this looks so much like another sci fi game called arcadian rift which i was super hyped for. i was pretty sad when that got unofficially cancelled so you cant believe how happy i was to find this games devlogs

I was super hyped for that game too! I wanted to make a game that gave off the same feeling as Arcadian Rift. I Really loved the art style of that game. 👍

Some proposed features that would spruce up the game a little bit: - Low gravity battle zones (Maybe even with patches where gravity is thrown around a bit... ;) ) - Destroyable environments, because why not. - Spaceship battles, because why not. - Weapon customization with ability to attach modules to each weapon, for personalization. - Toxic / radioactive locations which can only be accessed with certain gear. - Maybe add a game loop similar to Metroid prime, where the player has top tier gear at the beginning for a tutorial, but has it all stripped away once it finishes, and needs to work their way back up. Honestly another five months down the track with this pace... you got this.

Thank you for the feedback and ideas! It really helps, I have the weapon customization planned and it’s pretty much what you suggested. The low gravity zone is an interesting concept, I’ll have to play around with that idea. Definitely should have some destructible environments. I know you had many comments about how this reminds them of Arcadian Rift, but as someone who has hundreds of images and videos saved from the development of Davids game, its nice to see a game that can fill the void he left behind. (While I can't speak on his actions, his vision and idea was really cool) Now, while I would love a direct copy of A.R., I would also love to see what you do with the idea and how you shape YOUR game, it looks dope! I will be returning to see what you make of this. ❤

I love this! Keep this up! I do have one major criticism though! Please fix the really bad default UE5 Motion blur! If you like it and its a style choice, by all means keep it, but that's such a turn off for me and my friends and it makes the game come across as somewhat low effort. That being said, I'm sure everything will come together well and I love the style and gameplay youre going for. Cant wait to see the future of this!

Hi! im trying to make a similar looking texture like the one you made at 2:18 that's similar to the one in deeprock galactic, do you have any tips on how to achieve this and what you used to make it?

I used a texture overlay in the material shader and created a seamless polygonal texture. Then I just brightened it to be less opaque and it worked, you can use the world position node for static models which will give everything a randomized but seamless look. I am still playing around with moving models and how to properly implement that texture overlay onto things like first person weapons and such. Hope this helped.

looks good, Multiplayer is a bit ambitious, I would have been happy with a single player campaign

Yeah my game took a lot of inspiration from Arcadian Rift, I’m going to change it a bit to deviate away from looking too similar but I do love the art style of Arcadian Rift. 👍
