    We're looking forward to it. People say this card sucks because it's just the same as the non-XT with only 16GB VRAM. But I'm sure they won't be thinking the same when games at 1080p begin using more than 8GB VRAM.

    I went with the Pulse version of the XTX because it was the only model that wasn't either comically large, looked like it was designed by a 13 year old or was $150-200 above MSRP (I don't mind paying 5-10% above MSRP for a nicer model, but 15-20% is just plain obnoxious). And after a two Powercolor Red Devils in a row I was pleasantly surprised that the Pulse does exactly what it says on the tin. I honestly think AMD should get Sapphire to design the reference model....

    problem with the normal Pulse RX7600 is that they reused the RX6600XT cooler. it doesn't even fit well they putted some rubber pads on the PCB to keep the cooler from tilting. Mine had very trashy temps cause the thermal paste kept pumping out till i replaced the thermal pads with 1.0mm ones and used PTM 7950 for the core. Now it does run way cooler at about 70c with 1300 RPM fan speed while before it did run at 2200 RPM. (Also there are 3 bios version around mine has the first one which has a fan speed target of 2200 as where the cards made after 07-2023 have a target of 1700RPM so those should be a bit more quiet)

    Nice to see that some Pulse versions got a little upgrade on fans and cooler. The "fins" of the cooler are now also oriented perpendicular to the mainboard. That was the reason I couldn't recommend i.e. the 6700/XT Pulse - too loud and very high temps on the gpu hotspot. Otherwise decent and small enough for some builds. If this gets cheaper it may be worth it for some cases. Good work, keep it going! €: Nvm! xD

    To get 8Gb more Vram is nice but you have to pay 50€ more on top of first offer for the 4060 here in Germany. And the card is almost 200W while the green one is just shy over 100W. That make the deal not so great that it may look at first. Positive point here, is clearly this particular card. The Sapphire Pulse is great for the price point.

  • @Miky8032
    @Miky80325 ай бұрын

    Hello Fabio! First of all, thank you for all your work. you are so precise and clear.😊 For me, bad cards both 7600 and 7600xt. They are not wrong so much on a hardware level, but in terms of positioning. In Europe we have 7600 under 300€, good price but bad performance. 7600xt is the same card, with 16gb vram. 16 gb with the same memory bus and the same bandwidth of the 7600 are no sense. We can buy in Europe (Italy) 7600xt at 370€, and 7700xt at 480€. Now, in my opinion, It's better to invest €100 for a much better product. Or I buy a 6750xt for less than €400. Nvidia doesn't care about low end, amd might be the leader, but they are doing everything wrong with the 7xxx series. Same speech for the new 24.1.1 drivers. Technical previews with afmf were perfect. I was happy to install the final driver on my rx 6700....a Disaster...Roll back to previous? Wow.....😦

    An issue I have with the RX 7600 XT is that the AMD spec is for two x 8 pin PCI-E connectors. This seems way over the top for a 190-200W card. I'm sure at the very least they could have just used an 8 pin and 6 pin connectors like on the base 6700 XT cards, which are more power hungry. However, I have seen the Asus DUAL and Powecolor Fighter versions of the 7600 XT both only use a single 8 pin PCI-E connector, which should be sufficient for the 190W spec cards and make it easier for people with lower powered or older PSU's to use them.

  • @AncientGameplays

  • @ShinyHelmet

    @@AncientGameplays Even overclocked, it still wont suck enough power to require two 8 pin connectors. I mean that's a potential 375W of power for a 200W card. As I say, even an 8 + 6 pin would be more than sufficient, so it just seems strange to me.

    lol...man the lamellar body of the cooler is longitudinal on 7600 and trasversal on 7600 xt, that give a greater relative cooling surface to the 7600xt and the cooler don't keep turbolence from the case frontal fans air flux, instead move the video card air flux to the top for extraxtion . With a position on top of cpu liquid cooler i think is a good solution, without big air flux interference, but is there is a tower cooler in the middle may be this one keep some degree of temperature from the video card air flux, but (i think) is just insignificant. I bought a 7800 XT, but a 7600 XT can be a good 16gb solution for 1080. Bye Fabio.

    Hello Fabio. I was recently able to get myself a 7700xt (sapphire pure) as one of the local online stores was running a promotion and the price was really good (340$ usd). What i had an issue with, is that on my particular card, vram can't get overclocked at all, adding even a 100mhz makes desktop artifact and crashes driver. Think i just got unlucky with ram chips, did something wrong, have a bad PSU or something, or is it a sign for potential future issues? Card works well in stock or undervolted. I especially loved it's performance when undervolted&power limited to 90%. It pulls 60w less then stock with roughly the same performance (170w vs 230-240w)

But you know, it has low height and there is so much you can optimize in that part to have a meaningful impact in its application. Its somewhat hard to design fan that performs aerodynamicaly efficiently, looks good, and is easily/cheaply manufactured without need for individual ballancing, and has somwehat unintrusive noise pitch - variable blade profiles might reduce it, but is harder to produce. In the end, on PC components fans, the most impactful factors remains the height, diameter of fan and "thicness" of blades. I have a feeling most manufacturers do not spend much time on optimizing fans in other ways than noise and spend most time on its pleasing design, knowing it would be just allright. Thats why Noctua fans are tangeably better than others, but looks somewhat same and itterative rather than ever changing desiners choice.

    I disagree about your suggestion about the naming. Nvidia gives their cards the same name and rightly got grief for doing so. The same 3060, one with 8gb one with 16 specifically to confuse consumers. Then they wanted to do the same with the 4080 which with the major backlash they walked back from doing.

  • @Vorexia

    @Vorexia

    5 ай бұрын

    The backlash against the 4080 12GB is that people rightfully found it unacceptable that a $1000 GPU only comes with 12GB. The 3060 controversy wasn't because of the naming in itself, but because it was misleading. The names imply that the only difference lies in the VRAM, but the thing is that the 3060 8GB wasn't just a simple VRAM downgrade, but rather the entire GPU was cut down. So even in situations without VRAM bleed, there was a significant relative performance loss. To make things worse, iirc at launch it was priced identically to the 3060 12GB. It was nothing short of a rip-off. The 3060 8GB should've been called a 3050 Ti, and it should've been priced much lower to reflect its vastly inferior hardware. VRAM configs wouldn't be particularly misleading, we already have RAM and SSD configs in laptops and phones and they work fine. Aside from 8GB laptops (honestly just fucking ban them at this point or something, jesus) consumers are handling configs pretty well. But the product needs to be consistent to the marketing. An iPhone 15 256GB is the exact same as an iPhone 15 512GB, it's just that the latter has more storage capacity. And that's what you'd expect from the name, would be outrageous if the two had other hardware differences. The RX 7600-series would similarly be perfect for VRAM configs because the 7600 8GB and the 7600 16GB have no notable out-of-the-box performance difference, it's just that the latter has more VRAM as the name implies.

    Nvidia cut die sizes and increased prices, AMD messed with their die sizes too, but cut prices. Remember, the 6700xt was a 450$ card at launch, not 300-350 like it is now. People also misunderstand the clearance prices, they're selling them at low/no profit just to not have to eat the cost entirely, nvidia has enough money that they can just send all the unsold cards to the landfill so they do not lower prices at all.
