechanic and get Alaska going in the dark is another example of being blessed on this journey. Take care Noraly and enjoy the paved paths in the Congo.

The African subconsciously knows they are the original humans, if they don't provide support that will be the end of all humans. The others don't have that originality in the DNA so they don't feel the need to provide that support which is not needed for the survival humans. In fact pygmies are the most original humans in existence and they will never do anything to harm anyone, its in their DNA.

Getting Alaska repaired and set right by a local mechanic during the night is really a blessing that too without proper lighting. Even the city mechanic would have taken more time. This guy checked the air cleaner then pulled out the injector and cleaned it by cranking and starting the bike with a push start was excellent. He is worth the praise 👌👌👌. Myself being an african trained mechanic but now working in one of the 1st world countries, can surely know how effortless that mechanic fixed the bike in those odd hours of the day and pinpointing his method of diagnosing the problem(no obi scanning tool) In Africa we still open Carburators by head, even me as a mechanic, I know how to strip a starter motor and change brushes, Alternator diodes etc. Apprentice mechanics here in Europe doesnt even know what a carburator is, its sad.😢 During our training its basically about using available limited resources and reducing expenses. This can also be attributed to how those mechanics Adamo and his team in Abdijan did an overhaul on Alaska👍 I am very happy about how the two and many other videos has given a true reflection of how humans always spread love❤ Much love for you Noraly, keep on pushing, we like your Energy and zeal to never give up🫡

Well said my brother. The same applies for us here. But now, lots of electricians do not renew brushes nor solenoids on starters. They do not open alternators....just replace them. Most of our cars are Japanese and used parts arrive by the containerload. My electrician's father used to open and repair when I was a young man. Now his son replaces. There is hardly an engine job for the cars. Just buy a complete engine or head-and-block ! Regards. Trinidad & Tobago. West Indies. I salute the mechanics of Africa, India & Pakistan. This is why I always say that engineers/mechanics etc in less developed countries are BETTER than in developed countries. It is because of the reasons that you state. In developed countries, digitalization and complex tools have made the engineers/mechanics rely on them....and when they fail they are left clueless. This is because they have not learnt the BASICS. In less developed countries they truly understand the problem that is in front of them and they aware of the systematic approach of solving the issue. And as you say....you have to be inventive, since spare parts and resources are limited.

As a re-newbie beginner road-rider after a 50 year layoff, my neighbors and extended family say pretty much the same about me as @user-vg7zu2sw6v says about Noraly. My experiences are nowhere as adventuresome as Itchy Boots, but the living angels are everywhere. First day out on my new machine, tipped over twice with full panniers, and a bike I hadn't had to pick up even unloaded. Full tank and luggage much more than I could handle. Didn't take a minute for help to get me back up. Over the next thousand miles, happened a total of seven times. Yes I know what was doing it, but instincts are hard to retrain. Past experience was getting in the way of learning as well. Lots to un-learn and new to learn. Every time, I would barely have time to asses ignition/kickstand/gear before someone was picking it up. And that's in the USA where we are not known for common sense (me as an example) or charity, until you get to know a few "common" citizens. Ride On Noraly!

It is not a coincidence that your bike gets fixed anywhere, anytime in Africa with bare hands. It is also not a coincidence that most of vehicles you see in deep forests are of the same type. You have a Japanese made motorcycle (Honda) and all the trucks you see in rural Africa are Toyotas. Not only African mechanics are very resourceful and skilled for obvious living conditions but also they know very well Japanese technology. It could have been another story if you had a complex BMW motorbike. Nonetheless as an African myself I am so delighted that you keep showing to the world that African people have hearts of gold. That is the quality no one can take from us.

Wow, what an episode? I know that you already did a few rally races and are capable of riding fast. You always said, alone safety and less risk has priority. I felt already like you are pushing it today on the long stretch in the jungle to make it to the border in time. Almost rushing it, I felt like that's not your style. When you arrived at the border late but with a little day light I thought yep the episode will end here, she will stay the night at the border and cross it tomorrow with time. Especially because you mentioned the river crossing. The shock when I saw you leaving for another 12km to the river, almost in the dark. It did not feel right... Crazy that you heard nothing of the bike fall, like crazy screaming of the guys drowning all your stuff in the river. After that emotional down it went all up again seeing everybody working in the night to fix your bike again. What legend of a mechanic! You are surrounded by so many kind and helpful people on your travels, its amazing to see that. Your patience and coolness in the worst moments are very impressive. Often you still have a smile in your face and spreading positivity. Noraly you are a hero and absolute legend!

Noraly, the gambler, knows when to hold ‘em, knows when to fold ‘em, knows when to walk away, and knows when to run. She never counts her money when she’s sittin’ at the table. There’ll be time enough for counting’ when Alaska’s runnin’. A big thank-you to the amazing mechanics and people who help Noraly keep gambling on her adventures.

Wow what an arrival in Congo! We could probably write a comic book of your adventures…after the famous Tintin in Congo, it would be Noraly in Congo ! You can be sure that your worst events along your journey will become the best anecdotes when you will tell your stories to your children and grandchildren. So happy ride and keep building up your memory book!

a big salute to you Noraly dear .. I dedicate this poem to you 👍 "In the heart of wild, where the brave souls roam, Stands a lady with nerves of steel, making the jungle her home. Facing challenges bold, with a kind heart and a cool mind, " "In the remotest corners, where wilderness unfurls, Noraly rides alone, amid nature's swirls. Yet, a divine power guides her way using kind souls around the globe, ensuring no dismay. Her expedition, a tale to be told, A chapter in schools, for both young and old. For it teaches courage, beyond mere might, And the true wealth of kindness, shining bright." "In the world's vast stage, where treasures gleam, Noraly proves humility is supreme. So hats off to this adventurer bold, For her journey teaches, more precious than gold. ❤ "

My friend Noraly. I'm glad I saw my cardiologist recently, because I was nervous the whole time. That trail that seemed to never end and the episode of the motorcycle falling into the river. There's a heart!!!! I knew everything was fine, but we were apprehensive. Always with you Noraly. Big hug.

Noraly You have a guardian angel watching over you a d your ability to overcome adversities. Having someone call a mechanic in the dead of night to fix Alaska was amazing. Anywhere else in the civilized world they wouldn't give you the time of day and if they did it would cost you an arm and a leg plus a week in the shop. You have brought out the best of the locals as if you were one of them. Safe travels.

Itchy Boots, you're so BRAVE!!! All alone, through the great Jungle, on "soap -roads" hurrying to reach civilization before the sun goes down, standing your grown,😮 when itchy guards lie and say "you're papers are not valid" Woaw, I just have to say:"I admire you, Noraly"!!! And,, you're opening roads for women, on a mansdominated planet, and THAT, that is so valuable, bella Noraly. You're french is improving and with good will, we humans understand eachothers by making drawings in the sand❤ And this driving must have made you so, so strong, and well balanced, on Alaska!(And what a bike! She never lets you down...sometimes its like our cars, or boats, or motorbikes, have a certain "Soul"!) Thank you so much for what you're doing, Noraly...showing all women in the world that it's POSSIBLE to travel alone!!!!! Hurra for you, Itchy Boots, AND Alaska, also!!!! Plus all the good people you meet on your way❤

And when one part is done and you thinks it's over, another anxious section comes. Thanks for this completely unique travel episodes. Am with you on the trail.

How many way can Noraly get stuck. Stuck in the sand and stuck in the mud top the list. Now it is fishing ALASKA out of the river, disassembling her down to her gunnels and getting her to start. This ride through Africa is one full of excitement, thrills, chills and now “SPILLS”…. You have not forgotten how to love life… you smile, you remain cheerful and you continually look to the next days ride for adventure and excitement. You make all of us wish we were there with you…

African people are so kind and helpful… they need to be proud . Thanks to them and financial payments are not adequate for their help… Tell the stories to your future family and present… what a series of stories!!

Sad you can watch her videos and still hang to the rather offensive view of "deep darkest Africa". It doesn't exist! She uses well traveled roads and she even said it was a surprise to go 30km without seeing anyone in her last video. She isn't some white conquerer going into unexplored lands! She's a very welcomed traveller going places she's never been to and sharing with us.
